Navy granted an extension of the deadline by which commercial operations are to be achieved at the Groton Project from September 30, 2022 to November 30, 2022. The Groton Project has achieved operations at approximately 6.0 MW and has passed a U.S. Navy-required seven-day performance test and is therefore operating at the level at which the Company has proposed commencing commercial operations. Nevertheless, the Company requires the approval of both CMEEC and the U.S. Navy in order to commence commercial operations at the reduced output. Although discussions are progressing, no assurance can be given that CMEEC and the U.S. Navy will provide such final approval to commence commercial operations at 6.0 MW.
@Petex ik denk dat de gesprekken nog even voortduren. De proef is verlengd tot 30 November en er moet van 2 partijen akkoord komen voor verdere commercialisering. Nb LT in FuelCell sinds eind 2021. Hoewel de koers enorm volatiel is is de trend wel naar beneden. Vandaag ook weer bijna 9%. Toch plukje bijgekocht want heb vertrouwen in de lange termijn.

Info over Groton Project:
investor.fce.com/press-releases/press... Lijkt me in ieder geval weer positief. Toestemming was afwachten en weliswaar op beperktere capaciteit, maar weer een stapje voorwaarts.
Toyota Port Facility Nears Carbon Neutrality The Trigeneration (Trigen) Direct Fuel Cell Power Plant will supply the hydrogen to the fueling stations. Bio-gas sourced from agricultural waste will produce high quality, 100% renewable hydrogen fuel for PORTAL Heavy-Duty Truck (HDT) and Mirai. At full utilization, Trigen is expected to produce 1.2 tons of renewable hydrogen daily, capable of supporting 10,000 Mirai processed by the port annually, and a fleet of 20 or more Class 8 fuel cell electric trucks operating drayage routes. The elimination of diesel trucks from port operations is expected to result in an annual reduction of over 5,800 MT CO2e and 4.9 tons of NOx, while reducing diesel consumption by over 420,000 gallons per year, resulting in a significant positive environmental impact. Trigen will also generate renewable electricity to power Toyota’s onsite logistics operations, which will make TLS Long Beach the first Toyota port operations in the world to use 100% renewable electricity from onsite generation. The Trigen powerplant is sized at 2.3 MW (2,300 kW), which should produce roughly 1,700 kW of renewable, zero carbon electricity more than what we need. Toyota plans to provide this surplus to the local community, which should be enough to power almost 2,500 homes within West Long Beach and Wilmington annually. The generated electricity’s zero carbon renewable attributes are validated by the California Public Utilities Commission’s BioMat Tariff. Additionally, Trigen will generate water to supplement municipal water for the onsite carwash – an important element, given the port’s location in an area of high water stress. Translated into action, Trigen will be used by TLS to fuel imported Mirais with 100% renewable fuel. Those transported to dealers using fuel cell trucks will be fueled by 100% renewable fuel and have zero emissions, delivering to customers in a sustainable way.youtu.be/3-BXz_1xYvs

FuelCell Energy, Inc. January 2023 Investor Presentation Appendix "Total Addressable Market Climate initiatives are driving the global push to reduce greenhouse gases, including CO2, nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides. The Company believes there exists a large and increasing combined total addressable market (“TAM”) opportunity for the solutions the Company has commercially available today and the solutions that the Company is actively developing for commercialization, which are focused on addressing global climate change, air quality, emissions, and the need for resilient and reliable power. Through the unique capabilities of our platforms, we can isolate and remove CO2 from exhaust streams, provide distributed hydrogen cost effectively to further advance the transportation industry’s shift to hydrogen powered vehicles, and provide industrial and utility customers with a secure and local supply of hydrogen. Hydrogen is also an effective medium for the storage of energy, and we are in the process of commercializing a highly efficient and environmentally favorable hydrogen- based long-duration energy storage solution. We believe hydrogen-based storage is environmentally superior to a mineral-based storage solution such as lithium-ion batteries. Additionally, through the deployment of our megawatt and sub-megawatt platform solutions, we can deliver the benefits of clean distributed power generation, including the desirable value stream of thermal energy, and avoid the need for massive, long distance transmission infrastructure and the risks that the traditional transmission grid creates. The Company views TAM as the overall revenue opportunity that is available for a product or solution if 100% market share is achieved. We believe that the combined value of our TAM opportunity based on third party sources and application of management’s current assumptions is approximately $2 trillion cumulatively from the date hereof through the end of calendar year 2030 (the “Measuring Period”). This cumulative number represents the combined estimated total market size over the Measuring Period and is not a projection or estimate of the actual market share that the Company could achieve or the amount of revenue that could be generated in these markets in the Measuring Period. The four primary solutions which the Company views as serving its combined, cumulative $2 trillion TAM opportunity are: (i) Carbon capture, carbon separation and utilization (approximately $1 trillion). Carbon capture