    'SBM-vertegenwoordiger krijgt zwijgrecht'

    RIO DE JANEIRO (AFN) - De Braziliaanse zakenman Júlio Faerman mag zich tijdens zijn verhoor voor een parlementaire onderzoekscommissie beroepen op zijn zwijgrecht. Dat meldden verschillende media in het land op basis van een uitspraak van het Hooggerechtshof.

    Volgens onderzoekers heeft Faerman als vertegenwoordiger van SBM Offshore steekpenningen betaald aan ambtenaren en medewerkers van staatsolieconcern Petrobras. Door de uitspraak van het Hooggerechtshof staat hij dinsdag bij het verhoor door de onderzoekscommissie niet formeel onder ede en mag hij bijstand krijgen van een advocaat.

    hij zou SBm wel kunnen ontlasten door bijv. t5e zeggen dat hij alles op eigen initiatief regelde zonder ruggespraak want zwijgen is geen goud vandaag voor SBM

    Eyeing 2018 vote, PT tries to shield Lula from Petrobras scandal

    The Workers' Party (PT) will start to push forward the 2018 presidential bid of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as soon as its 5th National Congress, set to start on Thursday in Salvador, Bahia. The group now controlling the party – and which carriers a majority of the congress' delegates – will advocate the coordination of a wide popular movement for the presidential election. The proposal was included in the “Salvador Declaration” slated to be unveiled on Tuesday.

    With this wide movement, the party will try to decouple Mr. Lula's image from the recent crises afflicting the PT. At the same time, the PT will try to show him as “the” left's candidate, with support from popular activists and parties now in the allied base of the Dilma Rousseff administration.

    “The structural reform program presupposes the construction of a democratic and popular front, of parties and social movements, from the culture and labor worlds, based on the identification with the changes proposed for the ongoing historic period,” the document states. “The front's strategy is our path to strike a new social alliance, which incorporate new and traditional sectors of the working class, the middle classes, intellectuals and business leaders sympathetic to our national project,” the declaration says.

    According to the PT's organization secretary, Florisvaldo de Souza, one of the politicians in charge of the majority group, the front should have a political character, but not a legal registration. “Our legislation doesn't provide for this front proposal. It will be a political proposal, in partnership with popular movements. We want to exchange the electoral line for the program one,” the party leader says.

    “We have a candidate for 2018 that hardly won't run,” Mr. Souza says. “He's our great leadership and his candidacy is an almost natural process, which we have to start to build,” the PT leader says.

    But, before that, the party will face the 2016 elections, where a very negative scenario looms ahead. The Rousseff government’s performance in the first half and the fiscal adjustment, which cut federal transfers to cities, hurt specially PT mayors that sought re-election, like Fernando Haddad in São Paulo. The party fears it will shrink substantially in the biggest municipalities and the majority group will present a resolution during the congress asking for a new focus and strategy to avoid 2016 from hurting the 2018 national election.

    The majority group has already changed its speech about the economic policy and now says Ms. Rousseff did what had to be done. It says the economy's bad phase is nearing the end and the president already points to the growth path, with the concessions package of nearly R$200 billion launched on Tuesday.

    BG plans to turn Açu Port into oil export hub

    The second largest oil producer in Brazil after Petrobras, BG wants to turn the Açu Port in Rio de Janeiro into a logistics export center for its pre-salt oil and gas production. The company has signed a 20-year contract with Prumo Logística to ship up to 200,000 barrels a day from August 2016, or 17% of the terminal's capacity. South America president Nelson Silva says the plan is to use Açu as a springboard for Asia and Americas exports as production rises in the next few years. Recently acquired by fellow major Shell, BG wants to again double its production in Brazil this year, after reporting an increase to 78,000 b/d in 2014. April production alone already rose to 133,000 b/d, making Brazil the group's top producer

    Petrobras plans to present its 2015-19 business plan to the board of the company on Tuesday, June 23. If the plan is approved, it could be released to the market on the same day or later, Valor has learned. The release date of the business plan is highly awaited in the market as it can indicate how the state-run company plans to invest and sell during the period to increase cash generation and de-leverage. The previous plan projected total investments of $206.8 billion over five years, indicating investment averaging $41.36 billion per year. Effectively, however, the company invested only $37 billion in 2014. The market now expects a reduction to something around $136 billion through 2019. For 2015, the company has already announced investments of $29 billion.

    wel weer goed gedaan van 'm: p-bras was net flink opgelopen, juiste docment opgespoord en beslissing genomen. kunnen we wat van leren. ook dat het ook weer niet zo moeilijk is. maar met die real en al die invest van China kan er van alles gebeuren ; komen die chinzen zelf de infra aanleggen of juist de braziliaanen, chinese contractors of niet. wat gaat DOj doen met P-bras, vast wel wat en soros weet het ongeveer..uit ouwe zaken waarsch.
