This company is in credibility freefall.
Galapagos has proved that if you do what you set out to do. Say what you are going to do...and here is the part Crucell does not seem to grasp...and then do it...the PPS will move up...dramatically
Don't get sidetracked by stupidity...like biosimiliars, West Nile vaccine (sorry idiots...but 500 deaths a year is NEVER GOING TO A VACCINE GOING), SARS, Factor V, etc
Don't dilute shares EVERY CHANCE YOU GET
Don't overpay lightweight management who couldn't manage their way out of a paper bag
Don't pay top dollar for an IR chick if you are going to shut down the IR department 361 days a years...even if she is hot in a bathing suit.
Yes, Galapagos proves even a Dutch company can be competently run...maybe this concept can be picked up by Crucell.
Crucell please break the bad streak of incompetence:
1. Missed 2Q09 earnings/revenues/margins by 20%
2. Taken to the woodshed by Panacea and Shantha and lost 55% of the market share
3. Sold future of company to J+J for 30 million euro...period...they are getting nothing out of J+J for another 3 years...period. J+J (just like Buffett vetoing a Kraft deal because he holds 20%) can veto any takeover made by any other company...don't expose your ignorance by claiming otherwise.
4. Then missed 3Q09 earnings/revenues/margins by 20%
And that is the entirety of the news released by Crucell in the last 6 months. They have decided to keep shareholders completely in the dark 100% of the time.
What the F**k is going to happen in 4Q09? Are they going to claim they didn't know Christmas is in December? Are they going to claim another bogus POC? Are they going to lose more market share to other two-bit, third world, second rate biotechs? Are they going to push another pie-in-the-sky, made-up redherring like biosimiliars or Factor V L/C? Are we going to hear "Biggest Deal Ever", "You know, you know", "Soon Very Soon", "Keep our promises", "don't look at earnings, revenues or margins...look at what we say is important", "Microsoft of Biotech", "Won't dilute shares", "Trust us", "building shareholder value", "25 million in savings through our healthy ambition program...why don't we have 25 million more in earnings...well you know, we have cash flow, you know...can I talk to you after we have 6 cocktails after the CC and I will explain it then", "Yes my hair does look terrific", "thank you to all our non-payroll employees".
Yes, Crucell needs to look to Galapagos to see how even a Dutch Biotech company can have integrity and make its PPS go up. Because despite what many would claim...6 years of value building is long enough...the price should actually go up by now or there is only one thing to do.
Don't give management any more shares to squander
Don't give management any more options
Most important, fire the person most responsible for the embarrassment that is Crucell...Ronald Brus
