    Centered around signing the deals that will transform Africa’s energy sector, African Energy Week (AEW) (https://www.AECWeek.com/) — running this week from October 18-21 — provides the ideal platform for energy companies, African governments and global financiers to secure partnerships and long-term agreements. In line with this agenda, French engineering and technology company, Technip Energies, has inked a deal with the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) that will see the parties collaborate on the development of the country’s 2022 oil and gas discoveries made by Shell and TotalEnergies.

    Present at the signing were representatives from both Technip Energies and NAMCOR, with the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by Immanuel Mulunga, CEO of NAMCOR and Loic Chapuis SVP Gas and Low Carbon Energy, Technip Energies.

    As per the terms of the MoU, Technip Energies will help assist NAMCOR with the development of the country’s two large-scale oil and gas discoveries made earlier this year, providing technology services to help get these discoveries onstream as soon as possible.

    "We are here to sign a landmark MoU between the Namibian government and Technip Energies. NAMCOR will sign on behalf of the government of Namibia. We are excited about the two discoveries made this year and want to start discussing with a world-class company like Technip Energies to see how they can assist us get these discoveries onstream," stated Mulunga.

    "We are honored and excited to sign this partnership deal to enhance our presence in Africa. Namibia is a key focus for us and the development of these discoveries perfectly aligns with our agenda as Technip Energies.     Technip Energies eyes exit from Arctic LNG 2 project in H1 2023

    (Reuters) - Technip Energies expects to fully exit the liquefied natural gas project (LNG) Arctic LNG 2 led by Moscow-listed gas producer Novatek next year, the French oil and gas services provider said on Thursday.

    The group, which said in March it was renouncing new business opportunities in Russia, had expected Western sanctions enacted against Russia after its invasion of Ukraine to reduce the company's involvement in Arctic LNG 2.

    "We have signed an Exit Framework Agreement (...) and anticipate completing this process within the first half of 2023," Chief Executive Officer Arnaud Pieton said in an earnings statement.

    Finance chief Bruno Vibert told reporters in a call that the project's revenue contribution would be greatly reduced in the second half of the year and the next.

    Before what Moscow calls its "special military operation", Arctic LNG 2 was set to be launched in 2023 and reach full production capacity of almost 20 million tonnes of LNG a year in 2026.

    The stock of Technip Energies, which specialises in engineering and technology for the energy industry, has recovered much of the ground lost in the immediate aftermath of the invasion, when the shares halved in value in just ten days.

    As the European Union braces for a tighter squeeze in Russian gas supply, Pieton pointed to the "urgent need" to invest in LNG and low-to-zero carbon solutions.

    "We expect a significant improvement in order intake trends over the next 12-18 months," he said.

    Including the expected contribution from Arctic LNG 2, Technip Energies forecast full-year revenue of 6.2-6.5 billion euros ($6.1-$6.3 billion) and a recurring core margin of 6.7%-6.9%.

    Its adjusted revenue in the third quarter amounted to 1.60 billion euros, against 1.67 billion a year earlier.

    Misschien tijd dat iemand zegt dat het verhaal van seekingsalpha over de negatieve EV met een korreltje zout gelezen moet worden. De grote kaspositie is voor bedoeld voor de contractuele verplichtingen. Wel is zo dat die aan het eind van het 3e kwartaal zo'n 350 miljoen lager liggen dan de kas.

    A statement from the African Energy Chamber (AEC) said JGC Corp., Technip Energies and KBR had signed on to the FEED work. The companies signed the agreement to develop Nigeria’s first FLNG project on November 16, in London.

    The Nigerian company intends to deploy an FLNG vessel on OML 104. ExxonMobil and Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. (NNPC) control the block.

    UTM did not respond to a request for comment on whether it had finalised a gas sales agreement with the block owners.

    The AEC statement cited Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Timipre Sylva as saying the plan would develop resources in a sustainable manner. The plan would help reduce gas flaring, he said.

    “We have already proclaimed that gas is our transition fuel and a destination fuel, and we anticipate that it will be a major component of our energy mix by the year 2060,” said Sylva. “As a government we know our action is essential to enable evolution of the energy system. We believe innovation, technology and policy will be the key drivers of change.”

    UTM’s FLNG project is “timely and will lead towards a faster-moving, more diverse and more flexible global LNG industry”.

    Right sizing
    UTM chairman and CEO Julius Rone said the LNG market was “stuck with traditional models”. These, he said, “do not address the world’s demand for low cost, flexible LNG to become a preferred fuel of choice over coal and liquids”.

    Using a standardised FLNG design can cut costs by 20-40%, he continued. This allows companies to take a final investment decision (FID) on quantities as small as 1.5-2.5 million tonnes per year. “And this is where the UTM offshore FLNG project will hold sway, having the desired impact as well as influence.”

    Technip Energies will be responsible for the hull and the mooring system design while JGC will handle the topsides design.

    HAL heeft een groot belang in de sector waar Technip actief is. De overige belangen kunnen profiteren van HALs' aandelenbelang in Technip en andersom kan Technip weer profiteren van de belangen die HAL heeft de sector.

    In 2015 kreeg SBM nog een order van de moeder van Technip Energies. Die moeder werd/wordt gezien als een concurrent van SBM Offshore. Sinds 2021 is Technip Energies zelfstandig.
    BM Offshore gaat drie zogeheten 'turret mooring'-systemen, waarmee een drijvend platform aan de zeebodem wordt verankerd, leveren aan het Franse Technip. Dat maakte de dienstverlener aan de olie- en gasindustrie maandag bekend, zonder daarbij financiële details te melden.

    Het turret mooring system kan het platform om de verankering heen draaien. Technip moet nog een definitieve investeringsbeslissing nemen voor het project waarvoor de systemen worden geleverd. Dat besluit wordt in de tweede helft van 2016 verwacht.

    Aker Solutions with Technip and SBM awarded contract on Shtokman

    Shtokman Development AG has awarded a consortium comprising Aker Solutions, Technip France and SBM Offshore a contract for the Concept Definition and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the Floating Production Unit (FPU) for the Integrated Development of the Shtokman Gas & Condensate Field Phase I project. The contract value is Euro 25 million.

    The scope of work includes design, FPU concept definition, FEED design for the hull, turret & mooring system and topsides. The work will be performed by an integrated team involving the three partners of the Consortium, with Aker Solutions as leader. The consortium is committed to take any opportunity to increase the Russian content and transfer its technology as per the guide line given by SDAG.

    The consortium will also tender for the full an Engineering, Procurement Supply Construction and Commissioning (EPSCC) contract in 2010.

    The work will start immediately and be carried out over the next 12 months.

    SBM Offshore heeft Philippe Barril aangesteld als Chief Operating Officer (COO). Dat maakte SBM vrijdag bekend.

    Barril was eerder operationeel directeur bij het Franse Technip. Hij treedt per 1 maart in dienst bij SBM. De benoeming wordt voorgelegd aan de aandeelhoudersvergadering op 15 april.
