    BP koopt schalie-activa van BHP

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) BP zal het grootste deel van de Amerikaanse onshore olie- en gasactiviteiten van BHP Billiton kopen voor 10,5 miljard dollar. Dit meldde BP donderdag laat.

    Met de overname hoopt het Britse energieconcern na de olieramp in de Golf van Mexico met de Deepwater Horizon zijn activiteiten in de Verenigde Staten opnieuw op te bouwen. Voor BHP Billiton biedt de verkoop de mogelijkheid uit een investering te stappen, die door het energieconcern werd afgedaan als een kostbare en misplaatste investering.

    CEO Bob Dudley sprak van een transformerende deal voor de schalie-activiteiten van het bedrijf en een belangrijke stap in de richting van het behalen van de groeistrategie van het BP.

    De overname wordt gefinancierd uit het eigen vermogen en past volgens het concern binnen het huidige uitgavenbudget, waarbij 50 procent van de 10,5 miljard dollar wordt betaald bij voltooiing van de overname en 50 procent wordt uitbetaald over een periode een van zes maanden.

    De overname van de assets dragen bij aan de winst en kasstroom van BP en verhogen de kasstroomdoelstelling van het concern met 1 miljard dollar tot 14 miljard á 15 miljard dollar per 2021.

    De assets zijn goed voor een productie van 190.000 vaten per dag en voegen 4,6 miljard vaten aan ontdekte hulpbronnen toe aan de activa van BP.

    De overname genereert geschatte synergieën voor belasting van meer dan 350 miljoen dollar per jaar.

    Daarnaast kondigde BP aan om het dividend voor het tweede kwartaal met 2,5 procent te verhogen, wat de eerste verhoging markeert in 15 kwartalen.

    BP haalt meer winst

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) BP heeft in het tweede kwartaal van dit jaar de winst zien stijgen en besloot het dividend te verhogen. Dit bleek dinsdag voorbeurs uit de cijfers van de Britse oliereus.

    BP behaalde afgelopen kwartaal een onderliggende winst, gerekend tegen vervangingskosten, van 2,8 miljard dollar. Dat is viermaal het gerapporteerde resultaat in het tweede kwartaal van 2017.

    Volgens BP was de winstgroei te danken aan de prestaties bij de tak Upstream en bij Rosneft. Upstream beleefde het sterkste kwartaal sinds het derde kwartaal van 2014.

    Er werd door BP afgelopen kwartaal 3,6 miljoen vaten olie(equivalent) geproduceerd per dag, exclusief Rosneft een stijging van 1,4 procent. Aangepast voor wijzigingen in de portefeuille en prijzen ging het zelfs om een toename van bijna tien procent.

    Inmiddels heeft BP 3 van de 6 grote nieuwe projecten gepland voor dit jaar operationeel.

    De operationele kasstroom was afgelopen kwartaal, exclusief de kosten voor de milieuramp in de Golf van Mexico, 7,0 miljard dollar. In de eerste zes maanden dit jaar was dit 12,4 miljard dollar.

    BP besloot het dividend voor het eerst sinds het derde kwartaal van 2014 weer te verhogen, met 2,5 procent naar 10,25 cent per aandeel.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) BP heeft in het derde kwartaal van dit jaar de winst zien stijgen en besloot het dividend te verhogen. Dit bleek dinsdag voorbeurs uit de cijfers van de Britse oliereus.

    BP behaalde afgelopen kwartaal een onderliggende winst, gerekend tegen vervangingskosten, van 3,8 miljard dollar. Dat is meer dan het dubbele van het gerapporteerde resultaat in het derde kwartaal van 2017.

    Volgens BP was de winstgroei te danken aan de prestaties bij de tak Upstream en bij Rosneft.

    Er werd door BP afgelopen kwartaal 3,6 miljoen vaten olie (equivalent) geproduceerd per dag, exclusief Rosneft was sprake van een stijging van 6,8 procent.

    BP appoints Ms Janet Kong as new oil trading heads for Asia, Americas

    Reuters reported that oil major BP has appointed new leaders for its integrated supply and trading business in the Americas and Asia with its senior executives swapping regions, a company spokeswoman said. Ms Janet Kong, chief executive of Integrated Supply and Trading (IST) Eastern Hemisphere at BP, will be moving to the United States to become the regional business leader for global oil Americas. Sharon Weintraub will replace Kong as the head of BP's Asia oil supply and trading business, the spokeswoman said.

