    Lager koersdoel voor Vestas

    Beurshuis Berenberg verlaagt het koersdoel voor Vestas VWS -4,40%, de Deense fabrikant van windturbines. Het bedrijf blijft last hebben van problemen in de aanvoerketting. Nadat Vestas vorige week zelf zijn outlook voor 2022 neerwaarts had bijgesteld, verlaagt Berenberg het koersdoel van 190 naar 165 Deense Kronen.

    Het advies gaat van 'kopen' naar 'houden'. Vestas duikt zo'n 4,5 procent lager.

    Vestas to Supply Turbines for EnBW 900 MW He Dreiht Offshore Wind

    With reference to Vestas Northern & Central Europe’s 9 July 2021 announcement, Vestas has secured a conditional order agreement to supply 64 V235-15.0 MW wind turbines for EnBW’s 900 MW He Dreiht offshore wind project in 2025. In addition, Vestas will deliver a multi-year solution to service the wind project when operational. With a swept area of 43,742 square meters and a capacity factor of over 60% from the 115.5m blades, the V236-15.0 MW turbine will deliver industry-leading park performance for EnBW at He Dreiht. Depending on site-specific conditions a single V236-15.0 MW turbine can produce 80 GWh per year, enough to power around 20,000 European households.

    Vestas has also entered a conditional agreement with Cadeler, a leading supplier within offshore wind installation services, for the transportation and installation of the turbines for the He Dreiht project. Installation is planned to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with full park commissioning anticipated for the fourth quarter of the same year. The project has a grid connection capacity of 900 MW and an excess capacity of 60 MW in order to use the connection capacity as efficiently as possible even when production is lower.

    The V236-15.0 MW prototype development work is progressing across Vestas’s R&D and production sites, and the prototype wind turbine is planned for installation later this year, with serial production to begin from 2024. If and when the agreement with EnBW materialises in a firm and unconditional order for Vestas, the company will send out a new press release to this effect.

    Sif en Smulders krijgen opdracht voor windpark in Noordzee
    Transitiestukken voor He Dreiht-project.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Sif gaat samen met het Belgische Smulders 65 transitiestukken vervaardigen voor het windmolenpark op zee He Dreiht. Dat maakten de bedrijven donderdag bekend.

    "Deze waardevolle order zat al in ons orderboek als een project waarover exclusief werd onderhandeld", zei CEO Fred van Beers van Sif. Het orderboek heeft nu circa 250 kiloton aan bevestigde opdrachten en nog 20 kiloton waarover exclusief wordt onderhandeld tot en met 2024. "We rekenen op een totale productie in 2023 van circa 200 kiloton."

    De productie moet plaatsvinden in de eerste helft van 2023 en de stukken zullen samen ruim 36 kiloton wegen. Per stuk zijn de onderdelen 30 meter hoog, bijna 8,5 meter breed en meer dan 700 ton zwaar.

    Het project op de Noordzee, zo'n 100 kilometer ten westen van Helgoland, krijgt een capaciteit van 900 megawatt. Er komen 64 windturbines gebouwd door Vestas.

    Vestas aan de slag in Polen
    Geen financiële details gemeld.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Vestas heeft een opdracht binnengehaald in Polen. Dit meldde de Deense bouwer van windturbines dinsdag, zonder financiële details te geven.

    Vestas zal 33 turbines van het type V110-2.2 MW leveren voor een windproject in het noorden van Polen.

    Naast de levering en installatie zal Vestas de windmolens ook onderhouden gedurende een periode van 15 jaar.

    De turbines zullen vanaf het derde kwartaal van 2023 worden afgeleverd. In het eerste kwartaal van 2024 moeten de turbines operationeel zijn.

    KOPENHAGEN (ANP/BLOOMBERG) - Vestas, de grootste windmolenfabrikant ter wereld, heeft in het tweede kwartaal een verlies geleden. Het Deense bedrijf blijft kampen met problemen in de toeleveringsketen die zorgen voor vertragingen van projecten. Ook heeft Vestas last van hogere prijzen van materialen en grondstoffen, waardoor het bedrijf meer kosten moet maken om windmolens te bouwen en de winstmarge onder druk staat.

    De omzet van het bedrijf daalde afgelopen kwartaal met 6,5 procent tot 3,3 miljard euro. Door de hogere kosten bleef onder de streep een nettoverlies over van 119 miljoen euro. Het verlies viel hoger uit dan kenners hadden verwacht. Ook de omzet viel tegen. In dezelfde periode een jaar eerder werd nog een winst geboekt van 83 miljoen euro op een omzet van 3,5 miljard euro.

    "De eerste helft van 2022 werd gekenmerkt door geopolitieke onzekerheid en verstoringen van de toeleveringsketen die hebben geleid tot hogere kosten en een energiecrisis hebben veroorzaakt", zei topman Henrik Andersen. Voor het hele jaar houdt Vestas wel vast aan zijn verwachting van een omzet tussen 14,5 miljard en 16 miljard euro. De brutowinstmarge zal daarbij uitkomen tussen 5 procent negatief en nul procent.

    KOPENHAGEN (ANP) - De klimaatdoelen worden mogelijk niet gehaald omdat regeringen er veel te lang over doen om vergunning af te geven voor windparken op zee. Dat zeggen de topmannen van de Deense bedrijven Vestas en Ørsted tegen de Britse zakenkrant The Financial Times.

    Ook de sinds de Russische inval in Oekraïne door de EU zo vurig gewenste energieonafhankelijkheid laat daardoor op zich wachten, betogen Mads Nipper van Ørsted en Henrik Andersen van Vestas. Ze vinden dat overheden veel mooie woorden hebben over vergroening, maar dat ze niet genoeg doen.

    "We luisteren nu veel naar excuses voor waarom ze niet gedaan hebben wat ze in de afgelopen vijf jaar hadden moeten doen", stelt Andersen. "Op dit moment zou er in elke overheid een werkgroep moeten zijn die versneld vergunningen verleent."

    De Europese Commissie

    Momenteel duurt het vergunningsproces in veel landen zo lang dat er soms al een nieuwe turbinetechnologie is voordat de vergunning verleend is. "Ambities zijn enorm belangrijk", verduidelijkt Nipper. "En die worden steeds groter. Maar dat is pas de eerste mijl van de marathon en die moet gevolgd worden door maatregelen."

    De Europese Commissie heeft al laten weten dat vergunningsprocedures sneller moeten. Het principe dat duurzame energie een hoger algemeen belang dient, zou in Europese wetgeving moeten worden vastgelegd. Vergunningen zouden volgens de Commissie binnen één tot twee jaar moeten worden verleend.

    De windenergiesector heeft nu een enorme hoeveelheid projecten die nog niet vergund zijn. "Producenten staan klaar en kunnen meer doen", aldus Andersen.

    Vestas to Sell Converters & Controls Business to KK Wind

    Leading wind turbine supplier Vestas has signed an agreement with KK Wind Solutions for the acquisition of Vestas’ converters and controls business, which includes Vestas’ three converters and control panels factories in Denmark, India and China and associated staff functions. In total, around 600 Vestas employees are in scope for being part of KK.

    As part of the agreement, KK will exclusively supply converters and control panels to Vestas from the three factories, while the agreement enables potential for local expansion and job growth by extending the use of converter technologies in areas adjacent to Vestas’ core business. Furthermore, the agreement between Vestas and KK includes joint development of converters with an engineering team at Vestas fully dedicated to the partnership.

    Vestas’ converter and control panel factory in Hammel, Denmark employs around 280 people and Vestas’ converter factory in Oragadam, India employs around 50 people. In addition, Vestas owns a nacelle and hub assembly plant next to the converter factory in Oragadam, which will continue its operations as today. Vestas’ converter factory in China employs around 220 people and is part of Vestas’ manufacturing compound in Tianjin.

    The agreement builds on years of collaboration between KK and Vestas, most recently exemplified by localisation of offshore power conversion modules and low voltage cabinets in Taiwan.

    The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2023, subject to receipt of approvals from the relevant regulatory authorities and separation of the converters & controls business, at which point the transaction will be reflected in Vestas’ financial accounts.

    Vestas to Supply Turbines for Kaiwera Downs Wind Farm

    In partnership with Mercury, Vestas has secured a 43 MW order for Kaiwera Downs Wind Farm in New Zealand. The project will feature ten V136-4.2 MW wind turbines in 4.3 MW operating mode which Vestas will supply and install. Upon completion, Vestas will deliver a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 service and maintenance agreement (AOM5000) to optimise energy production, while providing Mercury with long-term business case certainty for the wind farm.

