De groei in automotive is in 2017 grotendeels veroorzaakt door de deal met Peugeot. Dit staat niet letterlijk in de toelichting van q3, maar dat kan je er wel uit opmaken.Dit is een contract uit 2012. Het orderboek van de afgelopen jaren zal langzaam in de omzet tot uitdrukking komen. Met een hogere take rate en nieuwe contracten die gaan bijdragen moet automotive makkelijk met 20% kunnen groeien. Het orderboek voor 2017 zegt niet alles over automotive. Ik zou graag willen weten welk percentage ze van van de beschikbare orders ze hebben binnengehaald. Contracten kunnen naar voren worden gehaald of opgeschoven worden. Het orderboek gaat wel het koersverloop bepalen voor de korte termijn.
Heb het idee dat het verdienmodel haast gelijk is aan die van B. Mence van Sopheon, I and Friends First.
laat 2018 het jaar van TomTom worden. Eindelijk zou je dan zeggen....we gaan het zien...
Navigatie Voor de testrit met de Fiat Tipo S-Design hebben de Italianen een mooie route uitgestippeld door de heuvels ten zuiden van Turijn. We hoeven geen kaart te gebruiken, want die staat op de prachtige navigatieset van TomTom die in het dashboard zit ingebouwd. Mooi om te zien is dat alle bekende gebouwen van de stad in 3D worden weergegeven op de digitale kaart. Langs de oever van de Po rijden we de stad uit richting de majestueuze basiliek van Superga.

TomTom Tot slot kiest Tehupuring ervoor om in 2018 in te zetten op TomTom. Tehupuring is onder andere positief over de groei bij het onderdeel Telematics en over de langlopende contracten die er zijn bij Automotive met Volvo, Peugeot en Toyota. Ook de dalende Amerikaanse dollar is voor TomTom positief omdat het ervoor zorgt dat de kosten die het bedrijf maakt lager uitvallen. Daarnaast ziet Tehupuring in de kaartendivisie een verborgen waarde van zo'n 2,8 miljard euro. In plaats van de aandelen op zijn kooplijstje te zetten, kiest Tehupuring voor het TomTom Rendement Certificaat. De uitbetaling hiervan komt neer op 10,10 euro, wat bij een prijs van 8,50 euro neerkomt op 19%. Voorwaarde hiervoor is dat TomTom tot en met 15 juni boven de 7,25 euro blijft.

Ongeacht de slotkoers op 29 december vind ik de huidige stand per definitie al een wanprestatie. Lager dan begin van het jaar bij een stijgende beurs én je ook nog eens begeven in een sector die nu al en de komende jaren enorm in de picture zal staan... ongelooflijk hoe je dat voor elkaar krijgt

Despite the company’s traditional reticence to discuss projects in the works, it’s widely believed that Apple is working on a major automotive project – speculation that took on new life when CEO Tim Cook described self-driving vehicles as “the mother of all AI.” As expected, Apple isn’t saying anything, but it gave another hint as to what’s apparently in the works this past week when the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published the company’s application for a patent on a new “autonomous navigation system” last week. News You Can Trust! Many of the autonomous systems being developed are intended to operate by linking up a broader network that would provide things like weather and traffic information. The Apple filing, which actually occurred in 2015, appears to focus on ways to make self-driving technology more efficient and able to operation on its own, rather than depending on a link to other vehicles or a highway infrastructure system.” It is meant to operate “independently of any data received from any devices external to the vehicle and any navigation data stored locally to the vehicle prior to any monitoring of navigation,” Apple said in the application. What the new filing means is far from certain, as it doesn’t provide any clear information on whether it is the primary focus for Apple or just a part of a broader program. Several years ago, the Wall Street Journal reported that Apple’s automotive efforts were known internally as Project Titan. It was initially suspected the tech giant was developing a fully electric vehicle along the lines of what Tesla has brought to market. But after hiring a number of automotive industry – as well as Tesla – veterans, reports circulating Apple had decided to cut back, even eliminate its auto project. More recent reports have indicated the company may have walked away from the idea of building its own vehicles, shifting focus to autonomous and fully driverless technologies. De AD-ontwikkelingen bij de techgiganten gaan exponentieel versnellen. Welke rol kan TT spelen en hoe groot wordt TT’s deel van de taart? Dat wordt dè vraag van 2018.
Iets doet mij vermoeden dat TT bij dit apple project betrokken is en er diep inzit. (vandaar het grote zwijgen ??)
Ik “merk”, dat ik het gevoel krijg, dat ik hoop dat dat bewaarheid wordt.
2018....jaar van de waarheid.... erop of eronder....TT moet kleur bekennen ....zelfstandig verder of deel van groter geheel.
