    Amerikaanse spion

    Rusland heeft alvast een "so called" Amerikaanse spion opgepakt in Rusland. Slecht idee van die Russen. Europa (vooral de zonnige oorden) bulkt van de Russen. Ik werd enkele maanden geleden liftend meegenomen door een aardige Rus (ze bestaan) in Altea / Spanje. Hij had nog gewerkt in Uranium mijnen in het verre Oosten van Rusland.

    We kunnen 1000'en Russen oppakken in Turkije, Spanje, Egypte, etc... Misschien moeten we alvast een stock aanleggen om ze te ruilen tegen de weinige Westerlingen die zich nog in Rusland wagen en die zowieso gaan opgepakt worden.

    Russisch meisje (13) schrijft vanuit weeshuis naar vader in strafkamp: 'Jij bent mijn held'

    Het Russische meisje Masja Moskaljova en haar klasgenoten maken in april 2022 een tekening voor Russische soldaten in Oekraïne. Masja (toen 12) tekent twee vlaggen en schrijft erbij dat ze hoopt dat de oorlog stopt. Bijna een jaar later zit zij in een weeshuis en staat haar vader Aleksej Moskaljov zeker twee jaar strafkamp te wachten wegens landverraad. Masja schreef een brief vanuit het weeshuis aan haar vader die door zijn advocaat is gepubliceerd.

    ‘Oekraïense ouders verbergen kinderen maandenlang in schuilkelders’

    Oekraïense vrijwilligers die helpen bij de evacuatie van burgers uit oorlogsgebied treffen soms schrijnende situaties aan, zoals ouders die hun kinderen uit angst voor gevechten en ontvoeringen maandenlang in schuilkelders houden. Dat vertellen ze aan de Britse krant The Guardian. De meeste vrijwilligers zien dit als een gevolg van armoede en de psychologische toestand van de families, die al maandenlang worden gebombardeerd.

    De Oekraïense regering heeft lokale autoriteiten in Bachmoet de bevoegdheid gegeven om kinderen zo nodig onder dwang uit de stad te evacueren. Maar elders langs de frontlinie van zo’n 1000 kilometer is dat niet toegestaan.

    Soms vertellen andere burgers de evacuatieteams waar kinderen verborgen zitten. ‘Dus we gingen daarheen en ze was sinds september niet buiten geweest’, vertelt een van de vrijwilligers, Sasja. De handen van de kinderen waren grijs van het gebrek aan zonlicht. De moeder vertelde dat ze bang was om naar buiten te gaan, en dat ze nergens heen kon. De vrijwilligers horen dat vaker, en pleiten voor betere herplaatsingsprogramma’s.

    Een andere vrijwilliger, Ignatius Ivlev-Yorke, vertelt over de geestelijke gezondheidsproblemen waar veel burgers in oorlogsgebied mee kampen. Ze zitten vaak maanden bij elkaar, zonder elektriciteit, water, gas of frisse lucht, terwijl boven hun hoofden de bommen langsvliegen. De redenen waarom ze blijven lopen uiteen: bijvoorbeeld omdat ze een familielid of huisdier niet achter willen laten, of omdat ze denken dat ze geen verblijfplaats zouden kunnen vinden.

    F-35 over Poland can transmit data to Soviet MiG-29 over Ukraine

    WARSAW, POLAND — An exercise over Europe could provide an unexpectedly good combination to help the Ukrainian Air Force. It is a joint work on the transfer of data between the American stealth fighter of the fifth generation F-35 Lightning II and the Soviet fighter of the fourth generation MiG-29. Realistically, the F-35 could become a key player in Eastern Europe and the war in Ukraine.

    A NATO exercise over Poland took place a few days ago. During this exercise, MiG-29s of the Polish Air Force and F-35s of the Royal Netherlands Air Force flew in joint pairs. Interestingly, this exercise had another purpose – training to perform Air Policing – a common air action not only in wartime but also in peacetime. F-16 and Rafale fighters also participated.

    However, the exercise showed an unexpectedly good relationship between one of the pairs of F-35s and MiG-29s that took off from Malbork Air Base, Poland. The two fighters exchanged data and intercepted a hypothetical enemy target. In addition to the interception of conditional targets, the two fighters coordinated actions to secure the flights of two Polish cargo planes also participating in the exercise.
    Data transfer

    Many experts are already saying that the combination of a fourth-generation Soviet fighter and a fifth-generation Western fighter is quite intriguing. This is important because it could turn out to be an unsuspected opportunity for NATO, allies, and the Ukrainian Air Force.

    Indian Air Force veteran and military expert Vijainder K. Thakur shares quite an interesting opinion. According to him, this exercise demonstrated the possibility of the F-35 transmitting data to the MiG-29, thus guiding it. Most likely, it is about detecting enemy targets that the outdated Soviet radar cannot detect today, but the F-35s can. Just as drones direct artillery fire, the F-35 can direct a shot at a MiG-29, although the target does not show up on the Soviet fighter’s radar.