    While featuring the largest rotor diameter in New Zealand, it is also the first wind project to be constructed on the South Island since 2015 and will be Mercury’s first wind project since Turitea Wind Farm was announced in 2019, which is also a partnership with Vestas.

    Delivery of Vestas’ wind turbines is expected to occur in the second quarter of 2023, with commissioning to commence in the third quarter of 2023.

    Vestas zal 41 turbines van het type V150-4.5 MW leveren voor een windproject.

    De turbines zullen halverwege 2023 worden afgeleverd en vanaf het vierde kwartaal in bedrijf zijn. Na de levering en installatie zal Vestas de windmolens ook onderhouden gedurende meerdere jaren.

    Hoger dan Dom van Keulen: ’s Werelds hoogste onshore windmolentoren wordt door Deens bedrijf op poten gezet

    Het Deense bedrijf Vestas kondigt de bouw aan van een windturbinetoren op land met een naafhoogte van 199 meter, waardoor het “de hoogste onshore toren voor windturbines ter wereld” wordt. Ter vergelijking: de Dom van Keulen, de bekende gotische kathedraal van die Duitse stad, is 157 meter hoog.

    De hoogte van de toren maakt het mogelijk sterkere en constantere wind te oogsten, en zo de jaarlijkse elektriciteitsproductie van de turbine op te drijven, klinkt het in een persbericht.

    Voor turbine van 7 megawatt
    Vestas werkt samen met het Duitse bouwbedrijf Max Bögl aan de hoge windmolentoren. Die laatste zal bestaan uit een combinatie van beton en staal, en eigen technologieën van de twee bedrijven combineren. Hij is ontworpen voor Vestas‘ “best renderende” onshore windturbine; de V172, die een vermogen van 7 megawatt (MW) heeft. Het is de bedoeling dat hij in Duitsland en Oostenrijk wordt gebruikt. De installatie zal in 2025 worden aangeboden, zo schrijft de zakensite CNBC.

    “De V172-7.2MW op een toren van 199 meter bevestigt ons marktleiderschap in Duitsland en Oostenrijk”, stelt Jens Kück, vicepresident sales Centraal-Europa bij Vestas. “Het toont ons vermogen om het rendement van onze windturbines voortdurend te verhogen door middel van nieuwe technologieën om de ambitieuze uitbreidingsdoelstellingen voor windenergie op land in Duitsland te realiseren.”

    Ook hoger dan het Vrijheidsbeeld
    Torens zijn belangrijke onderdelen van een windturbine; zo rusten cruciale onderdelen, zoals de gondel en de bladen, erop.

    Het Amerikaanse ministerie van Energie definieert de naafhoogte van een turbine als “de afstand van de grond tot het midden van de rotor van de turbine”.

    Het ministerie voegt hieraan toe dat de naafhoogte voor onshore, utility-scale turbines “sinds 1998-1999 met 66 procent is toegenomen, tot ongeveer 94 meter in 2021”. Dit is ongeveer dezelfde hoogte als het Vrijheidsbeeld. Met 199 meter zou de naafhoogte van Vestas dus ook aanzienlijk hoger dan dit monument zijn.

    Atlantic Shores Selects Vestas as Preferred Turbine Supplier

    After a thorough and competitive process, Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, a 50:50 partnership between Shell New Energies and EDF Renewables, is proud to announce its selection of Vestas as the preferred supplier for its 1.5 GW offshore wind project in New Jersey, USA.

    Vestas will provide its industry leading V236-15.0 MW™ offshore wind turbines, with installation expected in 2027. Once installed, the project will generate enough clean energy to power more than 700,000 U.S. homes.

    This Preferred Supplier Agreement (PSA) was signed shortly after New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy issued an Executive Order increasing the state’s offshore wind target by 50 percent to achieve 11 GW by 2040.

    Given the state’s significant investment in the New Jersey Wind Port and keeping in line with the Atlantic Shores’ commitments to New Jersey as part of its selected Project 1 proposal, Vestas intends to establish a nacelle assembly facility at the New Jersey Wind Port in Salem County where the assembly and testing of the hub, cooler top, and heli-hoist modules will take place. The facility will supply Atlantic Shores’ inaugural project in its portfolio.

