    Optio3 Bring Microsoft Azure Cloud en Maps Azure op commercieel vervoer Vloten

    Optio3 kondigde een geïntegreerde Microsoft Azure ivd en Optio3 operaties op afstand bewaken oplossing voor commercieel vervoer, motor coach en doorvoer vloten. Optio3 gebruikt al Azure Maps en Azure Cloud en is op zoek naar het gebruik van de Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform. De initiële focus ligt op het bedienen van de aftermarket tractor, aanhangwagen, vrachtwagen, bus, bestelwagen en touringcar markt van de bestaande vloot voertuigen. Deze samenwerking is de natuurlijke uitbreiding van Microsoft en Optio3 toetreding tot de Smart Transportation Raad, waarvan de missie is om de activiteiten remote operations management productontwikkeling orkestreren over OEM's, om open standaarden te pleiten, en om hulp te OEM's leveren gestroomlijnd en meer krachtige oplossingen aan de vloot eigenaren en exploitanten tegen een lagere total cost of ownership.

    “MCVP combineert meer dan veertig Microsoft Azure Services in een eenvoudig en gemakkelijk naar het platform, die helpt bij het Rapid Application Development voor verschillende use cases om unlock gegevens in ivd voor de Automotive / Transport segment gebruiken,” zei Sri Chandrashekar , CEO en co- oprichter van Optio3. “Optio3 is enthousiast om te combineren Microsoft Azure Maps, Azure Cloud en MCVP, deel uitmaken van de Azure ecosysteem, en oplossingen voor onze klanten.”

    Tara Prakriya , General Manager, Azure ivd Mobiliteit en Connected Vehicles, Microsoft Corp. zei: “Microsoft wordt vaak benaderd door grote commerciële vervoer vloten met betrekking tot gebruik te maken van Microsoft Azure Cloud, Maps Azure en Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform (MCVP) voor hun bestaande voertuigen .     BRUSSELS — Fiat Chrysler's chief executive Michael Manley said on Wednesday that merger talks with Peugeot owner PSA to create the world's No. 4 carmaker are progressing well and he hopes to have a deal within 12-14 months.

    Speaking to Reuters on the sidelines of an industry meeting, he said he doesn't expect any major obstacles that could delay a final agreement.

    "Talks are progressing really well," Manley said about negotiations with the French carmaker ahead of a briefing by the European automotive association (ACEA), of which he is president.

    His comments come a month after the two carmakers agreed to a binding deal worth about $50 billion to combine forces in response to a slowdown in global demand and mounting costs of making cleaner vehicles amid tighter emissions regulations

    De Amerikaanse onderdelenfabrikant Borgwarner is van plan om concurrent Delphi Technologies over te nemen. Dat melden diverse internationale media, waaronder Bloomberg. Beide bedrijven zouden in onderhandeling zijn, maar willen vooralsnog niet officieel reageren.

    Borgwarner en Delphi hebben beide geïnvesteerd in nieuwe technologie en onderdelen voor bijvoorbeeld elektrische en hybride auto's. Ze zijn beide belangrijk toeleveranciers, onder andere met motoren- en transmissie-onderdelen. Delphi, gevestigd in het VK, behoorde tot 1998 bij autofabrikant General Motors.

    Delphi ging eerder dit jaar een samenwerking aan met het Nederlandse Tomtom voor de ontwikkeling van voorspellende aandrijflijnen.

    DETROIT – BorgWarner on Tuesday announced it will acquire fellow auto supplier Delphi Technologies in an all-stock transaction that values Delphi at about $3.3 billion.

    Shares of London-based Delphi, which was spun-off from General Motors roughly two decades ago, skyrocketed more than 62% in morning trading Tuesday to nearly $16 a share. Shares of Auburn Hills, Mich.-based BorgWarner were down about 7% to roughly $35.50.

    The two major auto suppliers have entered into a definitive transaction agreement that has been approved by the boards of directors of both companies. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2020, according to the companies.

    Under the deal, Delphi stockholders will receive a fixed exchange ratio of 0.4534 share of BorgWarner common stock per Delphi share. Current BorgWarner stockholders will own about 84% of the combined company, while current Delphi Technologies stockholders are expected to own 16%.

