    Mee eens. Ze hebben wat juridische onenigheid met de overheid daar. Ik zou ook altijd de iotas weer overmaken naar een private wallet in plaats van het op zo'n exchange laten staan. Storten en opnemen doe ik via kraken en dat gaat als een zonnetje.

    Distributed, decentralized systems have an inherent power that literally obsoletes centralized systems. this is obvious even to the most casual observer. We have known this for decades. It was not until the arrival of the blockchain, however, that we had a tool capable of melding "decentralized" and "distributed" into a single unit within which no central authority whatsoever was necessary. The distributed ledger, maintained by no-one, accessible to all and validated by consensus is the tool the world has been waiting for.

    Those who understand this tool see immediately the absurdity of words like "bubble," "investment," etc. when applied to cryptocurrencies. These thought leaders use bitcoin to buy and sell and those who use bitcoin exclusively as a currency and use no other currency - and I personally know dozens who do so - could care less about what bitcoin is worth in dollars.

    These people see, and have seen for some time, that the old paradigm constructs are meaningless in this new world.

    Mijn interpretatie is dat Blockchain (de bediening van) het gedecentraliseerde distributie probleem heeft opgelost. Dit opent de weg naar een wereld met meer decentralisatie, dit betekent automatisch dat je in de toekomst minder centrale partijen nodig hebt. Dit is nu precies de kracht van Bitcoin en Blockchain!

    Partijen die geraakt zouden kunnen worden zijn: banken, overheden, registratie bureau's (kvk, rdw, kadaster), maar ook multinationals.

    Volgens mij staan we nog aan het begin. Veel mensen begrijpen nu nog niet dat we kunnen leven zonder centrale partijen.

    Dank voor je filmpje! Wel een hoog promotie gehalte :-)

    Die IOTA is inderdaad een interessante coin, net als veel andere coins overigens. Voor de mensen die het niet weten: IOTA staat voor Internet Of Things coin. IoT is wel een beetje een hype, maar als je gelooft dat dit een toekomst kan worden, dan zou ik het aanschaffen.

    Interessant is vooral:
    - Geen fees, micropayments mogelijk, betalingen van bv. 0.00001 cent mogelijk
    - Veel transacties per seconde, ongelimiteerd dus, limiet probleem is opgelost
    - Gebouwd op Tangle, is denk ik te technisch voor velen, biedt voordelen
    - Wordt nu in microchips geintegreerd
    - Volgens de website, gebruiken grote bedrijven als, Apple, Fitbit, Tesla het al.

    Dit is één van de coins waarvan ik de kans groot acht dat het over 10 jaar nog bestaat.

    Het is inderdaad bedacht voor de internet of things, omdat dat gewoon onmogelijk was met de huidige transactietijd en kosten van BTC. Maar in principe kan het daarnaast ook gewoon als currency gebruikt worden, net als bitcoin. Ook daar heeft schaalbaarheid en geen transactiekosten grote voordelen natuurlijk.

    You May Now Hold Ethereum in Blockchain.info

    Blockchain.info, one of the oldest and best-known Bitcoin web wallets, has announced support for Ethereum.

    The move was prompted by the phenomenal performance of Ethereum, which has already posted an increase of nearly 4,000 percent so far in 2017.

    With the move, users of Blockchain.info’s service can now have access to their Ether tokens. Ether is the second-highest capitalized coin in the market and is used to power smart contracts on the Ethereum platform.

    Reasons behind Ethereum inclusion

    According to Blockchain.info’s chief executive officer (CEO), Peter Smith, their decision to add Ethereum in their service is due to their belief that the digital currency has already matured.

    "The reason we decided to add Ethereum is we really feel like Ethereum as a community, ecosystem and technology has really matured.”

    Smith added that they did not immediately adopt Ethereum due to the demographics of their user base. While Coinbase’s wallet service has supported Ethereum since early 2016, Smith insists that Blockchain.info’s user base is more global, with 80 percent of their users living outside the US.

    Other developments at Blockchain.info

    Blockchain.info has also integrated the crypto-to-crypto exchange ShapeShift to its operation so that their customers can quickly trade from Bitcoin to Ethereum and vice versa. Blockchain.info is already operating in 140 countries around the world.

    According to Smith, the wallet’s popularity could be driven by their tagline, which is “Be your own bank.”

    "What’s most fundamental to know about our product is our tagline, which is 'Be your own bank.' Our philosophy is not to run a crypto bank, but give people software packages so they could be their own bank.”

    Exploits, Hacks, Phishing, Ponzi Are on the Rise on Ethereum

    In its essence, Ethereum extended over the Bitcoin payment mean, by adding a rich programming language enabling the execution of smart contracts.