    In addition, Vestas will deliver a comprehensive wind turbine service solution as soon as the project commences operations. These services will be executed from a state-of-the-art operations and maintenance base established by Atlantic Shores in Atlantic City, that will also provide additional local employment opportunities over the life of the project.

    Baltic Power Project Driving New Investments

    Poland’s first installation terminal to be located in Swinoujscie and a turbine factory to be built by Vestas in Szczecin are two new investment projects now afoot in connection with the Baltic Power offshore wind farm. The joint venture project between the ORLEN Group and Northland Power will require 76 state-of-the-art 15 MW turbines from Vestas, whose components will be manufactured at the supplier’s new assembly factory in Szczecin. The turbine factory, to be manned by a staff of up to 700, is scheduled for completion in 2024, while the ORLEN Group’s installation terminal at the Port of Swinoujscie will commence operations in 2025.

    Parts delivered for installation to the approximately 20-hectare terminal site will be offshore wind farm components, including turbines manufactured by Vestas. Each of the two available wharves will enable initial installation of wind turbine towers more than 100 metres high, weighing about 1,000 tonnes each. The length of each wharf (250 metres) will suffice to accommodate the operation of the largest specialised jack-up vessels currently available for installing offshore wind farm components. The port is expected to commence operations in 2025, and will employ around 100 people during the installation work.

    The ORLEN Group’s investment in an installation port to be constructed at the Port of Swinoujscie is crucial from the point of view of the time frames of both the Baltic Power project and future projects to be undertaken by ORLEN Neptun within Polish waters of the Baltic Sea by 2040.

    The first project to be delivered with the support of the installation terminal in Swinoujscie will be Baltic Power, a joint venture between the ORLEN Group and Northland Power. Thanks to a determined effort of a team of nearly 90 experts from 10 countries, it is now the most advanced project within Polish waters of the Baltic Sea. The company has already secured all key components of the offshore wind farm through a partially local supply chain.

    The Baltic Power wind farm will feature 76 turbines, each with a capacity of 15 MW, to be supplied by Vestas. These turbines are currently at the cutting edge of what is available on the market, and Baltic Power will be one of the world’s first wind farms where they will be deployed. The contract with Vestas provides for the supply and installation of the turbines and the provision of a full range of maintenance services for up to 15 years. In addition, recognising further development potential of the Polish offshore wind sector, the company has decided to locate its new assembly factory in Szczecin.

    The new Vestas factory will assemble turbine nacelles and hubs. The facility, located in the region of Western Pomerania, will supply manufactured components to the Polish and global markets. The factory is expected to start operations in the second half of 2024, providing between 600 and 700 jobs. Thus, it will be the largest manufacturing plant in Poland linked directly to the offshore wind sector.

    The Baltic Power farm, with a capacity of up to 1.2 GW, will be located about 23 kilometres off the coastline, near Choczewo and Leba. When completed in 2026, it will be able to generate clean energy for more than 1.5 million households.

    Siemens Gamesa 5.X Turbine Crosses 100 Mark

    The Siemens Gamesa 5.X onshore platform has reached a huge milestone, with the 100th wind turbine installed at the 372 MW Björnberget wind farm near Ange, Sweden, for partners Prime Capital and Enlight. The first Siemens Gamesa 5.X prototypes were installed in Denmark and Spain at the beginning of 2021, and the platform is already delivering green and secure energy for our customers and their end user. Designed and built at facilities in Agreda, Spain, and Vagos, Portugal, the Siemens Gamesa 5.X is now installed in six projects in Sweden and Brazil, just one year after it was first introduced at the Skaftaasen wind farm, in Sweden.

    Indeed, the Siemens Gamesa 5.X wind turbine portfolio continues to evolve. Last week the company launched a new variant called the SG 7.0-170, which will have a 7-MW rating helping customers to produce even more clean, green energy.

    The Siemens Gamesa 5.X is the largest unit capacity in the onshore portfolio, with a rated capacity of up to 7-MW, and the largest rotor diameters, 155 and 170 meters, resulting in maximum performance in high, medium and low-wind conditions. The 170-meter rotor is among the largest in the onshore segment.

