    HERE completes acquisition of Medio

    Medio's predictive analytics technology accelerates HERE vision to personalize mapmaking

    Berlin, Germany and Seattle, USA - Today HERE, a leader in mapping and location intelligence, completed the acquisition of Medio Systems Inc., a Seattle-based company that is a pioneer in the emerging field of real-time predictive analytics.

    Originally announced on June 12, 2014, the transaction is designed to enable HERE to rapidly innovate in the area of contextual mapmaking. We believe that with Medio, HERE will be able to more quickly deliver on its vision to create maps and location services across screens and operating systems that change according to the situation.

    "With Medio's predictive analytics capabilities we are strengthening our platform to deliver more personal experiences in cars, on mobile devices and to businesses," said Michael Halbherr, CEO of HERE. "Medio's technology will accelerate our vision to seamlessly bridge the real and virtual worlds. We believe that the focused investments we're making today will enable us to take maps far beyond where they are today to become a valuable source of location intelligence."

    The terms of the transaction are confidential.

    Medio's skilled team of about 60 employees will immediately work on integrating the predictive analytics technology they have successfully developed for numerous clients across industries into the HERE platform, while continuing to serve their existing client base.

    "HERE is executing rapidly towards its goal to provide the best-in-class location platform for customers across screens and operating systems," said Neil Shah, Director of Devices and Ecosystems at Counterpoint Research. "With the Medio acquisition, HERE combines its decades' long location expertise with Medio's real-time predictive analytics expertise. This will build a contextually intelligent spatial analytics platform in this highly location-aware mobile world. This is a powerful industry-leading platform for any business, in any vertical, to take their business intelligence, customer engagement, and decision making to the next level."

    HERE intends to share Medio's technology, as relevant, with the other two businesses of the Nokia Group, Nokia Networks and Nokia Technologies, to further capitalize on the acquisition.

    Nokia Networks to buy SAC Wireless to boost network implementation services in the U.S.

    Operator customers to enjoy proven services and capabilities that are unmatched in the industry

    July 2, 2014

    Espoo, Finland and Irving, Texas – Nokia Networks today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire SAC Wireless, a premier self-performing provider of infrastructure and network deployment solutions. Based in Schaumburg, Illinois, SAC Wireless has a national footprint and proven performance track record working with major telecom operators.

    Nokia Networks expects to close the transaction in the third quarter of 2014, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. The transaction is expected to bring clear revenue synergies.

    “This acquisition builds on our existing strengths and continued investment in our customers’ success. Once the transaction has been completed, it will help us increase market share in the network implementation space,” said Ricky Corker, executive vice president of North America for Nokia Networks. “With SAC Wireless’ capabilities complementing our own in-house expertise, we are well positioned to bring enhanced quality and increased end-to-end delivery efficiency to our customers. No other infrastructure provider is offering this level of proven services.”

    Complexities surrounding site acquisition, permitting, sub-contractor availability, and quality often hinder network rollout and time to market. As a result, operators want more direct control over their network deployments. Through this acquisition, Nokia Networks addresses these challenges head-on. SAC Wireless’ resources, including approximately 450 employees, and proven expertise complement Nokia Networks’ in-house capabilities to self-perform typically sub-contracted services.

    “As we continue to build an even stronger foundation for our U.S. services business, we see great opportunities to help our customers address the tough challenges of network deployment. These range from indoor/outdoor small cells, distributed antenna systems, 4G LTE upgrades, and solving backhaul connectivity and bandwidth issues,” said Jorg Erlemeier, vice president of North America Market Services for Nokia Networks. “SAC Wireless is to augment our existing network implementation service capabilities and increase the size and effectiveness of our delivery organization.”

    SAC Wireless’ services offer operators such business benefits as speed to market, quality implementation, and reduction of risks associated with complex deployment issues.

    These services include:

    The SAC Wireless Engine Room™, a revolutionary process focused on managing site development, architectural and engineering, regulatory and compliance activities for national network programs, providing increased quality, scalability and productivity while significantly reducing site development costs;

    Self-perform implementation of indoor and outdoor small cells and distributed antenna systems (DAS), RF engineering and design, construction management and services, Head-End Room development, BTS installation, commissioning, and system testing / optimization;

    Turnkey program management of large scale network deployments including: new site builds, network modernization, site hardening and survivability, fiber to the premise, microwave implementation and pathing, operations, and maintenance.

    Nokia Networks invests in mobile network multivendor optimization; buys a 3-D geolocation solution from NICE Systems

    July 3, 2014

    Espoo, Finland – Nokia Networks announced today that it has bought a broad solution for advanced geolocation* capabilities from NICE Systems (NASDAQ: NICE) to enhance the planning and optimization of mobile networks. Nokia Networks gains access to tools, technical expertise, and the right to further develop these capabilities.

    Geolocation uses three dimensional modelling aimed at delivering unparalleled accuracy of network performance for multivendor networks. We believe that when combined with Nokia’s services expertise, this technology helps to provide deep insight into traffic trends and the performance of mobile broadband networks.

    “Advanced network planning and optimization services are at the forefront of Nokia Networks’ strategic services to mobile operators. The evolution of small cells and LTE necessitates more accurate 3-D geolocation capabilities. Nokia Networks intends to enhance this unique solution in order to offer superior services to our customers, regardless of which network gear they use,” said Dennis Lorenzin, head of Network Planning and Optimization** at the Global Services business unit of Nokia Networks.

    “Nokia Networks intends to build up a competence center in Israel, develop its future portfolio around 3-D modeling, and increase automation in its services. This is a further step in Nokia Networks’ pursuit of innovation that comes from the global community of technology companies,” said Dror Nemirovsky, head of Ecosystem Ventures at Nokia Networks.

    “NICE is very pleased with this new engagement with Nokia Networks,” said Yaron Tchwella, President, NICE Security Group. “Nokia Networks is one of the leading mobile broadband service providers for the telecom operators worldwide, and with this arrangement, our unique 3-D solution will now be made available for a much larger installed base.”

    Inmiddels het dividend van Nokia ontvangen. Iemand een idee over de belasting die wordt geheven? Is dit te verrekenen net als de Nederlandse dividenden bij de inkomstenbelasting? Of zijn er andere zaken waar je op moet letten.
    Alvast bedankt.
    Ik heb het dividend nog niet ontvangen. Dit is toch 37 cent in contanten per aandeel? Ik zit bij de ING, weet niet waar jullie bij zitten. Voor zover ik weet, kun je dit gewoon verrekenen in Box 3 omdat je Nokia gewoon via de Amsterdamse beurs hebt aangeschaft.