    While this innovative technology attracted a great deal of crypto-enthusiasts that saw in it great potential, it also became home to cybercrime in a significant way.

    As it is often the case with new technologies, hackers embraced it and stole millions of dollars in the past years.
    The first major cybercrime incident

    Many cryptocurrency enthusiasts recall the month of June 2016 as the month of the first major cybercrime incident on Ethereum. The network started gaining momentum when The DAO project was announced, and its ICO managed to raise a historic $150 mln.

    Such an amount inevitably peaked the interest of hackers that began exploring the project’s code, and ultimately finding a “bug.” It was used to drain $74 mln of the raised pot, which represents nearly 40 percent of the total ICO funds.

    While some of it was eventually recovered, the incident rang a first red alarm and called for more security and caution when dealing with Ethereum.

    The rise of the Ether thieves

    Since Ethereum makes it relatively easy for developers to build complex smart contracts and decentralized autonomous apps (DApps) and given the rising price of ETH, it became the platform of choice for these token sales that became more popular than ever.

    “The rise of cybercrime on Ethereum has risen in tandem with the big ICO financing, with total cybercrime revenue rising from $100 mln in June to $225 million in August this year.”

    Not only do these ICOs cripple the Blockchain on a regular basis, but there is also a significant security risk associated with such projects. Chainalysis estimates that out of the $1.6 bln invested in ICOs this year, $150 mln have ended up in the hands of cybercriminals.

    In other words, 10 percent of raised funds end up in the wrong hands. This accounts for approximately 30,000 victims losing an average of $7,500 each.

    Exploits, hacks, phishing and Ponzi

    The common cybercrimes on Ethereum can be categorized into four categories: exploits, hacks, phishing and Ponzi schemes.

    The highest grossing exploit was the DAO, but another $30 mln was stolen from the Parity wallet in June 2017.

    While some cyber criminals have opted for high profile hacks and exploits, phishing is actually driving the most revenue today.

    It now makes up more than 50 percent of all cybercrime revenue generated this year ahead of exploits which sometimes get the most coverage in the press due to their nature.

    Cybercrime

    Statistics on cybercrime on Ethereum are made possible given the public nature of the Blockchain that allows the analysis and auditing of transactions made on the network.

    More and more solutions are launched to keep tabs on Blockchain trends and extract intelligence out of it.

    The Ethereum technology is improving, and developers are writing more secure contracts which are positive trends. However, protecting users from phishing is a different matter.

    The Ethereum Scam Database, which has been created in 2017 by the MyEtherWallet team, regularly identifies and lists the ongoing scams, and it is worth checking before investing in an ICO.

    As usual there is a massive overreaction from news coming from China. It’s possible to say that the basis of latest announcement that China is banning ICOs and exchanges is unreliable as there has been no formal statement from a government official.

    The origin of the news was a Google translated article from a Chinese journalist, who apparently had spoken to some official. So the news is three layers from the original source.

    Last time China banned or wanted to stop Bitcoin, they reversed the situation some months after.

    Remember, China have many laws preventing capital flight, money leaving China, and we are not used to laws being verbal unsubstantiated statements, from non-government officials.

    Are some people having an agenda to pump Bitcoin and spook the market? This news may actually be doing everyone a favour, as it is likely to be the last time you can buy Bitcoin at these levels. We have just had it gifted to us, a 30 percent return as BTC will dipped below $4000 and then returned to business as usual.

    However Ether may not be so lucky

    Bitcoin isn’t the issue here. It’s Ether, which is largely the hub of the ICO community, that is likely to take a pounding, with the Ethereum network struggling to keep pace with demand. ICOs are, after all, the pump for Ether, and it is likely that ETH will continue to rise for the time being.

    Many ICOs are founded on poor ideas, and big ones could expose the market when founders fail to deliver what was promised, because they lack experience and have never run a business.

    Many ERC20 token launches in the past six months are based on bad ideas and flawed thinking where tokenomics don't work for investors.

    First ICOs get called out, run out of money, and many have delivered nothing to users or investors. But for the time being, ICOs will pump ETH and in 2018 we will see 5000 ICOs.

    Remember, remember

    Remember, Chinese investors are still out there, still buying into ICOs, and above all China is not the market, it is not Bitcoin, and the world of crypto will push on with or without them.

    China has and will reverse the decision, they are pumping mining pools like everyone else, Russia, America, India and the enterprise takeover continues…

    China banned Bitcoin, then changed its mind. China’s rules to prevent capital flight isn’t working. China cannot pick and choose the things it likes from capitalism, it’s capitalism that is paying to build China into what it is today.

