    Clinuvel enters a joint venture with Biotech Lab Singapore Development of pediatric formulations for EPP and a topical melanocortin peptide [CUV9900] for dermatology
    Baar, Switzerland and Melbourne, Australia, September 19 2014
    Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: CUV; XETRA-DAX: UR9; ADR: CLVLY) today announced that it has reached agreement on terms and conditions with Biotech Lab Singapore Pte Ltd (BLS) to enter a joint venture (to be called Vallaurix Pte Ltd) for the final development of formulations for paediatric use of afamelanotide, and CUV9900, a novel melanocortin peptide for topical application for skin care. Clinuvel retains a majority interest in the partnership. The financial terms have not been disclosed.
    In the joint venture, Clinuvel will lead and oversee the scientific aspects including the regulatory development of the melanocortins whereas BLS will be managing chemistry and formulation development in Asia.
    RATIONALE FOR FOLLOW-ON PRODUCTS The innovative clinical use of SCENESSE® (afamelanotide 16 mg - Clinuvel’s lead product, currently under European regulatory review) over the past decade has provided Clinuvel with specific knowledge of the clinical use and safety of melanocortins in dermatology.
    The feedback received during the European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) regulatory review of SCENESSE® played an important role in the timing of the joint venture’s establishment. Vallaurix Pte Ltd will focus on the development of the paediatric formulations of afamelanotide for erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP), as well as CUV9900, a melanocortin peptide intended to be used as a complementary therapy in photodermatoses and depigmentation disorders such as vitiligo.
    INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY The paediatric formulations and CUV9900 will be part of the proprietary portfolio of the joint venture.
    TIMELINES Subject to a positive regulatory outcome of SCENESSE® in Europe in October 2014, the formulations for paediatric use in EPP will be developed to stay within the timelines committed to the EMA.
    The development of CUV9900 for topical use follows a strategic plan to evaluate its’ stability, clinical efficacy and safety.
    “In view of the development progress of SCENESSE®, we identified this as the right time to advance new formulations for paediatric use in EPP and CUV9900 for the complementary treatment of skin disorders,” Clinuvel’s Acting Chief Scientific Officer, Dr Dennis Wright said.
    “After months of negotiations, the Board has found a good commercial outcome with BLS, a local partner providing us with access to Asia and China and capable of proportionally sharing in the development costs and commercial upside of future products,” Clinuvel’s Chair, Mr Stan McLiesh said.
    “SCENESSE® has been a central part of our business plan to catalyse further downstream development of complementary formulations and next products,” Mr McLiesh added. “For years the Board has strived to realise the vision of furthering the development of SCENESSE® into complementary treatments. This vision was shared by our recently departed and much respected Board member Jack Wood and I am excited to play a part in realising this vision”.

    Het blijft toch bijzonder, in de aanloop een stijging door koop.
    In afwachting weer een hoop verkoop!

    Tja, dat is nu de vraag, weet er iemand meer, of maakt iemand juist gebruik van die onzekerheid. Op sharescene en google groups ook een hoop speculatie.
    Wel zuur om te zien dat papieren winst in een week tijd een heel eind weg is, hoop dat we dieptepunt nu wel weer hebben gehad.. Ik geloof er in elk geval nog steeds in, heb weer gedeelte teruggekocht.

    Koud watervrees. Zelfs sharescene topper Royco wordt een beetje zenuwachtig .
    Er zijn nu zelfs speculaties of het toch niet na de COMP meeting bekend wordt gemaakt.
    Wat kun je nu nog doen? Waarover nog speculeren? Er zit niks anders op dan wachten
    tot eind oktober. Is al over drie weken btw.

    Volgens mij was het Plato die zei: " Nieuwsgierigen moeten leren hun geduld te bewaren."

    Kun je het nog maken om een medicijn waar patiënten zoveel baat bij hebben en wat al zo lang gebruikt wordt in meerdere landen af te keuren?
    Jaag je de EPP patienten dan niet terug de schaduw in? Moreel onaanvaardbaar. Ik vraag me af of een afkeuring, waar ik niet van uit ga
    stand houdt voor het Europese Hof. Tenzij je een knalhard argument hebt
    om Scenesse niet toe te laten.

    Het is niet ondenkbaar dat de gehoorde patienten van doorslaggevend belang zijn. Dat Scenesse veilig is weten we al, dat het werkt ook.
    er zijn ondertussen al meerdere interviews van deelnemers aan de trails geweest, ( o.a. in Trouw, ik dacht 12 september) waarin duidelijk wordt dat de kwaliteit van leven met het gebruik van Scenesse enorm verbetert.
    Je moet dan wel een enorme hork zijn om nee te zeggen.

    Had ik ook moeten doen, op 5,20. Maar ik trap in een klassieke beleggersfout, als de koers omhoog gaat niet verkopen want hij gaat vast nog ( veel ) hoger, en als de koers omlaag gaat niet verkopen, want lager kan toch niet? Timing is cruciaal maar ook lastig.

    Ondertussen gonst het van de geruchten, de jaarlijkse aandeelhoudersvergadering zou later dan gebruikelijk gepland zijn, omdat
    men bij Clinuvel al weet dat er een goedkeuring komt en men ongeveer een maand nodig heeft om
    de uitslag in een uitrol te verwerken, in combinatie met Amerika en het Vitiligo traject. Sappig.

    Ja timing blijft het punt. Daarom koop ik meestal stapsgewijs bij als het daalt en omgekeerd.
    over timing gesproken, zat al paar maanden met AEX puts een daling af te wachten, totdat ik het twee weken geleden niet meer dalen zag, dus puts eruit op 1 euro nog wat. Vrijdag stonden ze op 15...

    Er gaan zelfs geruchten dat Wolgen vreemde stappen begint te maken zoals de joint venture met Biotech Lab. Een bedrijf zonder kantoor etc. Dit als gevolg dat hij al weet dat het in de EU niets wordt en dus zijn pijlen richt op Azië.
    Maar goed, dat zijn allemaal spastische geruchten :)

    Nog een week, dan kunnen we kijken welke geruchten waar zijn en welke niet.
    De huidige daling komt door de algehele malaise? Ondertussen:

    Wie doet er mee aan de wedstrijd om de Scenesse glazenbol Trofee?
    Voorspel de koers van vrijdag 24 oktober en maak kans op deze prachtige trofee!

    daling idd door slecht beursklimaat, maar op vrijwel geen volume, dus eigenlijk blijft iedereen zitten en wachten tot volgende week. Ik vraag me af hoe laat eventueel het bericht naar buiten gaat komen. wordt spannend. Zit te denken om tijdelijk een realtime boekje abonnement te nemen om alles goed te kunnen volgen. Porto heeft flink klappen opgelopen laatste dagen, hoop het volgende week allemaal weer goed te maken..