    Currently, Weintraub, the chief financial officer for North America Gas, Power and non-gas liquids at BP. She has been with BP for 14 years, managing its risk management business in Europe and the Americas.

    BP enters into a joint venture with WorleyParsons in New Zealand

    BP Oil New Zealand Limited has entered into a joint venture with WorleyParsons, with WorleyParsons taking a 50% shareholding in the established entity New Zealand Oil Services Limited. Under the venture, NZOSL has been awarded a Terminal Services Agreement for the operation of BP’s seven bulk fuel storage, handling and distribution facilities in New Zealand. WorleyParsons also becomes NZOSL’s preferred contractor to deliver engineering, project delivery and asset management services.

    Andrew Wood, Chief Executive Officer of WorleyParsons, said “This contract demonstrates the synergies following our acquisition of AFW UK Oil & Gas Limited in 2017. It builds upon our established relationship with BP and utilizes WorleyParsons’ MMO expertise and capability.”

    LONDEN (AFN/BLOOMBERG) - Het Britse olie- en gasconcern BP heeft de eerste olie opgepompt uit het grote olieveld Clair Ridge in het noordelijke deel van de Noordzee. Clair Ridge bevat naar schatting 640 miljoen vaten aan winbare olie.

    Het olieveld ligt 75 kilometer ten westen van de Shetland-eilanden. Het wingebied maakt deel uit van het grotere Clair-olieveld dat in de jaren zeventig werd ontdekt. Dat olieveld is het grootste van Europa met naar schatting 7 miljard vaten olie en gas. Dat is meer dan de op één na en de op twee na grootste velden bij elkaar. In andere delen van Clair werd in 2005 begonnen met de eerste productie.

    BP is exploitant van Clair Ridge. Eerder dit jaar sloot het bedrijf een deal met ConocoPhillips, waardoor BP een belang van 45 procent in Clair Ridge zal bezitten. Shell en Chevron bezitten ook belangen. De afgelopen jaren zijn miljarden gestoken in de ontwikkeling van het project.

    BP to invest USD 1 billion in South Africa, including refinery upgrade

    Reuters reported that BP Southern Africa (BPSA) will invest USD 1 billion in South Africa in the next five years with more than a quarter of that set aside to upgrade the SAPREF refinery to produce lower sulphur diesel, its chief executive said. The 180,00 barrels per day SAPREF refinery, South Africa's largest, is a 50:50 venture between Royal Dutch Shell and BPSA, a subsidiary of British oil major BP. The plant is located in the east coast city of Durban. BP would invest USD 252 million-USD 288 million in the refinery upgrade, Chief Executive Priscillah Mabelane told Reuters, adding that about 40 percent of the total USD 1 billion investment would go on retail activities.

    She said the upgrade would make "sure the refinery can meet the new specifications in terms of low sulphur and Marpol regulations." The plant would shut for maintenance from May to June 2019, she added.

    The upgrade has been driven by new rules demanding a lower fuel sulphur content and changing customer preferences for cleaner diesel, such as D50 and D10.

    Refinery operators have been in long-running talks with government on how to recover costs from upgrading work needed to produce cleaner fuel in South Africa, the continent's most industrialised economy.

    BP delivers first oil from Clair Ridge in UK

    BP, on behalf of co-venturers Shell, Chevron and ConocoPhillips, announced first oil production from the giant Clair Ridge project in the West of Shetland region offshore UK. Clair Ridge is the second phase of development of the Clair field, 75 kilometres West of Shetland. The field, which was discovered in 1977, has an estimated seven billion barrels of hydrocarbons. Two new, bridge-linked platforms and oil and gas export pipelines have been constructed as part of the Clair Ridge project. The new facilities, which required capital investment in excess of £4.5 billion, are designed for 40 years of production. The project has been designed to recover an estimated 640 million barrels of oil with production expected to ramp up to a peak at plateau level of 120,000 barrels of oil per day.

