    BioLineRx Reports Data at ASCO-SITC Conference Showing Complete Tumor Regression by AGI-134 in Pre-Clinical Studies

    AGI-134 on track to commence Phase 1/2a clinical study in H1 2018

    Tel Aviv, Israel – January 23, 2018 - BioLineRx Ltd. (NASDAQ/TASE: BLRX), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on oncology and immunology, announced today that AGI-134, an immunotherapy compound in development for the treatment of multiple solid tumors, demonstrated successful results in two pre-clinical melanoma studies. Results of these studies will be presented as a poster titled "Intratumoral Administration of the Alpha-Gal Glycolipid AGI-134 to Induce Tumor Regression in a Mouse Model of Melanoma” (Abstract 68) on January 25, 2018 at the ASCO-SITC Clinical Immuno-Oncology Symposium, being held January 25-27, 2018, in San Francisco, CA.

    The ability of intratumorally injected AGI-134 to induce regression of established primary tumors was assessed in two murine melanoma models. In the two models, there was complete tumor regression in 50% and 67%, respectively, of mice treated with AGI-134. Moreover, treatment with AGI-134 showed a beneficial effect on survival, compared to the control group. In addition, the results show that injection of AGI-134 into the tumors induces activation of the complement system, an important component of the innate immune system. Activation of the complement system within tumors by AGI-134 is predicted to destroy tumor cells and create a pro-inflammatory tumor microenvironment that attracts and activates other immune cells, ultimately resulting in adaptive anti-tumor immunity. Previous studies with intratumoral administration of AGI-134 to primary tumors had shown that AGI-134 protects mice from the development of distant, untreated tumors.

    Dank Nelis voor het delen. Zeer veelbelovend resultaat op muizen. Op naar toepassing op mensen. Nog lange weg te gaan, maar zeker 'promising'. Potentieel voor 2e big winner naast hun BL 8040 medicijn in ontwikkeling. Eens kijken hoe we hier over een jaar of 5 op terugkijken, op (nu nog voor velen obscure) BiolineRx.

    Weer een voorbeeld uit biotech markt dat geduld kan lonen. Ablynx wordt voor EUR 45 per aandeel door Sanofi overgenomen. In 2012 stond dit aandeel op ruim EUR 2. En overigens in juli 2017 nog op ca EUR 12.50. Niets is zeker op zo'n lange weg, maar als je de potentie ziet in een aantal van dit soort relatief early stage biotechs, dan is het beter voor de bloeddruk ze op de plank te leggen en over enkele jaren weer eens naar de koers te kijken. Kun je ondertussen wel inhoudelijk de vinger aan de pols houden, zonder dus alles direct aan de koers(reacties) te relateren. Ook BiolineRx koers kan nog tijdje sudderen rond huidig niveau, met paar dubeltjes erbij of eraf. Maar daarvoor ga je denk ik niet instappen in zo'n type andeel. Veel interessanter is de (koers) potentie over zeg 3,4,5 of 6 jaar. Ach, dat zijn zo mijn gedachten naar aanleiding van Ablynx case. Fijne dag.

    In het document dat Jeroen op 10 januari plaatste wat helaas niet meer op te vragen is, stond inderdaad vermeld dat 40% van de aandelen in institutionele handen is. Dat was trouwens een mooi document over de status van BiolineRX. Nu lees ik zelfs in het document dat HDL gisteren plaatste, wat volgens mij niet hetzelfde document is als het document dat Jeroen plaatste, dat inmiddels zelfs bijna 60% van de aandelen in institutionele handen is. Een jaar geleden was dit nog 20%. Weet iemand hier iets meer over? Ik las in het artikel van Jeroen dat Novartis een belang heeft/had van 12,8% en dat BiolineRX ook samenwerkt met Genentech, Merck en Roche. Dat zijn geen kleine bedrijven.

    Research and development expenses for the year ended December 31, 2017 were $19.5 million, an increase of $8.3 million, or 74.6%, compared to $11.2 million for the year ended December 31, 2016. The increase resulted primarily from higher expenses in 2017 associated with new BL-8040 clinical studies commenced during the third quarter of 2016 and during 2017, as well as spending on the Company's recently acquired AGI-134 near-clinical project.

    Sales and marketing expenses for the year ended December 31, 2017 were $1.7 million, an increase of $0.3 million, or 25.2%, compared to $1.4 million for the year ended December 31, 2016. The increase resulted primarily from one-time legal fees related to AGI-134.

    De cijfers 2017 bevestigen dat men de r&d activiteiten flink opvoert. Voor een biotech in deze relatieve early stage heel logisch. Voorlopig gaan de kosten nog voor de baat uit. Benieuwd naar de al dan niet afgesproken milestonebetalingen van de big pharma partners in 2018 en daarna. Hieronder een overzicht van de te verwachten relevante milestones in 2018. De aandelen liggen prima op de plank. Pas op zijn vroegst tweede halfjaar aardig bewegingspotentieel omhoog van de koers. Het echte werk moet m.i. pas jaren later komen. Maar in biotech kan het soms onverwacht hard gaan, vanwege onverwachte gebeurtenissen, doorbraken, partnerships. Overigens, beide kanten op.

    Expected significant upcoming milestones for 2018:

    Top-line results in immuno-oncology Phase 2a COMBAT study in pancreatic cancer for BL-8040 in combination with Merck’s KEYTRUDA, expected in H2 2018;
    Results from the lead-in stage of the Phase 3 GENESIS study in stem-cell mobilization, expected in H2 2018;
    Initiation of Phase 1b/2 immuno-oncology study for BL-8040 in combination with Genentech’s atezolizumab for non-small cell lung cancer. Partial results in Phase 1b/2 trials under collaboration with Genentech expected in H2 2018;
    Initiation of Phase 1/2a immuno-oncology study for AGI-134 in several solid tumor indications expected in mid-2018;
    Top-line results of Phase 2 study for BL-8040 in stem-cell mobilization for allogeneic transplantation expected by mid-2018.

    Toch klopt er iets niet. De pijplijn ziet er goed uit. Verder alles eigenlijk ok.
    Maar koers plakt rond de €1.
    Frustrerend.
    Ik heb gelukkig een kleine positie maar toch.
    Is het business model wel solide vraag ik me af?
    Is dit nu zon fonds waarbij je in een paar dagen tijd de koers zal zien verzevenvoudigen?

    Mooi nieuws vandaag inzake hun 2e oncologie asset. Slechts een tussenstapje, maar zeker veelbelovend.

(NASDAQ/TASE: BLRX), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on oncology and immunology, announced today that a Notice of Allowance has been issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a patent application claiming the use of AGI-134, a novel immunotherapy compound, for the treatment of solid cancer tumors.

    This patent, when issued, will be valid until May 2035 with a possibility of up to five years patent term extension. Additional corresponding patent applications for AGI-134 are pending in Europe, Japan, China, Canada, Australia and Israel.

    Ik denk ook veel ondeduldige KT belegers/traders in dit soort 1 USD aandelen. Maar goed, als LT belegger in dit type aandelen weet je dat er vaak lang, niets gebeurt, totdat nieuws opeens het potentieel ontsluit, of v.v. Blijft spannend. Voorlopig levert het nog geen substantiele c/f op, dus voor velen in de markt is het ook 'eerst zien dan geloven'.
