    Nu heb ik vrijdag een deel verkocht en vandaag de rest. Had meer op kunnen brengen, maar ja het was niet onverdienstelijk op zichzelf.

    Uitstappen voor de cijferspublicatie stond op de planning daar de cijferdag bij AM, mijn ervaring, nogal vaak een teleurstellend patroon is. Verder is er een een goede stijging achter de rug. De markten zijn kwa prognose iets voorzichtiger; er is markt breed natuurlijk wel enige wat hoogtevrees met de omstandigheden die er zijn.
    - Zelf volg ik ook meningen dat 'recessie' en gedoe wel zullen uitblijven, maar de groei klein zal zijn. Energie valt terug in prijs niveau maar is wel aanmerkelijk hoger dan voor uitbraak oorlog U/R
    - Bedrijven snijden nu vooral in kosten om de winst op peil te houden, de omzetten vallen wat terug of stijgen i.i.g. niet meer hard.
    - Fundamenteel voor zover ik dat in detail bekijk (grote stappen snel thuis) vind ik AM ondergewaardeerd, maar er zit een soort korting in de koers, namelijk dat de voorspelbaarheid zeg jaar+ nogal laag is. Op zeer hoge winsten kunnen zo lage winsten volgen; de economische omstandigheden zeker voor AM blijven nog wat uitdagend/ongewis. Bij AM is dat dan altijd maar weer in het kwadraad voor wat betreft de beweging (hoge Beta).

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Op Wall Street zijn maandag drie van de acht AEX-genoteerde fondsen ten opzichte van het slot in Amsterdam hoger gesloten. Unilever was met een winst van 0,6 procent de sterkste stijger. ASML was met een verlies van 0,6 procent de sterkste daler.

    Boston United States based company developing Molten Oxide Electrolysis based technology to fully decarbonize steel production Boston Metal has welcomed ArcelorMittal’s Ms Irina Gorbounova and OGCI Climate Investments’ Mr Rick Cutright to its board of directors. The seasoned venture capitalists have joined following the first close of our Series C funding round, led by ArcelorMittal’s XCarb Innovation Fund.

    As head of ArcelorMittal’s XCarb Innovation Fund, Ms Irina Gorbounova will bring her expertise in accelerating the progress of steel decarbonization technologies to our board, along with her experience in mergers and acquisitions.

    Mr Rick Cutright is the technology director at OGCI Climate Investments, a firm that invests in innovations, technologies, and projects that are decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors like steel. He joins our board of directors after serving as a board observer since 2019.

    Guardini Launches XBake PFAS Free Pans Using ArcelorMittal XCarb

    A new range of bakeware with a reduced environmental impact has been launched at Ambiente in Frankfurt by market leader Guardini, together with partners ArcelorMittal, coated steel manufacturer Cooper Coated Coil and coatings manufacturer ILAG. The result of the four-way partnership and a three-year development process is XBake, a range of sustainable bakeware that is sourced with ArcelorMittal’s XCarb green steel certificates, and made with an innovative polyfluoroalkyl substances PFAS free, non -stick coating that was developed by ILAG and is applied to steel coils by Cooper Coated Coil. The result is XBake, a range of sustainable bakeware with a brand-new, non-stick coating that is free of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances.

    Guardini was prompted to start the project to reduce their products’ environmental impact when customers started asking about the level of recycled content in the company’s bakeware. Although Guardini actively recycles the unused steel from its processes, the company’s management realised it was impossible to quantify the level of recycled content in the new steel it purchased.

    For the PFAS-free, non-stick coating, Guardini wanted to offer their customers a solution ahead of the potential PFAS restrictions in the EU and the US. Both the European Union and the USA are taking steps to consider a ban of these PFAS chemicals in various consumer applications, including bakeware and cookware. Guardini turned to Swiss-based producer of coatings ILAG to develop a completely new coating.

    Applying and testing the new coating to steel coils was the job of CCC, Guardini’s regular supplier of coated steels - which was a technical challenge. Today CCC buys the coils from ArcelorMittal with accompanying XCarb green steel certificates. The coils are then coated with the PFAS-free non-stick coating before they are sold to Guardini. CCC passes the certificates to Guardini with the coil.

    In addition to the reduced CO2 emissions and PFAS-free coating, the bakeware packaging is strictly FSC certified, and the production of the baking moulds 100% made in Italy and comes from an Italian and European supply chain.

    Ik lees niet alles, sterker een heleboel niet, Voda, maar fijn dat je het verzameld. Pluimpje erbij!

    Overmorgen de cijfers, heb geen positie nu, komt wel weer na de cijfers. Altijd geklooi rond publicatie tijd. En meestal is het zo dat als de cijfers (relatief) goed zijn (boven verwachting) er andere nieuwsitems zijn die roet in het eten gooien….daar heeft AM een patent op :-)

    Ik vermoed dat de analisten naar de schuldpositie gaan kijken en die kan wel eens positief verrassen, iedereen weet ondertussen dat dit een veel minder kwartaal qua ebitda en netto(winst/verlies) zal zijn, ze zullen naar de cashflow kijken en door de cijfers heen kijken naar de volgende kwartalen die komen, dieptepunt qua staalprijs hebben we vorig kwartaal bereikt.

    Arcelor heeft kort geleden zijn aandeel in Erdemir verkleint waardoor hij waarschijnlijk minder blootstelling aan de gevolgen ondervindt.
    US steel - 7%
    Steel dynamic. - 3,6%
    Cliff’s - 4%
    US steel reageert zoals altijd heftiger dan de rest.
    Arcelor ontspringt dit keer de dans (voorlopig) tot de cijfers.

    Steel stocks closed mostly lower Tuesday after Citi analyst Alex Hacking told the Tampa Steel Conference that he expects a weaker steel market in this year's second half, Bloomberg reported.

    Automotive demand will improve in 2023 from last year, but Hacking said weaker construction, slower manufacturing and reduced demand for appliances will pull down the rest of the steel market, also forecasting hot-rolled coil prices of $650-$800/ton for 2023
