ChatGPT vs GitHub vs Cariad/VW We will soon add support for ChatGPT, enabling customers to use it in their own applications for the first time. And yesterday, we announced the completion of the next phase of our agreement with OpenAI. We are pleased to be their exclusive cloud provider, and we'll deploy their models across our consumer and enterprise products as we continue to push the state-of-the-art in AI. All of this innovation is driving growth across our Azure AI services. Azure ML revenue alone has increased more than 100% for five quarters in a row with companies like AXA, FedEx, and H&R Block choosing the service to deploy, manage and govern their models. Now, on to developers. Modernizing applications is mission-critical to any company's operations today. And with GitHub, Visual Studio, and Azure Pass services, we have the most comprehensive portfolio of tools to help. GitHub is now home to 100 million developers and GitHub Copilot is the first at-scale AI product built for this era, fundamentally transforming developer productivity. More than 1 million people have used Copilot to date. This quarter, we brought Copilot to businesses, and we have seen strong interest and early adoption from companies, including Duolingo, Lemonade, and Volkswagen CARIAD Software Group.
Stellantis expects to have 34 million connected vehicles among its 14 brands by 2030. By leveraging data from those vehicles, Mobilisights will have exclusive access and rights to license vehicle and related data from all Stellantis brands to external customers. With more than 12 million connected vehicles on the road worldwide, Stellantis has access to a mountain of data and it is creating a new business unit, dubbed Mobilisights, to create new services for customers and revenue for the automaker.

Tomtom Selects Jedox for Core Planning and Performance Solutionwww.geospatialworld.net/news/tomtom-j...
www.eenewseurope.com/en/who-is-in-the... The European space stock index launched today as a virtual tracker of European space-based tech companies that are currently listed on a stock market. The index was developed in a partnership between the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Commission and Euronext, which operates regulated exchanges in Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and Portugal, and aims to allow investors and people working in finance to monitor the financial performance of European space companies. ESA and the commission worked with Promus Ventures in a dedicated expert group to analyse, monitor and identify companies involved within the Space sector. The index includes key European semiconductor companies such as lithography equipment maker ASML and chip makers STMicroelectronics, Infineon Technologies and Nordic Semiconductor, as well as startups such as Arqit Quantum, Kleos Space and AAC Clyde Space and of course multinationals such as Thales, Airbus and BAe Systems as well as Meggit, Ultra Electronics and Rolls Royce. End-users, such as purely telecommunications providers (e.g. orange/SFR) are excluded from the index. But companies for which at least 90% of their business is dependent on space capabilities (e.g. TomTom ) are included.
Huawei rapidly accelerated the investments in its own software, as the long-term goal was to develop alternatives to Google’s solutions and therefore provide customers with applications similar to the ones offered by the search giant as part of its operating system. When it comes to mapping solutions, Huawei’s big bet was Petal Maps. Launched in October 2020 and based on TomTom maps, Huawei’s map service was developed from the very beginning to come with the essential capabilities that you can also find in Google Maps, including satellite imagery, turn-by-turn navigation, and several modes of transportation. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how Huawei rapidly managed to build a solid Google Maps alternative. The partnership with TomTom, for example, allowed the Chinese firm to get quick access to accurate map and traffic data, which eventually provided Petal Maps with the necessary capabilities to generate spot-on ETAs and better routes for navigation. Since its debut approximately two years ago, Petal Maps has been evolving at an impressive pace. The application is now available in over 160 countries and regions, and it provides nearly all the capabilities that you’d normally expect to find in a top-notch navigation solution. The feature lineup includes everything from real-time traffic data and offline map support to support for reporting road closures and speed traps and lane assistance. But the one that really makes Petal Maps a navigation app that is worth a try is the overall experience with the app. I’ve been using Petal Maps for the past week, and after relying on its navigation for both short and long drives, I can truly say this is one of the best alternatives to Google Maps today. First and foremost, the thing I like the most about Petal Maps is the lane assistance. In complex intersections, Petal Maps automatically zooms in and shows precisely which way you need to go and what lane you must use for the recommended direction. While both Google Maps and Waze show such information, Petal Maps displays an animation on the screen to clearly mark the lane that drivers must use to follow the indicated route. Everything on the screen is displayed in a very clean UI, but on the other hand, I do admit that I initially found the interface a little bit cluttered. There’s a learning curve, that’s true, but once you figure out what everything on the navigation screen is supposed to do, it’s all just a matter of time until you get used to it. Petal Maps displays the essential information on the main screen, including the current speed and the next turn, but at the same time, you can always access the route options with just a tap using a dedicated icon in the navigation interface. This is where Petal Maps probably needs a little bit more polishing. Certain options don’t always have to be on the main navigation screen, as the focus should be entirely on the map and the directions that drivers need to use. Options like searching for POIs and everything else should just be moved under a different menu, especially given users are less likely to access them on a regular basis. At the end of the day, leaving aside the controversy that Huawei has long been involved in, Petal Maps is definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a Google Maps replacement. It has not only the essential navigation package but also a lot of extras that will make driving to a new destination not only faster but also a lot more convenient.

Huawei — the controversial Chinese electronics manufacturer that was at the heart of several cyber security breaches and espionage accusations — is set to rake in cash from automakers seeking to license its technology. Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Subaru, Renault, Lamborghini, and Bentley have all reportedly signed deals with Huawei for tech patents. Huawei estimates its technology will now be present in 15 million of the 70 million cars produced globally.www.carscoops.com/2022/12/huawei-tech...
In China, Seres has a deal with Huawei, which provides the HarmonyOS software for vehicles and extra services such as HiCar and even drivetrain and sound tuning. In Europe however, HarmonyOS will be replaced by Android Auto and that's what the Seres 5 was running at Brussels' auto show last week. Perhaps it's not that big of a surprise since HarmonyOS has limited functionality and poor integration with devices sold in Western markets as well as services.www.arenaev.com/seres_drops_huaweis_h...

Despite what this year will sound like, the autonomy industry is not dead, but it’s definitely not yet a butterfly. There’s a group of people laying the groundwork to build real, value-driven businesses (that just happen to use robots). These companies won't have the luxury to build everything in-house but, instead, have the opportunity to stay close to their customers and thus build products the market really wants. That’s where we’ll start seeing true adoption in the industry. As these businesses grow, we’ll get to see what’s in store for the future of autonomy. I truly am excited to see as things evolve over the next 12 months and as the autonomy butterfly emerges to be a more value-driven, results-based industry.www.forbes.com/sites/stefanseltz-axma...
