Eerlijk zeggen: wie van u leest dit stukje op zijn smartphone of tablet op het toliet van meubelboulevard of Ikea...? Wat een druildag en dat geldt ook voor de beurzen. Niet bij ons in Europa waar alles potdicht is, maar in Azië en straks ook in de VS. Het Verre Oosten bakt er niks van en straks het Verre Westen ook niet?
Zwáár tegenvallend Payroll Report vrijdag (Amerikaanse werkgelegenheidscijfers) en nu jammeren de markten omdat de Chinese inflatie een sneue twintig basispuntjes hoger uitkomt dan verwacht. Opvallend: helemaal geen EU-geruzie, gekneuter, gerollebol et cetera dit weekend. Zelfs niet over het wankele Spanje.
Over dat land gesproken: ik kan nu nog niet vinden of Spanje deze week met obligatieveilingen komt, in ieder geval wel Italië (twee keer), Duitsland (één keer) en de VS (iedere dag). Houd voor de andere landen mijn dagelijkse Voorbeursjes in de gaten. Frankrijk, Spanje en andere PIIGS weet ik pas op de dag zelf.
Cijferseizoen!
Verder begint deze week het nieuwe cijferseizoen! Beste nieuws vooraf is dat er géén belangrijke winstwaarschuwers zijn geweest, al kunnen er altijd nog een paar verschijnen. Misschien dat de speechende Ben Bernanke vannacht toch nog een potje met Fed op tafel zet, ofwel QE3 (zeg maar extra stimuli). Of vrijdag. Samen met eventueel nieuws over Spanje en mogelijke, forse afwijkingen in de consensuverwachtingen van de cijferende Amerikaanse bedrijven lijken mij dit de items van deze week
Houd u deze week ook de obligatiekoersen scherp in de gaten, want het zogenaamde veilige AA(A)papier van vooral VS en Duitsland is weer niet aan te slepen. Alle staatsmeuk in Europa die met een andere lettere begint gaat rücksichtlos achter de rododendron. Nederland houdt de voeten droog.
Krijgt u van mij nog een paar opmerkingen mee over de markt hier en nu (actuele markten geklokt om 13:00 uur). Nee, de bekerwinst van PSV en de galavoorstelling van Tom Boonen kunnen beleggers niet vermurwen. Het is bar en boos... Alleen goud stijgt.
- De Amerikaanse futures lijken nog wat dizzy van dat zwaar tegenvallende Payroll Report vrijdag
- Azië kleurt collectief rood, met in Japan, India, Korea en Taiwan zelfs een één voor de komma
- EUR/USD knoeit verder achterin de 1,30'ers
- Goud herstelt wat, zilver niet en oliebenchmarks WTI en Brent krijgen ook klapjes. Alsjebieft Royal Dutch Shell, maar vooral minfin JayKay de Jager: gooi die benzinepprijzen eens omlaag. Dit is echt niet leuk meer

- U.S. equity futures and Asian stocks dropped for a fourth day as data on job creation in the world’s biggest economy trailed estimates. The yen strengthened to a one-month high against the dollar and oil declined. (Bloomberg)
- China’s inflation accelerated more than forecast in March on a pickup in food price. Consumer prices rose 3.6 percent from a year earlier, the National Bureau of Statistics said today. That was more than the median 3.4 percent estimate in a Bloomberg News survey of 33 economists. Food-related costs gained 7.5 percent. (Bloomberg)
- The March setback in hiring will prove temporary as the U.S. economy, in its third year of expansion, now is better equipped to overcome a slowdown in Europe and rising fuel costs, economists said. (Bloomberg)
- U.S. stocks are at the start of a more meaningful correction and possibly even a bear market, Marc Faber, the editor and publisher of the Gloom, Boom and Doom report told CNBC in Singapore on Saturday, though he added that further money printing would likely limit the decline in the S&P 500. - Big U.S. companies have emerged from the deepest recession since World War II more productive and more profitable, but the performance hasn't translated into significant gains in U.S. employment. (WSJ)
