Als zoeken op ISIN code geen resultaten oplevert hebben wij het instrument of aandeel niet in onze koersendatabase.

    About the Semiconductor Test Consortium
    The Semiconductor Test Consortium is a not-for-profit industry group formed to develop a new Open Semiconductor Test Platform. Its main objective is the development and implementation of the OPENSTARâ (Open Semiconductor Test Architecture) within the framework of the organization charter. Membership is open to all interested parties of the semiconductor test community, and includes end users, system and module vendors.

    Mission Statement
    The mission of the consortium is to support the development and long term success of the OPENSTARâ system architecture. This architecture delivers unparalleled technical and economic performance; is truly open and enabled for solution development; and provides true multi vendor interoperability both at the hardware and software level.

    Consortium Goals
    1. Architectural Development.
    Support driving the direction of the development of the platform architecture consistent with the mission statement.

    2. Truly Open Architecture.
    Ensure a truly open architecture by publishing the architecture and promoting understanding of the architectures with training programs and workshops.

    3. Full Third Party Enabling.
    Ensure full interoperability by identifying requirements (developers kits, etc.) and driving solutions to meet these requirements. Define and manage validation procedures to insure complete solution interoperability.

    4.Semiconductor Test Open Architecture Marketing and Promotion.
    The consortium will engage in marketing and promotional activities to ensure the successful implementation of the Open Architecture.
    STIL Technical Working Group
    This group is developed to support and enhance the IEEE STIL effort. Individual memberships are available within the STC, which will give people interested in working in the STIL Users Group additional benefits available to STC members.

    Infineon Technologies Joins Semiconductor Test Consortium's Growing Roster of Global Semiconductor Industry Leaders

    Consortium's Latest Addition Underscores Widespread European Support of the OPENSTAR Standard

    SAN DIEGO , Calif., August 2, 2006 — The Semiconductor Test Consortium, Inc. (STC), the leading proponent of worldwide adoption of the Open Semiconductor Test Architecture (OPENSTAR™) standard, today announced that Infineon Technologies AG (FSE/NYSE: IFX) of Munich, Germany, has joined the consortium's global roster. The welcome addition of this top chipmaker marks yet another milestone for the STC, whose European membership now comprises 13 companies—28 percent of the total corporate membership. These members are integral to the consortium's recent evolution into a fully functioning ecosystem of worldwide semiconductor industry leaders, and further validate European support of the STC's ability to create and implement a truly open, common test architecture for vendors throughout the automated test equipment (ATE) sector.

    "Infineon has a wide product portfolio ranging from discretes to power, automotive to RF, and mixed-signal ICs," explained Klaus Luther, Infineon's senior director of corporate test technology and STC co-vice chairman. " We count on the open platform concept to enable a higher degree of flexibility of our assets as well as better re-use of the competencies of our test engineers across several applications and product generations. It is Infineon's intention to eliminate redundant R&D expenses, such as switching cost by architecture, along with interface and software convergence of our test solutions."

    STC Secretary and Administrator Bob Helsel added, "Having prominent European companies such as Infineon join our existing members further strengthens the burgeoning OPENSTAR ecosystem. The STC values the strength and knowledge base that these international companies bring to the consortium. We look forward to their future contributions and leadership as we continue to drive open hardware, software and interface standards that provide significant economic and infrastructural benefits associated with the longevity and scalability of the open architecture defined by the STC."

    The next STC European general meeting will be held September 19 in Munich, Germany. The next U.S. STC meeting is scheduled for August 15-16 in Boston, Mass.

    Designed to enable open-architecture test solutions that offer true hardware and software interoperability with unparalleled technical and economic benefits, the OPENSTAR platform is now supported by a total of 86 global members, consisting of semiconductor, equipment and instrumentation companies, universities, standard test interference language (STIL) users, and individuals. With its STC-outlined standard specifications, the architecture is accessible to all test-product vendors, enabling them to offer best-in-class, fully OPENSTAR-certified test solutions. In addition, the highly scalable and flexible OPENSTAR platform provides inherent extendibility in performance to meet emerging test requirements.

    Interessante artikelen R., Ben nog eens wat verder gaan spitten om ook te begrijpen waar dit over gaat.

    OPENSTAR, een inintiatief om een open architectuur te ontwikkelen voor producenten van geautomatiseerde testaparatuur. Initaitief is nu al een paar jaar aan de gang. Vroegste gegevens die ik vond dateren uit 2003.

    Op de ledenlijst inderdaad intressante namen. Veel zeggender nog vind ik het ontbreken er van! Rood mag ontbreken is immers geen ATE. Met de leidende rol van Advantest en Intel schittert AMD door afwezigheid!

    Met betrekking tot het symposium, een duidelijk leidende rol voor Infineon als een van de grote nieuwe leden van STC. Dit zie je wel vaker dat een lidmaatschap direct zo gepromoot wordt. Een goede indicatie voor de relatie Infineon en Rood is dat Rood met ROT in de gelegenheid is gesteld zich voor de STC gemeenschap in de spotlights te plaatsen.

    Timing, Symposium is nu een maand geleden geweest. Kort nadat er iemand compleet werd "vrijgesteld" voor ROT. We mogen aannemen dat Infineon een van de spelers is die zich gecommitteerd heeft aan ROT.
    Het kan dan toch haast niet anders of ROT is in een ver gevorderde fase en kan nieuws niet lang meer uitblijven.

    Rood is TE ver achtergebeleven de laatste tijd. We moeten een keer omhoog na al die klappen die de koesr kreeg de afgelopen maanden.
