SCON high temperature superconductive wire - 2015 top pick
Volgen
SCON - 2015 top pick - High temperature superconducting wire Two years late but finally turning new technology into commercial production. Proprietary leading edge technology for high temperature superconducting wire. Company website http://www.suptech.com/home.php No need for cash – They cancelled their existing shelf registration after a dilution in 2013. First commercial deal to come coming months. - Production process consists of three pieces of machinery. Final third stage machine installed in late august 2014, installed in September and being tuned in. - One commercial production line of kilometer lengths has roughly capacity for 750 kilometer of wire per year - Rough revenue projection for 750km of wire ~ 35 million dollar per year - Highly scale-able : any new production line will take roughly 8-11 million in machinery - Many sample wires already sent on their smaller 50meter pilot machine in the past year. - No debt - No existing shelf registration - Existing warrants in place - Fairly low volume here and about 1.7 million shorts Technicals: low volume daily chart , nicely bottomed for this smallcap. More interesting is the weekly chart:stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=SCON&p=...
STI Enters Final Stage of Conductus Wire Production Equipment Assembly Completes Hardware Installation and Begins Final Component Assembly of the One Kilometer RCE System to Prepare for Commercial Volume Wire Production September PR onductus(R) Superconducting Wire Manufacturing To produce Conductus wire there are three key manufacturing processes: (1) Solution Deposition Planarization (SDP) to smooth commercial-grade stainless steel or hastelloy substrate; (2) Ion Beam Assisted Deposition (IBAD) to produce the right surface conditions on the substrate to form a template; and (3) The proprietary Reactive Co-evaporation Cyclic Deposition and Reaction (RCE-CDR) of high temperature superconducting (HTS) materials onto the template.finance.yahoo.com/news/sti-enters-fin...
expect to ramp production in Q1 2015 . BUT!! Superconducting wire , in order to start production you need the specifics which wire the clients needs. In order to know that you need the client to order. Third machine for the 1 km line done late sept.. being finetuned and readied for production.. whcih they expect to ramp in Q1 2015.. SO commercial deal Q4 2014 likely... 35 million revenue per line per year... gonna be interesting
Wire production ramp up will need specifications and for that will need clients input !! Quite simple: Their 1 kilometer length production line is being fine fine tuned after the third an final piece of big equipment has been delivered to their manufacturing facility. They have a partnership deal announced in september with an institute very knowledgeable in finishing layers (outer layer on top of scon;s wire) They stated to start production in Q4 2014 and ramp production in Q1 2015. The wire can be produced with varying specification though. So in order to ramp production, you need to know the specification of wire the client wants. In order to hear that you need to have a client. Commercial deal coming soon here in my view. Prior to production ramp. Superconducting wire to date has been hard to scale up production, there is more demand out there than supply for a considerable time. Companies DO need to test wire samples to see how they can use the wire in their own product designs, whether it be fault current limiters or other. Total production capacity of the finished line is 750 kilometer wire per year, with rough revenue value of 35 million per year. Good thing about SCON's technology is that it finally is highly scale-able
SCON 22k volume common stock... yet 1300 call contracts today
"Deal with US company Opens Doors" Oct 7th 2014 "Robinson Research will use STI’s HTS wire to fabricate Roebel cable and, in partnership with New Zealand and international companies, undertake projects demonstrating the value of HTS technologies in the target magnet, generator and transformer markets" The title of this article was posted on Oct 7th, making it the most recent article summarizing the same PR from Sept 17th from STI and RRI with the only difference being the statement Above where they say RRI WILL USE STI's HTS Wire to Fabricate ROEBEL CABLE in partnership. So just like the Amp City project(Essens Ger), Manhatten cable project, Con Ed/Nexans/AMSC Chicago project, and other Projects. It appears that any orders will be for more projects until all the Parties involved(Governments, Elec. Co's, etc..) feel confident to go ahead and Build out the Technology across the world(of course they will need Supply of superior, cost effective, hts wire to do this). It will be interesting to see just what the 1st Order(s) are for(MRI, HPC, NMR, FCL, etc..). Maybe Conductus superior technology can push these projects into major implementations sooner rather than later. Remember that LS Cable ordered 3,000,000 meters(3000 kilometers) of HTS wire from AMSC a few years back to Insure an adequate supply for LS cable projects planned and expected. That order alone equals 2 STI production machines and revenue of 140M....so you can only wonder what other potential power cable company needs to insure sufficient wire for future projects. Let's start the down payments on Machines now! SCON
STI Preparing for Commercial Production of Conductus Superconducting Wire - New Conductus production machine operational - - Strong customer demand for Conductus continues to outpace supply - AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Superconductor Technologies Inc. (SCON) ("STI"), a world leader in the development and production of high temperature superconducting (HTS) materials and associated technologies, reported its one kilometer RCE system (RCE-1000) completed final assembly, meets all required design specifications and is operational. Now STI is focused on software testing and process development as it prepares to scale production for the commercial launch of Conductus(R) wire. "With our RCE-1000, SDP and IBAD machines operational, we are positioned to produce Conductus wire on a commercial scale ," said Jeff Quiram, STI's president and chief executive officer. "Previously, the limited capacity of our pilot equipment constrained our customers' evaluation and qualification process. We are very excited we have the ability to increase Conductus supply, which will enable our customers to conclude testing in their electrical devices and initiate their production orders." "Our customer demand is increasing as the industry begins to focus on commercialization of superconducting products. We continue to strengthen relationships with existing customers as well as engage with new ones who initiated evaluation for the qualification of Conductus wire for use in their devices. During the third quarter of 2014, we shipped Conductus wire to four new and six existing customers. Of these ten customers, seven are in Stage 1 evaluation, including wire characterization and performance testing, and three are for Stage 2, involving significantly more rigorous testing to simulate devices for commercial deployment. The additional orders continue to outpace our supply, and the commercial RCE-1000 will alleviate this constraint as we ramp availability in late 2014 and beyond." Conductus(R) Superconducting Wire Manufacturing To produce Conductus wire there are three key manufacturing processes: (1) Solution Deposition Planarization (SDP) to smooth commercial-grade stainless steel or hastelloy substrate; (2) Ion Beam Assisted Deposition (IBAD) to produce a template, allowing for the right surface conditions for the growth of superconducting material; and (3) The proprietary Reactive Co-evaporation Cyclic Deposition and Reaction (RCE-CDR) of superconducting materials onto the manufactured template.
Benieuwd wanneer eerste sales bericht komt.
