    Ik dacht dat het misschien wel eens tijd werd voor een nieuw draadje met verder geen andere intenties, hooguit een vertrekpunt waar we een start mee kunnen maken. Mijn inschatting is dat we aan het eind van de maand april ergens tegen de 5 euro zouden kunnen staan. Wat zijn jullie gedachten ?

    'Nokia en Microsoft willen RIM overnemen'

    Nu fabrikant RIM van de BlackBerrytelefoons met zijn rug tegen de muur staat, steken opnieuw geruchten de kop op dat Nokia en Microsoft het bedrijf zouden willen overnemen, met het doel hiermee het marktaandeel voor Windows Phone en Nokia flink te vergroten.

    Dit zou dan echter wel op de voorwaarden van Nokia en Microsoft gebeuren. Het BlackBerry OS wordt vervangen door Windows Phone en de BlackBerry Enterprise-servers van RIM worden vervangen door de Exchange-servers van Microsoft. Waardoor er feitelijk weinig overblijft van de BlackBerry's en van RIM.

    RIM heeft het afgelopen jaar voor het eerst een flink verlies geleden. Dat noopt het bedrijf tot maatregelen; het licenseren van het BlackBerry OS aan Samsung is wellicht een idee, maar ook een verkoop van het hele bedrijf behoort wellicht tot de mogelijkheden.

    Informanten van Electronista melden dat in het geval van een totale verkoop van RIM, Nokia en Microsoft vooraan staan om de boedel gezamenlijk over te nemen. Ook de Wall Street Journal maakt hier melding van.

    RIM verkoopt steeds minder BlackBerry's en ook de PlayBooktablet doet het niet goed op de markt, ondanks een flinke prijsverlaging. De nieuwe CEO Thorsten Heins heeft na het bekend worden van de laatste kwartaalcijfers twee managers uitgegooid, en bezint zich nu op de toekomst van het bedrijf.

    Moet het eerst nog eens zien gebeuren!

    Wat is de toegevoegde waarde van RIM voor Microsoft en die voor Nokia alleen de faktor "marktaandeel"?

    Nokia kan op dit moment geen financiele brokken piloot gebruiken en zal Microsoft toch echt de kar moeten trekken.

    Concentratie op uitrol Lumia en Tablet W8 lijkt mij nu toch eerste prioriteit voor Nokia!

    Maar ik zie op dit moment het voordeel niet of is dit te kort door de bocht?

    “We believe that there are two issues for RIM that relate to NOK,” he writes. “First, we believe that RIM is now where NOK was approximately a year ago. There was no longer any doubt as to the declining state of the smartphone business but also no clear path to recovery. As we know from Nokia’s last year, the recovery required bold action and the a long lead time to the actual point of product improvement. We believe investors should wait until the recovery is clear which in our view is not yet the case with RIM, but is now on the near horizon for NOK.”

    “Second, RIM management on the quarterly conference call made it abundantly clear that the company is seeking a new partnership that will allow it to enhance its consumer appeal but allow it to focus its attention on its core historical strength with the enterprise,” he adds. “We believe that this strategy carries a number of risks, but also believe that Nokia/Microsoft represents the most likely candidate for such a partnership. We have no data points to support that this will happen or that Nokia/Microsoft would want it to, but believe it to be a real possibility over the next six months. Should it occur we believe it would be perceived as a meaningful positive for NOK shares.”

    Nou ik zie ook nog niet zo waarom dat zo goed voor het aandeel Nokia is, ze hebben zoals Sjaky60 ook zegt al hun aandacht nodig om de samenwerking met Microsoft, het op de kaart zetten van de Nokia Lumia en straks een introductie van een nieuw tablet te realiseren. Het gaat bovendien een bom geld kosten, ook al is dat misschien een "goedkope" deal maar toch... Ik denk dat het de balans negatief beïnvloedt of de koers van het aandeel misschien doet verwateren . Vooralsnog ben ik er niet zo gelukkig mee maar we zullen zien.