    Mr Bernard Looney, BP Chief Executive Upstream, said that “The start-up of Clair Ridge is a culmination of decades of persistence. Clair was the first discovery we made in the West of Shetland area in 1977. But trying to access and produce its seven billion barrels proved very difficult. We had to leverage our technology and ingenuity to successfully bring on the first phase of this development in 2005. And now more than 40 years after the original discovery, we have first oil from Clair Ridge, one of the largest recent investments in the UK. This is a major milestone for our Upstream business and highlights BP’s continued commitment to the North Sea region.”

    Clair Ridge is the first offshore deployment of BP’s enhanced oil recovery technology, LoSal®, which has the potential to increase oil recovery from reservoirs by using reduced salinity water in water injection. This is expected to result in up to 40 million additional barrels being cost-effectively recovered over the lifetime of the development.

    Mr Ariel Flores, Regional President for BP’s North Sea business, said: “Safely delivering first oil from Clair Ridge, in some of the harshest conditions in the UKCS, is the result of years of planning and hard work by BP, our partners and supply chain colleagues. We are proud to have played our part in this pioneering project and are excited for the Clair region’s continued potential.”

    LONDEN (AFN/BLOOMBERG) - Na Shell krijgt ook het Britse BP een klimaatresolutie van vereniging Follow This aan zijn broek. Het is voor het eerst dat de klimaatactivistische aandeelhouder zich op een andere oliemaatschappij richt. Follow This koopt aandelen in de gas- en oliemaatschappijen zodat het die resoluties kan indienen. De milieugroepering denkt er ook over om ExxonMobil en Chevron aan te pakken, maar doet dit alleen als het geen andere groeperingen in de weg zit.

    Follow This diende de afgelopen drie jaarvergaderingen van Shell ook een resolutie in. Die werden weliswaar verworpen, maar Shell maakte begin deze maand wel bekend strengere doelen te stellen om CO2-uitstoot te verminderen. De beloning van het topmanagement wordt daar ook aan gekoppeld.

    Eerder had Shell al aangekondigd om de CO2-uitstoot van zijn producten in 2050 te halveren. Nu komt daarbij dat het gas- en oliebedrijf zijn voetafdruk in 2035 al met 20 procent verkleind wil hebben. Vanaf 2020 gaat het bedrijf dan ieder jaar nieuwe doelstellingen formuleren voor drie tot vijf jaar.

    BP grows position in deepwater Gulf of Mexico

    BP announced that it has approved a major expansion at the Atlantis field in the US Gulf of Mexico and has also identified significant additional oil resources that could create further development opportunities around the production hubs it operates in the region. The USD 1.3 billion Atlantis Phase 3 development is the latest example of BP’s strategy of growing advantaged oil production through its existing production facilities in the Gulf. The approval for this latest development comes after recent BP breakthroughs in advanced seismic imaging and reservoir characterization revealed an additional 400 million barrels of oil in place at the Atlantis field.

    Application of the same technology and analysis has now identified an additional 1 billion barrels of oil in place at the Thunder Horse field. Elsewhere, two new discoveries near the Na Kika production facility could provide further tie-back development opportunities.

    BP’s Upstream chief executive Bernard Looney said “BP’s Gulf of Mexico business is key to our strategy of growing production of advantaged high-margin oil. We are building on our world-class position, upgrading the resources at our fields through technology, productivity and exploration success. And these fields are still young – only 12% of the hydrocarbons in place across our Gulf portfolio have been produced so far. We can see many opportunities for further development, offering the potential to continue to create significant value through the middle of the next decade and beyond.“

    Atlantis Phase 3 will include the construction of a new subsea production system from eight new wells that will be tied into the current platform, 150 miles south of New Orleans. Scheduled to come onstream in 2020, the project is expected to boost production at the platform by an estimated 38,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day (boe/d) gross at its peak. It will also access the eastern area of the field where the advanced imaging and reservoir characterization identified additional oil in place.

    BP unlocks a billion oil barrels in Gulf of Mexico with new technology

    Reuters reported that BP said it has discovered two new oilfields in the Gulf of Mexico and has identified an additional billion barrels of oil at an existing field thanks to new seismic technology. The British company, which has only recently turned a corner following the deadly 2010 Deepwater Horizon spill, also on Tuesday announced plans to expand production at its Atlantis oilfield in the Gulf of Mexico, consolidating its status as the largest oil producer in that region. The company has put a heavy emphasis on technology and data processing capabilities in recent years in order to unlock new resources and cut costs.

