Firms Hike Spending on Oil and Gas Activity Offshore Norway in 2024 By Charles Kennedy - Feb 15, 2024, 12:30 PM CST Total investments in oil and gas activity offshore Norway, including pipeline transportation, are estimated to hit $23 billion (244 billion Norwegian crowns) this year, up by 5% compared to last quarter’s assessment, Statistics Norway said on Thursday. The latest forecast for 2024 for the sectors oil and gas, manufacturing, mining and quarrying, and electricity supply now suggests investments in these sectors combined would jump by around 30% this year compared to 2023. Last year, total investments in oil and gas extraction and pipeline transport in Norway stood at $20.3 billion (215 billion crowns), up by 22% compared to 2022. Oil Gains 2% as Israel Rejects Gaza Ceasefire Deal, US Gas Inventory Plummets “The reason for the large investments in oil and gas industry is mainly due to a strong increase in investments in field development, with an increase of 52 percent in 2023 compared to 2022,” said Ståle Mæland, senior advisor at Statistics Norway. Investments in 2025 are also expected to be high, “mainly due to higher estimates in fields on stream,” the statistics office said. Oil and gas companies plan to boost exploration activity and spending offshore Norway this year as Western Europe’s top oil and gas producer looks to maintain production and raise exports to the rest of Europe. Currently, most exploration efforts are focused on areas around existing infrastructure so discoveries can be tied back quickly and create value while the fields are still in operation, the Norwegian Offshore Directorate said in its annual report last month. While this is important for maintaining production levels in the near and medium term, the directorate said it “would like to see companies exploring actively in more frontier areas.” The robust exploration and production activity of the past year is set to continue into 2024, it noted in the report. This year, exploration activity will pick up, with 40 to 50 exploration wells planned by operators, up from 34 exploration wells spudded last year, according to the authority.

www.offshore-mag.com/field-developmen... Leuk artikel over de toekomstverwachtingen. Korte samenvatting.
SBM is spotgoedkoop.

Uit een nieuwsbrief nav de cijfers van ModecConclusion: time for SBMO to harvest on world market leadership Seeing that SBM Offshore from a project award (more and large FPSOs) perspective, from an emission reduction perspective, and from a floating wind perspective is some c. 3-5 years ahead of Modec, it in our view now should be able to make use of its clear lead, by further improving its target returns, accelerating the cash coming to the company, and hopefully be able to use that cash for new SBB action. Despite the fact that SBM Offshore is scoring tier-1 ESG rating agency reports, as it is leading the industry towards lower emission production, Continental European investors to their end clients simply can’t explain an investment in SBM Offshore. As such, we are curious to see whether new CEO Øivind Tangen might contemplate moving the HQ or listing to another country or region, such as Norway (also Euronext) or USA
Heb toevallig vandaag wat out of the money calls gekocht voor maart.

www.sbmoffshore.com/investors/analyst... Nieuwe consensus staat online.
12 Oct 2023SBM Offshore is pleased to announce the successful installation of the 3 floating wind units for the Provence Grand Large pilot project to their final location 17 kilometers off the Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, near Marseille, France . This marks a major milestone in the company’s Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation scope. Provence Grand Large is the first project in the world to use a tension leg floater developed by SBM Offshore in cooperation with IFP Energies Nouvelles. SBM Offshore's floater results in reduced motion and stress on the turbine components, hence is compatible with all wind turbines. The minimal footprint of this type of floater represents also an optimal solution for the development of floating wind farms. The anchoring system installation and hook-up of the floaters were managed and executed using our construction vessel Normand Installer. The subsea cables will be installed from the floaters to the Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône station, with first electron anticipated early 2024 following a testing period. The 25MW pilot farm is composed of three tension leg floaters, each supporting 8.4MW wind turbine generator supplied by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. These are the most powerful turbines installed offshore in France today. Provence Grand Large is expected to produce the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 45,000 inhabitants. This project is a testimony of SBM Offshore's commitment to the energy transition, reducing emissions and developing new energy solutions.
Inkomsten voor de toekomst. 15 september 2023 SBM Offshore and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) are pleased to announce the signing of a Partnership Agreement that will offer a CO2 capture solution for Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSO) as they are producing oil and gas from offshore reservoirs. The agreement follows a successful engineering and design study between the companies demonstrating the technical feasibility and commercial readiness of CO2 capture technology offshore. The CO2 capture solution will apply MHI’s proprietary “Advanced KM CDR ProcessTM” technology, jointly developed with The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. The technology enables significant greenhouse gas emissions reductions from FPSOs by capturing CO2 from onboard gas turbines. It is estimated that the CO2 capture technology can reduce CO2 emissions from overall FPSO operations by up to 70%. The solution is being developed as part of SBM Offshore’s emissionZERO® program and is based on a combination of MHI’s proprietary CO2 capture technology and SBM Offshore’s industry leading Fast4ward® principles. Demand for decarbonization of FPSO operations is expected to increase rapidly. Through this collaboration, the companies will aim to open the door to offshore CO2 capture and storage development, making a concrete contribution to carbon neutrality efforts. Olivier Icyk, Managing Director of Floating Production Solutions at SBM Offshore commented: “The signing of this Partnership Agreement marks a key development within our emissionZERO® program, whose goal is to provide FPSOs with near-zero emissions. The technology, which we are now able to offer clients, is an essential solution to substantially reduce the carbon footprint of our FPSOs. We are pleased to partner up with MHI, a top player whose carbon capture technology perfectly complements our leading experience in floating energy solutions.” Kenji Terasawa, CEO and Head of Engineering Solutions at MHI commented:
