    SWIFTWATER, Pa., and LYON, France, Nov 07, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines division of sanofi-aventis Group, announced today that it has initiated Phase II testing of its cell culture-based seasonal influenza vaccine in the U.S. The initiation of Phase I was announced on Sept 25, 2006. This project is part of a contract awarded in 2005 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) aimed at accelerating the development of a new cell culture- based influenza vaccine. Phase II trials involving healthy adult volunteers in the U.S. will focus further on the safety profile and immunogenicity of the cell-based vaccine. This vaccine was developed using the PER.C6(R) cell line, licensed from Dutch biotechnology company, Crucell N.V. PER.C6 Cell technology offers Sanofi Pasteur a promising and reliable production method for seasonal and pandemic influenza vaccines in addition to traditional, proven egg-based production. The production scale potential of the PER.C6 cell line has been demonstrated in a successful bioreactor run of 20,000 liters, suggesting robustness of PER.C6 technology and further showing that this may be a suitable cell line for large-scale manufacturing of its influenza vaccine. This scale-up process was achieved under a subcontracting agreement between Sanofi Pasteur and Lonza Biologics plc (Lonza Group). As the world leader in the research, development and manufacture of influenza vaccines, Sanofi Pasteur is actively involved in other projects in the U.S. and Europe with the goal of developing new influenza vaccines. Seasonal Influenza Overview Influenza is a highly infectious virus that spreads easily from person to person, primarily when an infected individual coughs or sneezes. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 5-15% of the population is affected with upper respiratory tract infections in annual influenza epidemics. Hospitalization and deaths mainly occur in high-risk groups (elderly, people with chronic conditions/illness). Although difficult to assess, these annual epidemics are thought to result in between three and five million cases of severe illness and between 300 000 and 500 000 deaths every year around the world(1). Most deaths currently associated with influenza in industrialized countries occur among the elderly over 65 years of age.

    Ik kan het echt niet meer anders bedenken:

    Ofwel het MT en afdeling IR leren niet van voorgaande missers en zitten met de handen over elkaar te wachten tot hun bedrijf de waarde krijgt die het verdient.

    Ofwel ze zijn met iets heel anders bezig wat veel groter is en wat wel al snel winst gaat opleveren.

    Ofwel ze zitten al in overnamegesprekken (hetgeen ik overigens ook betwijfel, maar dit soort mogelijkheden mag je nooit uitsluiten)

    Ofwel ze zitten in zak en as en moeten alle zeilen bijzetten om de prognose te halen en zijn hier druk mee bezig.

    Ofwel en als laatste mogelijkheid: de verantwoordelijken zitten ver weg op een conferentie en hebben de afdeling IR niet in de hand.

    Ik begrijp de discussie niet. Crucell heeft altijd aangegeven dat zij geen informatie verstrekken over de clinical trials of ontwikkelingen bij hun partners. dat is aan de partners zelf om er mee naar buiten te treden.
    Kortom ze hanteren hier een bewust beleid dat ze al jaren hanteren en zijn dus consistent en consequent bezig.
    In mijn ogen niks op aan te merken.

    PARIS, Nov. 7, 2007 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) -- Sanofi-Aventis (NYSE:SNY) said its vaccines unit, Sanofi Pasteur, has launched Phase II testing of its cell culture-based seasonal influenza vaccine in the US.

    The vaccine uses a cell line licenced from Crucell NV (NASDAQ:CRXL) , and Sanofi said a test run showed potential for large-scale production.

    Robert, kijk even naar de euro-dollar, goud, olie.
    Werp ook een blik op de indices.

    Tja, als het moet dan moet het he .....conlusie het moest dus niet.

    Alles is gek aan het worden maar wel met verband want als de olie prijs stijgt dan stijgt het goud en daalt de $. Als de beurs zwaar daalt moet er van alles worden terug gedraaid worden, (hedges,lenen,constructies enz.) dus dan stijgt de $ en daalt de rest.

    Wel leuk om te lezen dat de anaaaaalisten zich aan het indekken zijn tegen de onvoorspelbaarheid van de 3Q cijfers...............

    - Analisten verwachten dat de derdekwartaalcijfers van verzekeraar Aegon, die donderdag voorbeurs gepubliceerd worden, niet tot vuurwerk zullen leiden op de beurs. De grote verrassing zijn de winstcijfers zelf, aangezien de cijfers van Aegon traditioneel moeilijk te voorspellen zijn als gevolg van volatiele items onder de IFRS boekhoudregels en de winsten op beleggingen. Een betekenisvolle consensus valt dan ook niet op te maken uit de vooruitblikken van analisten.

    Amsterdam (BETTEN BEURSMEDIA NEWS) - Sanofi Pasteur is gestart met een fase II klinisch onderzoek naar zijn griepvaccin gebaseerd op celculturen. Bij de ontwikkeling van dit vaccin heeft Sanofi Pasteur gebruikgemaakt van de PER.C6 cellijn onder licentie van Crucell. Dit heeft Crucell woensdag laten weten na een persbericht van Sanofi Pasteur.

    PER.C6 is gebaseerd op een menselijke cellijn. De technologie is ontwikkeld voor het produceren van vaccins, antistoffen en andere biotechnologische producten die effectiever zijn en mogelijk minder bijwerkingen hebben dan producten die niet zijn ontwikkeld op basis van menselijk materiaal.

    Is in ieder geval niet zo'n heel duur hotel, scheelt weer in de uitgaven!

    In mijn ogen al kijkend naar het orderboek is er een of meer partijen bezig hun gemiddelde aankoopkoers van het aandeel naar beneden aan het halen. Een beetje uitroken van de standaard belegger.
    M.a.w. zij verwachten wel binnenkort een stijging van de koers!! Immers in het geval dat ze dat niet verwachten dan zou hun bezit teveel in waarde gaan dalen dat mag natuurlijk ook weer niet.
    Wordt er gespeculeerd op goede kwartaalcijfers, of weten ze gewoon al meer?