    The $1.3 billion Atlantis Phase 3 development will include drilling eight wells and a new subsea production system that will boost BP's production by 38,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed). It is scheduled to start production in 2020.

    Together with the new discoveries, BP aims to grow its Gulf of Mexico production from over 300,000 boed at present to 400,000 boed by the mid 2020s.

    Alaska officials probing BP oil & gas wells at Prudhoe Bay after spill

    Reuters reported that regulators in the US state of Alaska will investigate all of the oil and natural gas wells operated by BP Plc at its Prudhoe Bay oil field after the release of a small amount of crude oil and gas from a well that had earlier been shut. The Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC) has scheduled a February 7 hearing to assess the mechanical integrity of Prudhoe Bay wells operated by BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc.

    Last month's leak occurred at one of 14 wells that BP had shut in 2017 following a much bigger release oil and gas then. The most recent failure, detected on December 7, released natural gas and about two gallons of crude oil. The gas release was brought under control two days later. There was no oil released to the tundra and no one was injured

    The earlier failure, in April 2017, caused crude oil to spray over a roughly 1 acre (0.4 hectare) area and caused natural gas to vent for days before it was brought under control. That well failure was linked to permafrost thaw. The normally frozen soil thawed, triggering movement that pushed the well up 3 to 4 feet (1.2 meters), breaking a pressure gauge that previously regulated the site, according to regulators.

    BP and Eni pursue new exploration opportunity in Oman's Block 77

    BP and Eni have signed a heads of agreement (HoA) with the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Sultanate of Oman to work jointly towards a significant new exploration opportunity in Oman. Under the HoA, the two companies will work with the Government of Oman towards the award of a new exploration and production sharing agreement (EPSA) for Block 77 in central Oman. BP and Eni will now enter discussions with the Ministry to finalise details of the EPSA.

    Bernard Looney, BP chief executive upstream said: “This would represent a further deepening of BP’s important position in Oman, building on our successful delivery of the major Khazzan project in 2017 and its second phase of development that is currently under construction. We look forward to continuing to explore and efficiently develop the country’s resources, working in close partnership with Eni and Oman to underpin our commitment to delivering long-term gas production for Oman.”

    Block 77, with a total area of almost 3,100 km2, is located in central Oman, 30 km east of the BP-operated Block 61, which contains the already-producing Khazzan gas project as well as the Ghazeer project, currently under development.

    BP signed on January 9, 2019 in its Jakarta offices a cooperation contract with Tenaris to provide high quality OCTG products and accessories with Rig Direct® service, to support drilling activities in Indonesia’s Tangguh region. Tenaris’s Rig Direct® model integrates the supply of pipes and accessories from the mill to the rig operating under a single QHSE management system, focusing on process and operational efficiency with the objective of lowering overall costs. It means partnering with the customer from the design of the well column to technical assistance at the rig.

    LONDEN (AFN/RTR) - Olie- en gasbedrijf BP gaat meer duidelijkheid geven over zijn uitstoot van broeikasgassen. Het Britse bedrijf heeft aangekondigd tijdens de aandeelhoudersvergadering een resolutie daarover te zullen steunen. Die resolutie wordt door een aantal institutionele beleggers, waaronder het Nederlandse pensioenfonds ABP, in stemming gebracht.

    BP gaat ook de beloning van 36.000 personeelsleden, waaronder het bestuur, afhankelijk maken van behalen van uitstootdoelen. Wel maken de indieners van de resolutie zich nog zorgen of de strategie van BP wel in lijn is met het klimaatakkoord van Parijs. Het concern wil juist fors meer gas en olie gaan produceren de komende vijf jaar.

    In een resolutie van klimaatactivistische aandeelhouder Follow This ziet BP overigens niets. Die groepering wilde dat het olie- en gasconcern ook met doelen komt voor de beperking van de uitstoot van de brandstoffen die het aan klanten levert.

    Follow This zat eerder alleen Shell achter de vodden over CO2. Het Nederlands-Britse concern kwam vorig jaar met het besluit om zijn voetafdruk tot 2035 met 20 procent te verkleinen.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) BP heeft in het vierde kwartaal van 2018 weer winst geboekt en presteerde beter dan verwacht na sterke operationele prestaties in vrijwel alle segmenten. Dit maakte de Britse oliereus dinsdagochtend bekend.

