Electric Royalties Provides Update on Authier Lithium Royalty
    Tue, March 7, 2023 at 1:45 PM GMT+1

    finance.yahoo.com/news/electric-royal...

VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / March 7, 2023 / Electric Royalties Ltd. (TSXV:ELEC)(OTCQB:ELECF) ("Electric Royalties" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Sayona Mining Limited (ASX:SYA) ("Sayona") has voluntarily submitted its Authier Lithium Project (or "Authier") for an environmental impact assessment and review under the Québec Government's ‘BAPE' (Bureau d'audiences publiques en environnement) process. According to Sayona's news release dated February 27, 2023, its request has been accepted by Québec's Ministry of the Environment, the Fight Against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks.

The BAPE's mission is assist government decision-making by communicating to the environment minister findings and opinions that reflect any local concerns that are based on the principles of the Sustainable Development Act.

Sayona also reported that its nearby North American Lithium ("NAL") operation in Québec, Canada, is on track to recommence spodumene (lithium) production in March 2023. The start-up of process operation was reportedly successful, and comprises the circulation of mineralized material through the entire system, from crushing through sorting, grinding and separation. Authier is envisioned by Sayona to become a source of spodumene feed for the NAL concentrator.

As a result, the Authier Project no longer requires its own concentrator or tailings storage, and the planned daily output below the 2,000-tonne threshold has resulted in a considerably reduced environmental impact compared to the original regulatory submission.

Electric Royalties holds a 0.5% gross metal royalty on the Authier Lithium Project.

David Gaunt, P.Geo., a Qualified Person who is not independent of Electric Royalties, has reviewed and approved the technical information in this release.

    About Electric Royalties Ltd.
Electric Royalties is a royalty company established to take advantage of the demand for a wide range of commodities (lithium, vanadium, manganese, tin, graphite, cobalt, nickel, zinc and copper) that will benefit from the drive toward electrification of a variety of consumer products: cars, rechargeable batteries, large scale energy storage, renewable energy generation and other applications.

Electric vehicle sales, battery production capacity and renewable energy generation are slated to increase significantly over the next several years and with it, the demand for these targeted commodities. This creates a unique opportunity to invest in and acquire royalties over the mines and projects that will supply the materials needed to fuel the electric revolution.

Electric Royalties has a growing portfolio of 21 royalties, including two royalties that currently generate revenue. The Company is focused predominantly on acquiring royalties on advanced stage and operating projects to build a diversified portfolio located in jurisdictions with low geopolitical risk, which offers investors exposure to the clean energy transition via the underlying commodities required to rebuild the global infrastructure over the next several decades towards a decarbonized global economy.

FIRST LITHIUM CONCENTRATE PRODUCED AT NAL

    • First spodumene (lithium) concentrate produced at North American Lithium (NAL) operation in Québec; commissioning proceeding on schedule and within budget
    • Large scale drilling program planned with Jourdan Resources of over 50,000m at NAL and Jourdan’s adjacent Vallée Lithium Project (earn-in claims)
    • New drilling program one of the largest in Québec in 2023, targeting defining larger resource base capable of supplying more tonnes and enhanced material quality to NAL concentrator.

    On we go, Sayona

1,200 TONNES SALEABLE LITHIUM CONCENTRATE PRODUCED AT NAL Highlights
    • First saleable (commercial grade) spodumene (lithium) concentrate produced at North American Lithium (NAL) operation in Québec, Canada
    • Approximately 1,200 tonnes produced including SC6 (6% lithium grade), demonstrating ability to produce commercial concentrate in new milestone for NAL restart
    • Sayona on track to become North America’s leading hard rock lithium producer, contributing to Québec’s electrification drive amid continuing battery/EV investment surge.

NAL’s restart continues to proceed on schedule and within budget, with the first lithium shipment expected to occur in July 2023. Sayona is targeting total production between 85,000 tonnes and 115,000t during the first half of fiscal 2024 (refer ASX release 17 February 2023).

First commercial-grade spodumene concentrate produced at North American Lithium (NAL) operation in Québec
    19 March 2023

    www.greencarcongress.com/2023/03/2023...

Emerging lithium producer Sayona Mining Limited reported the successful production of the first saleable spodumene (lithium) concentrate at its North American Lithium (NAL) operation in Québec, Canada.

NAL is a brownfield open pit mining operation with a concentrator, with more than C$400 million having been invested in the operation by previous owners, including a carbonate plant. The existing plant has nameplate capacity to produce up to 220kt of spodumene concentrate or 30kt LCE per year.

Commissioning activities continue to progress, with approximately 1,200 tonnes of lithium concentrate produced, including SC6 (6% lithium grade). Sayona said that this demonstrates its ability to produce a commercial concentrate, following the recent successful production of the first lithium concentrate.

Typical run-of-mine ore can contain approximately 1-2% Li2O; spodumene concentrate suitable for lithium carbonate production contains 6-7% Li2O. NAL’s total open cut and underground mineral resource (JORC Resource, measured, indicated and inferred) is for 1.06% Li2O.

Broadly, to create spodumene concentrate, the mined spodumene-bearing ore is crushed and ground, then subjected to beneficiation to separate the spodumene from other minerals and impurities. The spodumene concentrate is then roasted to remove any remaining impurities. Specific steps and conditions can vary based on ore deposit and processing plant.

NAL’s restart continues to proceed on schedule and within budget, with the first lithium shipment expected to occur in July 2023. Sayona is targeting total production between 85,000 tonnes and 115,000t during the first half of fiscal 2024.

Engineering is now progressing on the next sub-project, the Crushed Ore Storage Dome, with close expediting of engineering deliverables implemented.

Sayona’s Managing Director, Brett Lynch said the production of NAL’s first saleable concentrate was a major milestone for the operation’s restart, reflecting the improvements made to enhance production.

The NAL operation will represent the most significant source of hard rock lithium production in North America, boosting Québec’s plans for the development of a local battery sector, from mining to manufacturing.

Sayona has also announced plans for further drilling both at NAL and Jourdan Resources’ adjacent Vallée Lithium Project (earn-in claims). More than 50,000 meters of drilling are planned, likely one of Québec’s largest drilling programs this year.