    Overigens valt me op dat Apple geregeld negatief in de publiciteit komt. Is het niet over de garantiestellingen in Europa, dan gaat het over de werkomstandigheden in China, dan weer over de discussie over de nano sims. Als dat zo door blijft gaan, dan komt er positieve ruimte voor Nokia, kijk maar eens naar het nieuws van Louis ten aanzien van de profilering door At&T. Er wachten ons nog mooie tijden.

    wat is er mis met een goedkope deal ?
    lijkt me goed voor de koers ;)
    en ik snap niet hoe de koers van het aandeel gaat verwateren ??

    match met rim lijkt me zelf niet zo slecht omdat ze gewoon veel meer ervaring hebben met smartphones en hoewel beperkt het marktaandeel dat ze er in een hap krijgen is ook mooi meegenomen.
    en het kan ook een strategische zet zijn omdat je niet wil dat de concurrent ermee van doorgaat.

    ach we zien het allemaal wel wat er gaat gebeuren.
    en het is leuk dat de lumia nu een hype lijkt te zijn maar het is veel belangrijker als dat over een paar jaar nog zal zijn.

    Koersdoel Apple boven 1000 dollar

    Een analist verhoogt het koersdoel van Apple, hoe goed het aandeel ook is maar dit staat toch in geen enkele verhouding met de combinatie Microsoft en Nokia. Dan valt er gewoon de komende jaren een enorme sprong te maken als het succes een keer duidelijk wordt. Apple staat nou op 615 dollar sjonge,sjonge waar gaat dat heen. Zelf denk ik dat er een keer flink winst genomen wordt en er in een nieuwe "winner " van de markt wordt geïnvesteerd. En over wat voor een koersdoelen hebben we het hier dan? Enfin we zullen zien maar ik blijf over Nokia nog altijd erg positief!

    Die "analist" zal wel long in Apple zitten en dan roepen $ 1000 en alleman wil nog even in het aandeel dus die koers nog even oprekken naar $ 700/ $750 en dan dumpen die handel en een ander zit met de gebakken peren! Die geintjes moeten ze bij mij niet meer aan komen!

    Verschillende grote VS investeerders zijn bezig hun porto op Apple af te bouwen en ik ga er niet meer in boven de $ 600!.

    We kunnen hier ook wel gaan roepen dat Nokia"s oude tijden herleven met koersdoelen van $ 40 echter de relaliteit is dat we op dit moment met een koersdoel van $ 7,80/ $ 8,00 dik tevreden moeten zijn want combinatie Nokia/Microsoft moet de markt gaan overtuigen en de voorlopige berichten zijn hoopgevend en bij de huidige koers van Nokia wil ik ze wel in porto hebben. Maar ik zet er op dit moment niet al mijn geld op en 3x de huidige koers in 2014/2015 dan is het voor mij al dik in orde!

    Ik zie ook geen synergie met RIM & NOK/MSFT, integendeel ze mogen opnieuw gaan herstructureren in RIM wat zeker een jaar zal kosten om hieruit te raken. Deze tijd hebben ze niet meer, NU is het moment om terug te keren. Daarenboven is NOK toch heel wankel, nu in zo een avontuur stappen is zelfmoord...dat is mijn visie. Laat RIM verkommeren....pik zijn marktaandeel in...

    SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Microsoft Corp. and Nokia Corp. are not accustomed to playing the role of underdog.

    Yet, despite the fact that the two companies sat atop their respective industries for many years, underdog is exactly the role they find themselves in as they work together to launch the Lumia 900 Windows-based smartphone this weekend.

    The device marks Nokia’s NOK -4.52% most ambitious attempt to crack the North American smartphone market that has largely shut out the Finnish company, despite its past success in the traditional cellphone business. It’s a market that’s crucial to the company’s long-term survival, as Nokia has seen its annual revenue base slide more than 27% over the past four years — with last year resulting in its first net loss since 1993, according to data from FactSet Research.