    De zogeheten replacement cost profit, een veelgebruikte maatstaf voor de winsten in de olie-industrie die ook rekening houdt met de fluctuaties in de olieprijs, kwam afgelopen kwartaal uit op 2,7 miljard dollar. Een jaar eerder stond er onder de streep nog een verlies van 583 miljoen dollar.

    Na eenmalige posten kwam de onderliggende RC-winst uit op 3,5 miljard dollar, waar dit een jaar eerder nog 2,1 miljard dollar was. De bedrijfsconsensus van BP, waaraan twintig analisten bijdroegen, mikte op een onderliggende RC-winst van 2,6 miljard dollar.

    De totale omzet steeg met 9,8 procent tot 76,9 miljard dollar, terwijl de operationele kasstroom 7,1 miljard dollar was. BP stelde dat betalingen gerelateerd aan de olieramp in 2010 bij de Golf van Mexico uitkwamen op 3,2 miljard dollar.

    Gedurende 2018 stootte BP 3,5 miljard dollar aan bezittingen af. De oliereus is van plan om meer dan 10 miljard dollar aan desinvesteringen te doen in de komende twee jaar.

    BP wil een dividend over het vierde kwartaal uitkeren van 10,25 cent per aandeel, in lijn met eerdere kwartalen. In juli ging het dividend nog met 2,5 procent omhoog ten opzichte van de 10 cent per aandeel in het vierde kwartaal van 2017.

    De oliereus mikt op een aantrekkende onderliggende productie dit jaar ten opzichte van 2018, vanwege nieuwe projecten. De daadwerkelijk gerapporteerde productie zal afhangen van de timing van onder meer overnames en desinvesteringen.

    BP overtreft verwachtingen in vierde kwartaal

    BP heeft afgelopen kwartaal de verwachtingen ruimschoots overtroffen. In totaal boekte het olie- en gasbedrijf een aangepaste nettowinst van bijna $3,5 mrd (€3,1 mrd). Dat is fors meer dan de dik $2,6 mrd die analisten hadden voorspeld, schrijft persbureau Bloomberg. Over het gehele jaar boekte BP een winst van $12,7 mrd.

    Ook wist BP betere financiële resultaten te boeken dan zijn Europese concurrent Shell. Het Britse concern zag het rendement op zijn kapitaal groeien van nog geen 6% in 2017 naar ruim 11% in het afgelopen jaar. Bij Shell lag dat vergelijkbare getal op 7,6%.

    BP wist meer olie en gas te verkopen en zijn bronnen efficiënter te benutten. De betrouwbaarheid van de 'upstream bronnen', zoals platforms op zee, liep op tot 96%, naar eigen zeggen een record. Ook de raffinage verliep zeer efficiënt. De installaties daarvoor konden 95% van de tijd draaien.

    Miljardeninvestering
    De cijfers zijn gunstig voor beleggers, niet in de laatste plaats omdat BP afgelopen jaar voor miljarden aan schaliegasvelden van BHP kocht en daarvoor nieuwe schulden aanging. Daarnaast was BP in 2018 opnieuw geld kwijt aan de olieramp in de Golf van Mexico in 2010. Afgelopen jaar betaalde BP hieraan na belasting $3,2 mrd. In totaal kreeg BP bijna $60 mrd aan boetes en schadevergoedingen te verwerken.

    De komende tijd wil BP in de kosten snijden door de oudere gasvelden die het van BHP kocht weer door te verkopen.

    Energietransitie
    BP zegt in zijn cijfers een 'leider in in de energietransitie' te zijn. Het concern nam onder meer een laadpaalnetwerk in het Verenigd Koninkrijk over. Een groep institutionele beleggers, waaronder het Nederlandse ambtenarenpensioenfonds ABP, willen dat BP zijn duurzaamheidsdoelen concreter gaat meten. Een resolutie daarover wordt in mei in stemming gebracht. Het bestuur zou de resolutie steunen.

    LONDEN (AFN) - Shell voert gesprekken met BP over de overname van diens belang in een gezamenlijk gasproject in de Noordzee. Dat meldden ingewijden rond de onderhandelingen aan persbureau Reuters.

