Als zoeken op ISIN code geen resultaten oplevert hebben wij het instrument of aandeel niet in onze koersendatabase.

    Goed nieuws voor wie ? In ieder geval gaat Oculus alleen maar down .Nu alweer te koop voor 2,57 .Geert zijn tip werkt nog steeds niet goed .
    Zowel Ruthigen als Oculus omlaag inderdaad ... misschien moeten ze een keer slecht nieuws publiceren en gaan we omhoog :-)
    Biotech is meestal een lange zit ... ik heb een mandje biotech's en zie het wel hoe ze over 5 jaar staan.

    President Calls for New Tools to Combat Bacterial Infections


    The development of new tools to combat bacterial infections was named as a top priority by President Obama in an executive order signed Thursday, Sept. 18, designed to address the growing problem of antibiotic resistance. As part of the executive order,
    the administration released the “National Strategy on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria,” a five-year plan to prevent and contain outbreaks and develop the next generation of drugs, test and vaccines.

    A top focus of the National Strategy is the need to replace antibiotics that have lost their effectiveness through antibiotic resistance with new drugs, including new antibiotics as well as alternatives to antibiotics. The National Strategy calls for intensified efforts to boost basic scientific research, facilitate clinical trials, attract greater private investment and increase the number of drug candidates in the drug-development pipeline to combat resistant bacteria.

    The executive order calls for establishing an inter-agency task force charged with developing a national action plan to combat antibiotic resistance to be submitted to the President by Feb. 15, 2015.

    The President’s announcement was followed on Friday, Sept. 19, by a hearing on the issue of antibiotic resistance before the Subcommittee on Health of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Energy & Commerce Committee. The goal of the hearing, entitled “21st Century Cures: Examining Ways to Combat Antibiotic Resistance and Foster New Drug Development” was to examine the growing threat of antibiotic resistance and explore ways to counteract it.

    “Once nature adapts, it’s hard to force nature to unadapt,” Rep. Michael C. Burgess, M.D., of Texas, who is vice chairman of the committee, said in his opening remarks. “Resistant strains are out there and are not going away.”

    The hearing was part of a broader Energy & Commerce Committee initiative called 21st Century Cures that is focused on improving cures — from the discovery of clues in basic science to streamlining the drug and device development process to unleashing the power of digital medicine and social media in treatment delivery.

    The increased national attention that is being focused on the growing problem of antibiotic-resistance by the executive and legislative branches is a very good thing. As the administration’s National Strategy points out, this is an urgent issue:

    “As more strains of bacteria become resistant to an ever-larger number of antibiotics, our drug choices have become increasingly limited and more expensive and, in some cases, nonexistent,” the National Strategy concludes. “In a world with few effective antibiotics, modern medical advances such as surgery, transplants and chemotherapy may no longer be viable due to the threat of infection.”

    As the government moves forward with initiatives to address the issue of antibiotic resistance, it is important that it focuses on alternatives that can be used in conjunction with or in place of antibiotics. As we have noted before in this column, bacteria are very skilled at eluding the drugs that are developed to combat them. The time to resistance for new antibiotics is now less than a year.

    If the national effort to address this problem is to be effective, we need to develop better antibiotics as well as anti-infective therapies that do not promote the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

    Beter dan verwachtte cijfers ... zal wel weer betekenen dat de koers omlaag gaat morgen.

    Oculus Innovative Sciences (NASDAQ:OCLS): FQ2 EPS of -$0.08 beats by $0.10.
    Revenue of $3.3M (-19.3% Y/Y) beats by $0.01M.

    Ook een aantal goeie initiatieven ... een keer een minder kwartaal heeft ook zo zijn voordelen dus ;-) :

    "We have set in motion three key new initiatives which we believe will return us to strong revenue growth," said Jim Schutz, Oculus CEO. "First, beginning this quarter, our team is planning to launch six new products in the United States over the next six months using our direct sales force. Second, Europe continues to be a bright spot with four new CE Mark approvals for acne, scar treatment, atopic dermatitis and the treatment of skin procedures. We are creating a country-specific dermatology-distribution network in Europe, starting this week at Medica, a major medical trade fair in Germany. Third, we have selected two new partners that are highly experienced in the animal healthcare market to launch the Microcyn® line of animal healthcare products in the United States in 2015."

    ze hebben producten waar geen anti-biotica in zit ... en anti-biotica wordt een steeds groter probleem. Obama heeft zich er zelf oer uitgesproken paar maanden geleden. Dus je zou zeggen dat moet goed gaan komen.
    In Europa zijn wat producten goedgekeurd recent, dus dat zou een groeimarkt kunnen worden.
    Hun 50% deelneming in Ruthigen zal flink in waarde gaan toenemen als het product van Ruthigen FDA approval krijgt, maar dat duurt nog een tijdje.
    Ik lees ook verhalen op SA dat het allemaal een scam is, en dat ze gewoon bleekwater verkopen. Moeilijk voor te stellen dat ze wereldwijd producten verkopen, en dat het niks is ... maar goed, trek je eigen conclusie.

    Ik bang dat Oculus een soort Antonov is. Een historie van dubieus grote aandelenuitgiftes, zonder duidelijk opgaaf van waarom precies, zonder ook maar iets op te leveren van hun beloftes. Het is een echt bedrijf met een balans en wat omzet, maar volgens mij is het primaire business model aandelen uitgeven en zo een dik salaris uitkeren aan de directeuren die eigenlijk vrij weinig uitspoken.

    Wat betreft de waardering, het aandeel noteert nu 1x de omzet en precies op het cash niveau, dus veel risico zul je nu niet lopen, maar de vraag is waarom het aandeel omhoog zou gaan. Op deze manier verliezen ze elke maand geld, waardoor je over x aantal maanden weer aandelenverwatering zult zien. Uiteindelijk zal de koers langzaam naar 0 gaan.

    Er zitten veel bedrijven die een half-achtige scam operatie uitvoeren, dus enerzijds een soort van echte business bedrijven, maar aan de andere kant lukraak aandelenuitgiftes plaatsen. Zeg nou zelf, zou je zelf geen directeur willen zijn met vrij weinig uitspoken maar intussen wel een paar ton pakken?

    Geert Schaaij vond het - zo horen we hem zeggen - op 18-05-14 voor $3,30 nog een te goedkoop aandeel (nu ruim < 1 dollar). Hij schreef er zelfs een uitgebreid artikel over in zijn blad en heeft het op TV nog extra onder de aandacht willen brengen. Kort daarna kon je op de (vermoedelijk) verplichte positie meldingen Oculus niet meer vinden bij Beursgenoten.