    The combined $14.5 billion company will be led by BorgWarner President and CEO Frederic Lissalde and BorgWarner CFO Kevin Nowlan, and will operate as BorgWarner. The combined company will be headquartered in Auburn Hills, Mich.

    “Delphi Technologies will bring proven leading power electronics technologies, talent and scale that will complement our hybrid and electric vehicle propulsion offerings,” Lissalde said in a release. “As a combined company, we look forward to delivering enhanced solutions to our customers while driving increased value for our stockholders.”

Prior to joining TomTom in 2006, Reelitz worked in roles at Pirelli, Dunlop and BorgWarner that spanned engineering, programme management, marketing and sales.

    We hebben 4 jaar gebouwd aan ons transactionel system ( platform ) en het heeft heel veel geld gekost.

    Google, weet niet of die het hebben kan niet in de keuken kijken.
    Here heeft het niet.

    Je hebt dat platform nodig, want anders moet je ouderwets met badges werken, het platform is nodig om in de toekomst te blijven meedoen.

    Starts up zijn meer one trick ponies.
    Kiezen 1 onderdeel uit en kunnen daar goed in zijn, want meer centen hebben ze niet.

    Door automation ( platform ) kunnen we betere maps sneller en verser maken voor lagere kosten.

    Kosten per modification zijn 90% lager en we maken 100% meer modifications.

    Dus voor het zelfde geld maken we 10 keer meer modifications.

    Natuurlijk zoek ik ook op internet naar informatie.

    Maar ik neem ook alle informatie van de RVB van Tom Tom tot me, want soms heb je er niets aan, maar soms zitten er krenten bij :-)

    Waarom denk je dat Microsoft Here heeft ingeruild voor Tom Tom.

    Let me get back to the subject, I promised to explain a little bit more what is transactional mapmaking system and why is it unique. Most map makers in the past and most map makers today produce maps in a batch system. What that means is you take a map, you store it in a map database, you make all kinds of edits in that map database and then once every month or once every week or once every quarter you basically make a release of that map database. So you have stored all those edits and in the release process, you quality check all the edits you have made. And that is done in a batch process. There is fallout. You correct the fallout and you go back to the release process and at the end of the day, you release your map once a week or once a month or once every quarter. That's the traditional way of doing things in mapmaking. The transactional mapmaking system works differently. What happens in the transactional mapmaking system, is that any change in reality can be taken through the whole process, including the quality checks and immediately be available as an update of the map to the application, which means that your database is actually continuously releasable and what that means is that with every change of your database, you create a new release. And it happens continuously, so you don't have to wait for a week or a month or quarter. It happens continuously and your applications can immediately use the freshest information that is in your database. That's quite a difficult system to make and we were very successful doing so. As I said, we introduced it in 2016 and I will show you what the results of that introduction are and what that did to our database and to our productivity. Automation delivers better maps faster, and at a lower cost Here's what we have today and it is again a staggering number, but we broke the record in August with 2.35 billion modifications in our database in one month. That's an enormous amount of modifications in our database. 85% of those modifications were automated. So 85% of those modifications went into the database in an automated way as a result of what we sometimes call fusion. Fusion is actually nothing more than combining all different sources, that can be probe data,

    that can be aerial pictures, that can be images and lidar data from our moma van, and fusing those to create transactions that in itself have multiple modifications that are applied to the database. Now in 2016, we were at the level of 250 million. Roughly. We are now at the level of 2.35 billion, which is almost tenfold. And what happened with the costs, because that's even more important. In the same period, we lowered the cost by a factor ten, which means that with the same amount of money compared to 2016, we can do ten times more upgrades of our database; ten times more modifications in our database, which is kind of a fantastic result and the foundation of that is our transactional system and a much higher level of automation, driven by the usage of machine learning.

    Omzet automotive Here is nog veel groter dan bij TT, maar dasss bijna allemaal SD maps.

    Maar met het platform en nu ADAS en dadelijk HD maps, gaat er veel veranderen.

    buiten de door jou genoemde relatie met TT is er toch ook een hele grote recente relatie.
    Info is herhalen van oude gegevens maar wel leuk om te lezen!