technology is currently under development by the Company to serve this market, while the Company currently has carbon separation and utilization solutions. The Company’s ability to participate in the carbon capture market also assumes that ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Company (“EMRE”), which funds some of the Company’s research into carbon capture and which owns certain intellectual property rights related to the Company’s carbon capture technology, will provide the Company with the necessary licenses or will otherwise allow the Company to exploit carbon capture technology outside of capturing carbon generated by the Company’s own platforms (for which the Company does not require a license from EMRE) (ii) Distributed hydrogen (approximately $400 billion). The Company currently has a distributed hydrogen solution to serve this market. (iii) Megawatt and sub-megawatt in front of the meter and behind the meter distributed power (approximately $300 billion). The Company currently has solutions to serve this market. (iv) Solid oxide based long-duration hydrogen energy storage and electrolysis (approximately $150 billion). Solid oxide based long-duration hydrogen energy storage and electrolysis is currently under development by the Company to serve this market." Learning More About CO2 Recapturing Technology with Lindsey Cole at FuelCell Energy There is a lot of talk about CO2 shortages these days and brewers are thinking about next steps, the supply chain, or adding equipment to their breweries that can help mitigate shortfalls. Beer Edge editor John Holl spoke with Lindsey Cole, who directs Food and Beverage solutions at FuelCell Energy, a company that manufacturers equipment that can recycle CO2 about the technology, and benefits. John Holl: A lot of brewers might be familiar with the term CO2 capturing, but not necessarily know how the machines work or their benefit. Can you give us a view from 30k feet on the machines and why breweries should be considering them for their brewhouse? Lindsey Cole: Fuel cell power plants let breweries produce clean power and recycle CO2 into a valuable product. FuelCell Energy’s carbonate fuel cell power plants can run on natural gas or biogas to produce electricity, heat, water, and CO2. Food and beverage manufacturers around the world have used fuel cell plants, but some breweries have even “harnessed beer power” by fueling their power plants with a waste byproduct of their brewing process—using a combination of natural gas and anaerobic digester gas (ADG). Fuel cells use an electrochemical process to convert hydrogen-rich fuels into electrical power and heat. Inside the fuel cell, methane is steam-reformed at 600 degrees Celsius and converted into hydrogen and CO2. The fuel cell produces electricity, heat, water, and CO2, which can be exhausted or captured to be recycled into a valuable end-product. Fossil fuel emissions from industrial plants contain concentrations of CO2. When delivering those exhaust streams into the fuel cell’s air intake (cathode), the CO2 is electrochemically pumped to the fuel electrodes (anode). This increases the concentration of CO2 available to be recycled for industrial use. John Holl: Are these machines best suited for a brewery of a certain size? if so what’s the threshold? Lindsey Cole: An ideal “fit” for a fuel cell in this application is usually determined by a minimum appetite of 1.4 MW of power and 10 tons of CO2 needed per day. Typically, those thresholds are ideal for mid-sized and large-scale breweries, but we encourage everyone to approach us for partnerships. In some instances, a cluster of micro-breweries or small businesses cooperating locally could make the project viable. Our fuel cell plants can be configured as microgrids, supplying power to the grid during normal operation and islanding to provide power in the event of a disturbance. One of our fuel cell microgrids in Woodbridge, Connecticut provides power to a local high school and other nearby buildings. During power outages, the fuel cell switches to microgrid mode to provide reliable and uninterrupted power to seven critical town facilities. John Holl: How would you rate the current state of co2 supplies in America and where do you see them heading? Lindsey Cole: Early in the pandemic, the CO2 shortage was felt throughout the food supply chain, even forcing some breweries to shut down in the United States. CO2 can be captured as a byproduct of ethanol and fertilizer production. The supply of CO2 may shrink whenever ethanol and fertilizer production. The supply of CO2 may shrink whenever ethanol and fertilizer plants lower production capacity, which has been a trend for the past few years. We have an optimistic vision of the future of the CO2 supply chain, where it will be increasingly available as a byproduct of fuel cell applications. John Holl: What are the long-term benefits to CO2 recapturing machines? Is there any noticeable flavor benefit to using recaptured CO2? Lindsey Cole: Increasing a site’s energy resilience is an immediate benefit that will continue to produce long-term results. Fuel cells produce reliable onsite power and let breweries maximize production uptime by avoiding costly outages. For brewery’s looking to achieve sustainability goals, the fuel cell’s chemical reaction is virtually free of NOx, SOx, and particulate matter emissions. Forward thinking breweries can generate a reliable CO2 supply on-site and avoid unexpected price spikes and disruptions by moving to fuel cell technology. By bringing the production of CO2 in-house, breweries can reduce the continued cost of a raw production material. In some cases, large-scale breweries might even sell their excess CO2.
