    Ging lekker inderdaad gisteren, dat zijn van die momenten dat je blij bent dat je niet de gok hebt genomen even uit te stappen - Nu heb ik toch die gok al lang niet meer genomen -
    Nu maar wel hopen dat er doorgepakt wordt. Vaak hebben de shorts al snel in de gaten dat er PEIX beleggers zijn die geen risico nemen en weer uit willen stappen na zo'n dag, waarna het aandeel trapsgewijs weer terug valt.
    Als vandaag echter het aandeel nog een procent of 5 á 6 klimt heb ik er wel vertrouwen in.

    Ethanol futures zijn echter nog niet echt gestegen.

    Nu zie ik echter altijd als ik daarop op de 30 min. chart kijk de prijs maar tot 12.30 uur doorlopen. Geen idee waarom dat is, misschien betekend dat, dat de huidige prijs nog niet echt in de chart verwerkt is, want de uitspraak was na 12.30 uur volgens mij.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif., Dec. 16, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (NASDAQ:PEIX), a leading producer and marketer of low-carbon renewable fuels in the United States, announced it is now producing cellulosic ethanol at its Stockton, CA facility using Edeniq, Inc.’s Pathway Technology.

    Neil Koehler, the company’s president and CEO, stated, “We are now commercially producing cellulosic ethanol using Edeniq’s Pathway enzyme at our Stockton facility. This is an important step in our strategy to increase production yields at our plants and our mission to be the leading producer and marketer of low-carbon renewable fuels. We are working with Edeniq and the Environmental Protection Agency to qualify these gallons for generating D3 cellulosic RINs, which carry a premium over conventional ethanol, and we expect to receive EPA approval in the first quarter of 2016.”

    Edeniq’s Pathway Technology integrates Edeniq’s Cellunator™ high shear equipment with cellulase enzymes to convert corn kernel fiber to fermentable sugars. Edeniq’s Pathway Technology includes a proprietary technical validation process that enables customers to quantify the amount of cellulosic ethanol produced within their plants and comply with the registration, recordkeeping, and reporting required by the EPA to generate cellulosic D3 Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) as defined by the Renewable Fuel Standard.

    “Our Pathway Technology enables ethanol plants to produce cellulosic ethanol directly in existing fermentation vessels at a very low cost,” said Brian Thome, President and CEO of Edeniq. “Pacific Ethanol’s production of cellulosic ethanol is an important landmark for both of our companies, and for the ethanol industry.”

    The Stockton plant, a facility with a production capacity of 60 million gallons per year, is expected to produce up to 750,000 gallons per year of cellulosic ethanol with the Pathway process.

    Gaat weer als vanouds ;-) Ik denk dat PEIX de komende tijd tot $2,5 kan gaan zakken als gevolg van de lage olie en ethanol prijs. We kunnen ook leuke up ticks zien bijvoorbeeld in aanloop naar of ten gevolge van de wekelijkse EIA cijfers morgen, maar ik vrees dat we het komende jaar blij mogen zijn als we tussen de $2,5 en $4,5 blijven.
    Naar mijn idee zijn de olie producerende landen nu echt begonnen te proberen de schaalolie fabrikanten uit de markt te werken en nemen ze daar het komende half jaar voor. Daarna kunnen ze weken aan een voorzichtig herstel.

    Sancties tegen Iran opgeheven, de olie prijs verder onder druk...afgelopen week leek ethanol weer een beetje zijn eigen koers te gaan varen omdat door de EPA verordening ethanol ook bij een lage olieprijs nodig zal blijven.
    Maar ik denk dat deze week ethanol wel weer met de olieprijs mee zal zakken. De export zal ook wel terug lopen vermoed ik.
    Wordt weer een vervelend weekje vrees ik.

    Pacific Ethanol (NASDAQ:PEIX) +9.9% premarket after posting better than expected Q4 earnings and a 47% Y/Y revenue increase.

    PEIX says it aims to improve its results by cutting production, further lowering production costs and expanding sales of higher-value ethanol, among other steps.

    "We are confident that the fundamentals of ethanol as a valuable source of octane and carbon reductions will support continued growth in demand and improved production margins," the company says.

    Last week, the company paid $17M in cash to retire remaining debt on its four west coast plants.

    Ik heb het niet zo op Hedge Funds, maar zo lang ze de boel niet laten ploffen, kan ik me wel vinden in hun strategie. Maar laat ze het liefst even wachten tot de olie prijs weer goed op weg is richting de $80 of hoger. In ieder geval komen ze op voor de belegger. Wat op zich bij PEIX geen kwaad kan.