    Ethereum beats bitcoin

    Het is een rustige avond in 2014 en ik verdiep me in bitcoin. Vanwege de slecht te bereiken websites lukt het me niet om 10 bitcoin te kopen a € 300 per stuk. In de weken erna ben ik te druk met andere investeringen om mijn goede geld in bitcoin te beleggen, maar tot op de dag van vandaag vraag ik me af, zelfs nu de koers 10 keer zo hoog is, of die ene storing mij voor een kleine ramp heeft behoed.

    U kent inmiddels de verhalen dat bitcoin te vergelijken is met de tulpenmanie, de huizencrisis en de dotcom-bubbel. Te veel geloof in gouden bergen met te weinig onderpand. Voor bitcoin geldt hetzelfde: het enige onderpand is geloof in de technologie.

    Cryptomunten hebben natuurlijk één geweldige eigenschap: je kan geld anoniem verschepen van de ene locatie naar de andere, zonder hoge kosten. Mocht je je zwarte (of zelfs criminele) geld even ergens anders neer willen zetten, dan kun je met een cryptomunt snel geld transporteren. Dit maakt cryptomunten uniek en geeft mij het geloof dat ze na de volgende crypto-crash gewoon blijven voortbestaan. Vervelend voor investeerders, maar goed voor de technologie.

    Terug naar het onderpand. Want er zijn ook munten mét onderpand. De interessantste is de huidige nummer 2: ethereum. Ethereum is namelijk een blockchain waarin van alles kan worden opgeslagen, met een nadruk op 'slimme contracten'. Slimme contracten zijn contracten die met een paar regels code automatisch uitgevoerd worden.

    Een simpele 'als-dan' is zo geïmplementeerd. Bijvoorbeeld: 'als jij een 9 haalt voor je tentamen, maak ik automatisch 1 bitcoin naar je over'. Deze slimme contracten worden voor van alles en nog wat gebruikt, zoals prijsbepaling van volatiele goederen, en grappig genoeg veelvuldig voor het maken van nieuwe cryptomunten.

    Het onderpand van ethereum is deze slimme contractfunctie, die wordt omarmd door grote organisaties, malafide cryptomunt-ondernemers en vele anderen. Mijn voorspelling is dan ook: alle cryptomunten gaan crashen. Maar ethereum is er eentje met een geweldig onderpand. Of, in investeerderslingo: bitcoin is Myspace, ethereum is Facebook.

    Een heel mooi verhaal over Ethereum, smart contracts in de blockchain!

    Wanneer je de blockchain wat beter onder de loep neemt dan zie je dat dit eigenlijk een geniaal administratiesysteem is dat zichzelf automatisch bijwerkt. Er is geen menselijke handeling meer nodig voor het bijwerken van dit systeem.

    Elk blockchain netwerk administreert iets dat waarde vertegenwoordigt. Ethereum is het eerste blockchain netwerk met een smart contracts functie. Er komen steeds meer van dit soort smart contracts blockchain netwerken op de wereld, veelal gebaseerd op Ethereum. Veel van deze blockchain netwerken zijn ontwikkeld voor een specifiek doel of worden gebruikt voor een eigen ecosysteem.

    Voorbeeld: In een discotheek kan ik mijn drankjes alleen met consumptiemuntjes afrekenen. Deze consumptiemuntjes kan ik kopen bij de kassa vlak bij de ingang.
    Stel we zetten nu deze consumptiemuntjes in de blockchain en noemen het: de disco token. Het ecosysteem is de disco, want buiten dit systeem kun je niet met je disco token betalen. Het doel is duidelijk, je kunt er alleen consumpties mee afrekenen. Je kunt dit "smart" maken, door bijvoorbeeld een maximum aan consumpties per persoon toe te kennen.

    Maar nu:
    Wanneer deze stelling klopt: De waarde van een bedrijf komt overeen met alle aandelen bijelkaar opgeteld.

    Dan zou deze stelling ook moeten kloppen:
    De waarde van een blockchain netwerk komt overeen met de totale waarde aan contracten (of tokens) dat ermee wordt geadministreerd.

    In dit voorbeeld, zal de disco token dus net zoveel waard zijn als de consumpties die ermee kunnen worden afgerekend.

    En wanneer de stelling klopt, dan staan we volgens mij nog aan het begin van ecosystemen met een eigen blockchain netwerk. En staan we dus ook aan het begin van grote blockchain netwerken die grote waarde kunnen representeren, waarbij Ethereum voorop loopt. En kan de waarde van ALLE blockchain netwerken met een specifieke token of functie veel verder omhoog.