    For Microsoft MSFT -2.29% , the launch of the Lumia 900 will be a key indicator of public interest for its Windows Phone mobile operating system, which has been on the market for 18 months but has barely made a dent against competing platforms from Apple Inc. AAPL -0.80% and Google Inc. GOOG -1.16%

    “For Nokia, this is a pretty big deal,” said Mark McKechnie, wireless market analyst for ThinkEquity. “The U.S. is home to the smartphone business, and they’ve been visibly absent from the U.S. for years. There’s a lot riding on this for Nokia, and for Microsoft, no doubt.”

    Nokia first unveiled the Lumia 900 in January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The device features a 4.3-inch, high-definition touch-screen, and 8 megapixel camera and runs on a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm QCOM -1.09% . It is similar in design to the Lumia 800 Windows-based smartphone that launched in Europe late last year. See full story on the introduction of the Lumia 900.

    The Lumia 900 is going on sale exclusively with AT&T T +0.45% on Sunday. The device will be available for an introductory price of $100 with a two-year contract. The carrier is also launching the HTC Titan II for $200 on the same date, as the carrier’s first pair of Windows-based smartphones using the next-generation LTE network.

    Mossberg: Lumia 900 is 'mixed bag'
    Nokia's Lumia 900 is an improved version of a Windows phone, but it has some flaws, Walt Mossberg reports on digits.

    For AT&T, which built a strong base of smartphone users through its exclusive access to the popular iPhone for its first three years on the market, the Lumia represents a way for the carrier to broaden this part of its business away from its heavy reliance on Apple.

    “AT&T is definitely looking for more ways than just Apple to make money on smartphones. They haven’t been very successful on that to date, said McKechnie.

    Archrival Verizon VZ -0.18% has built a strong following with its Android phones, and now has access to the iPhone as well. AT&T also sells Android devices, but the weakness of the BlackBerry franchise from Research In Motion Ltd. RIMM -1.92% has both carriers looking for alternatives to the Apple-Google duopoly that accounted for about 75% of all smartphone sales globally in the fourth quarter, according to data from Gartner Inc.

    Reviews of the Lumia — and the Windows Phone OS it runs on — have been largely positive, though many wonder if the device is enough to woo customers away from the iPhone and Android products.

    “I think this device is going to be the device to get people to consider an alternative to Android,” said Gartner analyst Carolina Milanesi, who added that Android customers are less loyal to the platform’s “ecosystem” than are iPhone users. “It’s going to be much harder to take people away from Apple.”

    Gartner projects that Windows Phone will grow to about 8.6% of the global smartphone market by the end of 2012, largely from the support of Nokia. It accounted for less than 2% of the devices sold in the fourth quarter, the firm said.

    Nokia’s ‘beachhead’

    The Lumia, however, will be the most closely watched device, given its importance to Nokia’s effort to gain a foothold in the U.S. smartphone market. While the company has long been a global leader in basic cellphones, it has been a virtual shut out from the smartphone market, mostly due to its previous focus on the Symbian operating system.

    Last February, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop — a former Microsoft executive who had recently taken the top job at the Finnish cellphone giant — circulated a memo to employees now known as the “burning platform” letter, in which he noted that the company had been lapped by Apple and Google in smartphones.

    Heb nog een dozijn Lumia 900 opgepakt (was nog een hele tour want ze vliegen als warme broodjes over de counter) en i.p.v. eieren verstop ik deze maar met de pasen het komend weekeinde!

    Hoop dat de 1e kwartaal rapportage Nokia niet teveel roet in het eten gooit en de koers in het 2e kwartaal wat los komt voorlopig maar richting 5 euro?????

    Afgelopen twee dagen, echt aan de vooravond van de lancering is er in de VS juist een enorm gebash aan de gang tegen de Lumia. Een of andere opa die blijkbaar de techzaken doet voor de Wall Street Journal heeft zitten mekkeren over zijn wifi-verbinding thuis, vingervlekken op het scherm of het karig aantal apps (hij had er zeker een miljoen nodig ;)
    En een analist weet te melden dat 'Lumia sales seen fizzling' (verkoop moet nog goed en wel beginnen, weer een ander schrijft dat Nokia er maar zo'n 600.000 per kwartaal in de VS zal verkopen.. ook knap. Zeg dan meteen natte vingerwerk.