    The F-35 can use the MiG-29 by flying in position behind it, and the MiG-29 is actually the weapon system. Put in simpler terms: an F-35 stationed over Poland can transmit targeting data to Ukrainian MiG 29 fighters operating over Ukraine. Thus, the F-35 will not violate the airspace of Ukraine, and at the same time, even if it is detected by the radar by a Soviet fighter, it remains in the safe air zone of NATO. Thus, the F-35 becomes a visible sensor in a restricted area.

    It turns out that as far as they are technologically apart, the two fighters are as close as they are working in a joint operation. No such tests have been done so far, but the war in Ukraine has engaged many NATO military tacticians in seeking solutions to problems now emerging in wartime.

    Dutch F-35s in Poland

    It should be mentioned that despite the joint training, the two fighters are fundamentally different. First, their functionality is different. The MiG-29 is designed for air superiority, while the F-35 is a multi-role stealth fighter. The technology is so different that, according to some experts, even the most experienced MiG-29 pilot would have a hard time flying the F-35 without going through quite a long and serious training.

    Eight Royal Netherlands Air Force [RNLAF] F-35 fighters are currently deployed in Poland. They are part of the NATO operation in the region for deterrent actions in case of a possible escalation of the war in Ukraine. These planes do not stay on the ground, but almost weekly conduct various pieces of training, or daily perform missions along the border with Ukraine.

    Air operations of the Dutch F-35s are controlled by the Polish Air Operations Center in Warsaw and NATO’s Combined Air Operations Center in Wedem. According to information from various sources, some of the Dutch F-35s were on a mission to escort Russian aircraft flying near NATO areas over the Baltic Sea.

    Russia claimed for the first time that Ukraine used Hrim-2 TBM

    The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that Ukraine started using Hrim-2 tactical ballistic missiles.

    The spokesperson of the Russian Ministry said that air defense allegedly intercepted one Hrim-2 tactical missile.

    The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed the alleged neutralization of a Ukrainian tactical ballistic missile for the first time.

    “Today, one Hrim-2 tactical ballistic missile and three HIMARS missiles were intercepted, and two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in the areas of the settlements of Novoandriyivka and Zelenyi Hai,” the Russian defense ministry claimed.

    Regardless, the Russians did not present any evidence of Ukraine’s use of the Hrim-2 TBM.

    Before the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian tactical ballistic missile system was under development. This missile system is considered a powerful weapon of non-nuclear deterrence against the aggressor.

    OTRK Sapsan (export name of the Hrim-2) is being developed to defeat single and group stationary targets at ranges between 50 and 280 km.

    The onboard control system of the missile is inertial and is equipped with various types of navigation and guidance systems (radar, optical-electronic, and others).

    In 2016, it was announced that Saudi Arabia held negotiations with Ukraine to purchase Ukrainian Hrim-2 TBM and finance the R&D program.
    Hrim-2 TBM

    Two years later, the homing head test for this TBM was completed.

    In April 2019, a prototype of the tactical ballistic missile by the Pivdenne Design Office was reported ready for testing in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

    In 2022, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine should have been able to work on developing a domestic missile shield. It would primarily regard the resumption of work on the Sapsan tactical ballistic missile.

    Putin kan vanavond beginnen met terugtrekking achter de Russische grenzen van 1-1-2014...., ik vind het nog meer bezwaarlijk dat hij dat niet doet.
    Dat zou het wegstrepen van soldaten overbodig maken.

    The Ministry of Digital Transformation handed over to the Ukrainian military a batch of 300 DJI Mavic 3T unmanned aerial vehicles to be used on the battlefield.

    This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to the ministry’s press service.

    "We sent 160 copters to the east, 85 – to Zaporizhia, and another 55 – to Kherson. The drones were acquired thanks to the joint fundraising effort by monobank, Oleh Horokhovskyi, and Ihor Lachenkov for the Army of Drones project within the framework of the UNITED24 initiative. In just three days, they managed to raise almost UAH 61 million," the report says.

    It is noted that each DJI Mavic 3T is equipped with a thermal imager and a zoom camera, which allows operators to fly reconnaissance missions even during the night hours. Also, thanks to these drones, the military can spot artillery fire and destroy Russian equipment. Thus, drones allow Ukraine’s troops “to know everything about the enemy.”

    Russian President Vladimir Putin signed on Thursday a decree on the routine conscription of another 147,000 men.

    The men aged between 18 and 27 who are not in the army reserve and "are subject to conscription" will be recruited between April 1 and July 15. Putin also instructed the army to dismiss soldiers "whose term of military service has expired." Andrey Kartapolov, head of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee, stressed the new recruits will not be sent to Ukraine.

    Earlier this month, Kartapolov introduced a bill proposing to increase the age bracket for conscription to men aged 21-30 years. If passed, the law would come into effect at the beginning of 2024.
