kan alleen dit zeggen, Rotorua council first to adopt a ‘Wood First’ policy. Rotorua council first to adopt a ‘Wood First’ policy Rotorua District Council is to become the first local authority in New Zealand to adopt a ‘Wood First’ Policy. The policy would be acknowledgement of the importance of the forestry and wood processing industries to district, regional and national economies. Rotorua’s decision to develop a Wood First policy was made at a meeting this morning [16 July] of the council’s Strategy, Policy & Finance Committee. It complements a proposal by the New Zealand Wood Council encouraging central government to adopt a similar policy at a national level. A report prepared for the council by business consultant Bryce Heard and presented at the committee meeting, noted that Rotorua sits at the heart of the country’s forestry industry. It said almost half of New Zealand’s wood total was harvested from central North Island forests within a hundred kilometres of Rotorua.www.scoop.co.nz/stories/AK1407/S00298... Rotorua...komt me bekend voor.....ach ja, New Zealand tech turns pine into hardwoodwww.nzherald.co.nz/building-construct...
Bouw fabriek Solvay binnen enkele maanden...... alweer????
Die beslissing zal vroeger vallen indien nodig, lijkt me logisch.

Bedankt

Accoya Clads Popular Visitor Centre in Ireland Published on : Wednesday, July 23, 2014 Accoya, the modified wood product manufactured by Accsys Technologies, has been selected to provide timber doors, brise soleil shading and external timber cladding to a number of new facilities at Airfield, a popular urban visitor attraction in south Dublin, Ireland. The Victorian estate, which encompasses the original Overend family home, farm and gardens, has benefited from significant refurbishment, renovation and landscaping in recent months. Chosen for its superior durability, it’s retention of natural aesthetic qualities with age and its origins as sustainable softwood, Accoya timber cladding now adorns the new restaurant and shop, education buildings and horticultural buildings. Manufactured using Accsys Technologies’ proprietary process and distributed by Abbey Woods in Ireland, Accoya is one of the most advanced modified wood products on the market delivering outstanding levels of performance, stability and class 1 durability. Exceeding the high-quality and aesthetic attributes of tropical hardwoods, it also boasts excellent environmental credentials by using wood sourced from FSC® certified and sustainable forests – while being non-toxic. Mike Haslam at Solearth Ecological Architecture, was lead architect for the project and specified the use of Accoya. He said: “Accsys Technologies’ application of acetylation technology makes softwoods – a sustainable timber option – perform just as well as, if not better than tropical hardwoods. Visually, Accoya was ideal for the overall design of Airfield, and we have great expectations for the durability and stability of our Accoya cladding.” Bryan Crennell, sales and marketing director for Accsys Technologies, said: “Accoya is proven as a sustainable, durable, and stable material, which is guaranteed against rot and decay for 50 years for exterior use, making it perfect for exterior cladding applications such as this. Acetylation – the very best in modification technology – allows the perfect match of this reliable, durable and dimensionally stable construction material with the sustainability and aesthetic requirements of Airfield.
Metsä Wood appointed as Official Accoya Distributor in France 23 july 2014, Metsä Wood has become an official distributor of Accoya, the world-leading modified wood product, manufactured by Accsys Technologies, in France. The agreement expands the wood’s availability in this region and continues Accoya’s phenomenal growth and success throughout the world. Bryan Crennell, director of sales and marketing for Accsys Technologies said: “We’re very pleased to be able to announce the appointment of Metsä Wood as a distributor of Accoya in France. This marks the continued growth and success of Accoya across the continent. Accoya’s durable, stable and aesthetic qualities have proved a popular choice with manufacturers, architects, builders and contractors alike and with impeccable environmental credentials, Accoya is establishing itself as the industry’s gold standard and world-wide market leader of modified wood”. Metsä Wood is well positioned as a leader in superior quality, ecologically certified wood to the French marketplace. Arnaud Le Gall, sales director from Metsä Wood said: “We enjoy working with Accoya due to its durable and stable structure and the fact that it retains its aesthetic qualities after use. Accoya is a perfect fit for our decking, cladding and joinery business and we are looking forward to distributing such a high quality wood product to leading manufacturers across France”. Manufactured using a revolutionary patented process, Accoya is one of the most advanced modified wood products on the market, using its unique cutting edge wood acetylation technology to deliver outstanding levels of performance, exceptional stability and the world’s highest classification on durability. Accoya boasts excellent environmental credentials and is made from wood sourced from FSC® certified and sustainable forests. As well as C2C Gold Accredited, the product is also carbon negative in window frames and 100% non-toxic. Accoya is currently being used in projects of architectural and constructional excellence throughout the world, including in the creation of an iconic garden at the International Garden Show in Chaumont-sur-Loire