    The Siemens Gamesa 5.X onshore platform incorporates the company's proven technology, experience and expertise, based on its installed wind fleet of more than 104.5 GW worldwide, enough to power 90.2 million households.

    Vestas verlaagt outlook

    Verstoringen in aanvoerketens en hogere kosten drukken resultaten.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Vestas heeft de outlook voor 2022 verlaagd. Dit bleek woensdagochtend uit een update van de Deense maker van windmolens.

    Voor dit jaar rekent Vestas nu op een omzet van 14,5 tot 15,5 miljard euro, waar eerder werd uitgegaan van 14,5 tot 16,0 miljard euro. Dat was al een verlaging, want aanvankelijk rekende de fabrikant op een omzet van 15,0 tot 16,5 miljard euro.

    De EBIT-marge voor bijzondere posten zal vermoedelijk 5 procent negatief zijn, terwijl eerder nog werd gemikt op een bandbreedte van 5 procent negatief tot 0 procent.

    Vestas gaat met 850 miljoen euro ook minder investeren dit jaar. Eerder liepen de investeringsplannen op tot 1 miljard euro.

    "De verstoringen in de aanvoerketen en de kosteninflatie namen niet af", aldus Vestas.

    Het Deense bedrijf werd wel positiever over de voorziene omzet uit services. Deze omzet zal met met minimaal 20 procent stijgen in plaats van met minstens 10 procent, vanwege de sterke prestaties en extra maatregelen om de efficiëntie te verhogen. De EBIT-marge bij deze tak zal vermoedelijk rond de 22 procent liggen, en niet 23 procent, zoals eerder werd voorzien.

    In het afgelopen kwartaal daalde de omzet op jaarbasis van 5,5 naar 3,9 miljard euro, terwijl onder de streep een verlies restte van 147 miljoen euro. Een jaar eerder boekte Vestas nog een winst van 116 miljoen euro.

    De vrije kasstroom was 644 miljoen euro negatief, tegen 385 miljoen euro positief een jaar eerder.

    Leading wind turbine supplier Vestas has received a 300 MW order from Apex Clean Energy to power the Goose Creek Wind project in Illinois, USA. The order consists of 50 V162-6.2 MW turbines delivered in 6.0 MW operating mode.

    The order includes supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 10-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance of the asset.

    Turbine delivery begins in the third quarter of 2023 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023.

    Vestas Secures Wind Turbine Order from WPD

    Vestas has secured a 21 MW order with wpd AG in Taiwan that includes five V117-4.2 MW turbines with 91.5m towers in two wind projects. The order includes a long-term Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement for the wind farms, to ensure optimised performance and long-term business case certainty for the customer.

    Deliveries are expected to begin at the third quarter of 2023, while commissioning is planned for the fourth quarter of the same year.

    With this order, Vestas’ total onshore installed volume in Taiwan will exceed more than 350 MW of which 130 MW is with wpd, underlining the strong global cooperation with wpd AG as well as Vestas’ commitment to drive the energy transition in Taiwan.

    Vestas Secures 178 MW Order in USA

    Vestas has received a 178 MW order to power an undisclosed wind project in the USA. The order consists of 23 V150-4.5 MW turbines, 14 V150-4.2 MW turbines in 4.3 MW operating mode, and four V136-3.45 turbines delivered in 3.6 operating mode.

    The order includes supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance of the asset.

    Turbine delivery begins in the third quarter of 2023 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023.

    World’s leading supplier of wind turbines Vestas has signs multi-year framework agreement with long-time partner a leading supplier of wind turbine blades and services TPI Composites to strengthen its scalable global supply chain network for current and future wind turbine blades.

    TPI and Vestas work closely together on global manufacturing and supply chain operations, based on Vestas’ specifications and requirements, and TPI is currently supplying a range of blade variants to Vestas’ 2 and 4 MW platforms as well as the EnVentus platform. TPI will continue supply of blades from its existing global production footprint, while optimising the production setup in current facilities, and evaluate new locations for possible future growth in strategic markets.

    Vestas and TPI are equally investigating further collaboration possibilities for the V163-4.5 MW and V236-15.0 MW turbines and assessing the optimal manufacturing and production location setup for these new blades.
