    HEIDELBERG, Germany – November 24, 2006 – Affimed Therapeutics AG announced today that opposition proceedings initiated by Crucell Holland B.V. against European Patent No. 0 440 147 B1 were not successful.

    European Patent No. 0 440 147 B1 covers the generation of IgM-based libraries from non-activated human peripheral blood lymphocytes. This patent was exclusively licensed to Affimed by Dade Behring Marburg GmbH, Germany. On October 31st, 2006, the competent Opposition Division of the European Patent Office ruled that the libraries and the methods of making them as claimed in this European Patent met all the requirements of the European Patent Convention.

    Ik zou wel eens willen weten , hoe zwaar deze tegenvaller is, teneinde dit mee te nemen in de fundamenten van de onderneming.
    Wie weet krijgt Petercam dadelijk nog gelijk met 13.80.
    Hoewel de 13.52 nog steeds open staat , heb ik daar lange tijd geen enkele rekening mee gehouden, maar een crash-scenario ( Niet Nu ) kan uiteindelijk een grafiek helemaal omgooien.

    Wacht nou ff op antwoord, voordat je dit soort "zware postings" schrijft.

    Correctie mijnerzijds: tegenvaller = vooralsnog "tegenvaller".

    Je moet ook zo uitkijken, hier...

    Josti, historisch gezien komt er een crash aan.
    Daar ben ik al veel langer van overtuigd.
    Het enige verschil is , dat ik met een AEX > 500 rekening gehouden had , alvorens de crash zich zou gaan voltrekken ( in 2007 ).
    De AEX zou daarna terugmoeten naar een nivo > 322 en < 385 , als correktie op de Bull-trend vanaf 217.80 naar 500+

    Maar nogmaals , het is mijn visie , waarbij ik nooit uitsluit dat die visie onjuist is, behalve het crash-scenario.
    Ik acht de kans dat die niet uitkomt , op slechts 1 %.

    Tsja wilb, met crash- en bullscenario's zijn al sinds de oprichting van IEX hele koffiekamers vol geschreven...
    Ik zie het allemaal wel, met alle respect.
    En al zal Crucell wellicht "mede-slachtoffer" worden bij het uitkomen van jouw voorspelling: bedrijf + aandeel volgen gedeeltelijk hoe dan ook een eigen weg, is de realiteit tot dusverre.

    Volgens mij heeft CRXL gekeken of een patent te kraken was. Niet dus.

    Volgens mij aan de orde van de dag in bioland. Lijkt er meer op dat Affimed een PB nodig had. Hoe vaak zal niet gekeken zijn of PER.C6 of STAR te kraken was door andere bio's. Kijk dan hebben we een nieuwsstroom uit Leiden ;)

    Crucell strengthens vaccine portfolio with SBL purchase

    28/11/2006 - Dutch biotech company Crucell said last week that it had completed its acquisition of SBL Vaccin in an agreement worth €39.4m, but remained tight-lipped about its plans for the Swedish firm’s contract manufacturing business.

    SBL's core product – and by far the main interest for Crucell - is Dukoral, an oral vaccine used to protect against cholera and ETEC (traveller's diarrhoea) and registered in over 50 countries.
    In 2004 SBL branched out into contract manufacturing, offering manufacture of biological bulk/active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and finished products for clinical trials as well as for market supply. This section of the business is very much secondary to the company's main focus on vaccine production and sales, but was intended to allow access to new ideas and fulfill production capacity.

    Crucell was unable to offer any comment on their plans for this section of the business, so it is unclear whether the firm will expand their capabilities by branching out in contract manufacturing further or continue to focus solely on their developing and copmmercialising vaccine portfolio.

    While SBL's contract manufacturing arm is currently fairly limited, a spokesman for the company asserted that they do not expect to lose their current customers.

    Crucell also recently acquired Florida-based Berna Products Corp (BPC) in October 2006, which gave them full control of the company's oral typhoid vaccine Vivotif. This latest acquisition is set to further strengthen Crucell's travel vaccines portfolio, as well as providing access to market-leading sales and marketing capabilities. The company's current catalogue includes vaccines against hepatitis B, five childhood diseases, and influenza, as well as travel vaccines including the market's only aluminium-free hepatitis B vaccine.

    Crucell intends to raise €80 million through the issue of new ordinary shares in order to fund the SBL acquisition, as well as refinance the BPC purchase and further corporate costs.

    Nee, heb geen inside info. Als ik het had, zou ik het niet plaatsen. Integriteit voorop.

    Volgens mij gaat het niet om wat erin de bank zit aan specificiteit tav herkenning, maar om het type faagbank. IgM vs IgG vs scFv vs....
    Ik heb nog nooit iets gezien van Crucell dat ze IgM banken hebben gemaakt, maar octrooien worden vaak breder aangevraagd om grotere toepassingen te beschermen. Ze zullen wel gedachten hebben dat Affimed de octrooien van Crucell mbt faagbanken had geschonden en dat is dus nu niet zo. Vandaar mijn conclusie .. voor C geen probleem.

    Voorspelling is een groot woord.
    er zijn lieden op bv Eurobench , die het elke week over een crash hebben , en dan eindelijk na 8 jaar of zo gelijk krijgen en de hele bull/bear market gemist hebben.
    In grotere tijdscycli , eindigt deze Bull-markt in 2007 ( althans , dat was mijn gedachte/berekening )
    Voorlopig hou ik het daar nog even op ( OF : top na de top )
    De tijdscycli geven een crash in 2007 aan met een kans van 99%.
    Dus hou ik er rekening mee.
    Net zo goed als de rente die de komende 18 jaar per saldo zal stijgen en het goud dat na een bearmarket van 20 jaar nu in een bullmarkt zit ( sinds 2001 )