    Het gaat om het belang van BP in het project Shearwater. BP bezit 28 procent, net als Shell. ExxonMobil heeft de rest. De waarde van het belang van BP zou ongeveer 250 miljoen dollar waard zijn. Naar verluidt zijn de gesprekken vergevorderd, al is er geen zekerheid dat een deal wordt gesloten.

    Begin dit jaar werd door ingewijden al gemeld dat BP van zijn belang in Shearwater afwilde. Shearwater bestaat uit twee platforms en een veld voor de oostkust van Schotland waaruit aardgas en condensaat wordt gewonnen. Shell is exploitant van het gasveld en werkt aan uitbreiding van het project.

    Winstval BP

    (ABM FN) BP heeft in het eerste kwartaal van dit jaar de winst flink zien dalen, vanwege zwakkere prijzen en marges. Dit maakte de Britse oliereus dinsdagochtend bekend.

    De zogeheten replacement cost profit (RC), een veelgebruikte maatstaf voor de winsten in de olie-industrie die ook rekening houdt met de fluctuaties in de olieprijs, kwam afgelopen kwartaal uit op 2,1 miljard dollar. Een jaar eerder stond er onder de streep nog een winst van 2,39 miljoen dollar.

    De onderliggende RC-winst, exclusief eenmalige kosten, daalde met 8,8 procent tot 2,4 miljard dollar. Analisten die bijdroegen aan de bedrijfsconsensus mikten voorafgaand aan de cijfers op een onderliggende RC-winst van 2,3 miljard dollar.

    De omzet liep afgelopen kwartaal terug met 2,5 procent tot 67,4 miljard dollar.

    In de eerste drie maanden van dit jaar kwam de operationele kasstroom uit op 5,9 miljard dollar, exclusief betalingen gerelateerd aan de olieramp bij de Golf van Mexico. In het afgelopen kwartaal bedroegen de betalingen gerelateerd aan de olieramp 600 miljoen dollar.

    BP wil een kwartaaldividend uitkeren van 10,25 cent per aandeel. Dit is in lijn met eerdere kwartalen, maar meer dan de 10,00 cent per aandeel een jaar eerder.

    BP reports resilient earnings in Q1

    Mr Bob Dudley Group CEO said “BP’s performance this quarter demonstrates the strength of our strategy. With solid Upstream and Downstream delivery and strong trading results, we produced resilient earnings and cash flow through a volatile period that began with weak market conditions and included significant turnarounds. Moving through the year, we will keep our focus on disciplined growth, with efficient project execution and safe and reliable operations.”

    RC profit (loss), underlying RC profit, operating cash flow excluding Gulf of Mexico oil spill payments and working capital are non-GAAP measures. These measures and Upstream plant reliability, major projects, inventory holding gains and losses, non-operating items and fair value accounting effects are defined in the Glossary on page 31.

    Underlying replacement cost profit for the first quarter of 2019 was USD 2.4 billion, compared to USD 2.6 billion a year earlier. The result reflected the weaker price and margin environment at the start of the quarter, partially offset by strong supply and trading results.

    Operating cash flow, excluding Gulf of Mexico oil spill payments, for the quarter was USD 5.9 billion, including a USD 1.0-billion working capital build (after adjusting for inventory holding gains). Gulf of Mexico oil spill payments in the quarter were USD 0.6 billion.

    New projects and marketing growth
    Reported oil and gas production for the quarter averaged 3.8 million barrels a day of oil equivalent. Upstream production, which excludes Rosneft, was 2% higher than a year earlier. BP-operated Upstream plant reliability was 96.2%.

    Integration of US onshore assets acquired from BHP continues, with BP taking operational control in March.

    Three Upstream major projects – in Trinidad, Egypt and the Gulf of Mexico – have started production in 2019 and BP has taken final investment decisions for three more Upstream major projects.

    Downstream continued growth in fuels marketing reflected increased numbers of convenience partnership sites and expansion in new markets.
    Advancing low carbon

    Strong progress is being made towards BP’s published targets for operational greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, with reduced operational GHG emissions in 2018, good delivery of sustainable GHG emissions reductions, and methane intensity remaining on target.
