    De uitslag van het kemphanen gevecht tussen de VS en China wordt op dit moment hartelijk verwelkomd op de Beurzen. De AEX en de DAX futs gaan er als een haas van door... Belooft een mooie handelsdag te worden op het Damrak als dit zo doorgaat...

    De AEX fut tikt op dit moment de 567 punten aan. Straks bij het ochtendgloren even bezien of het stand heeft gehouden...

    Government Signs Off on $5.4bn Cross River Rail

    A multi-billion dollar construction contract has officially been signed for Brisbane’s Cross River Rail, guaranteeing the delivery of the south east Queensland major infrastructure project.

    Pulse Consortium signed the contract with the Queensland government in an agreement that will deliver tunnelling works, the project’s new underground stations and ongoing maintenance for the infrastructure project.

    The Pulse Consortium, selected as the preferred proponents in April, is made up of ASX-listed CIMIC Group, Pacific Partnerships, CPB Contractors, and UGL with international partners including DIF, BAM, and Ghella Investments & Partnerships.

    Major construction will kick off later this year as scheduled, beginning with the demolition of the Roma Street Transit Centre.

    CIMIC Group chief executive Michael Wright said they would use an integrated approach on the $5.4 billion project.

    “We will finance, design, construct and maintain the new tunnels and rail stations, in partnership with the state government,” Wright said.

    The new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, includes 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under Brisbane River and CBD.

    The engineering giant, CIMIC Group, announced it will see approximately $2.73 billion in revenue from the project.

    “CIMIC Group has led the development of the project’s proposal, with lead sponsor Pacific Partnerships providing 49 per cent of the equity finance, with the remaining 51 per cent to be provided by DIF, BAM PPP PGGM and Ghella Investments & Partnerships.”

    CPB Contractors will deliver the design and construction in a joint venture with Ghella, BAM International and UGL.

    UGL will also provide maintenance services on the project across 24 years.

    Queensland Deputy premier Jackie Trad described the move to lock in the companies as a “key milestone”.

    “Our commitment to this project will see tunnelling construction kick off next year too,” Trad said.

    By 2036, state government anticipates south east Queensland will be home to nearly five million people.

    Currently, Brisbane’s network includes a single rail river crossing with all lines running through the same four city centre stations.

    Trad said the infrastructure project will “unlock this bottleneck”.

    Plans for Cross River Rail include the delivery of four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street, with upgrades to Dutton Park and Exhibition stations.

    The project is forecast to create 7,700 jobs during construction and with plans to be in operation by 2024.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Bouwbedrijf BAM is als onderdeel van het Pulse-consortium geselecteerd als voorkeursaanbieder voor de bouw van een metrotunnel met vier metrostations in Brisbane. Dit maakte de bouwer donderdag bekend.
    De aanleg van een tien kilometer lange spoorverbinding met een tunnel onder de rivier en het zakencentrum van de stad kost in totaal 3,4 miljard euro. BAM International is verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerp en de bouw, in een joint venture met CPB Contractors en Ghella Pty. De opdracht heeft voor BAM een bouwvolume van 100 miljoen euro per jaar voor een periode van vijf jaar.
    Verdere financiële details worden gegeven nadat de opdracht definitief is, zei een woordvoerder van BAM donderdag tegen ABM Financial News.
    BAM PPP PGGM zal samen met Pacific Partnerships, Ghella Investments and Partnerships en DIF het vermogen verstrekken voor het project.

    Hemel Hempstead, 1 July 2019 - BAM Construct UK has reported increased profits and consistent turnover for 2018. The company has seven operating companies in the construction sector, plus separate businesses for plant hire, services engineering, facilities management, property development and design. By combining these services the company is able comprehensively to deliver any project in the built environment.

    BAM recorded turnover of £949.8 million (down slightly by 0.3% on 2017) with profit before tax and exceptional items of £27.0 million, which is a margin of 2.8% (2017: 1.5% restated). The company reported a strong order book of £1.76 billion and no debt, with £83 million cash reserves.

    James Wimpenny, Chief Executive of BAM Construct UK, said: ‘Our customers appreciate the consistent performance we deliver, both in our operations and in our balance sheet. Our increased profitability reflects our business reducing risk by selective tendering and working smarter. Ultimately this consistency benefits both us and our clients in a sector which has experienced recent instability. We are assisted by having a good balance of work between the private sector (58%) and public sectors (42%) and 65% of our work is repeat business, as clients that we have worked with before re-engage us. That is something I believe shows that our collaborative culture is one that our clients appreciate adds value to their projects. I am also pleased with progress at our growing FM business.’

    Mr Wimpenny said that the consistent performance of the business is both a reason to seek further growth, and a good platform for it. ‘We cannot earn enough from construction alone to provide the investment we need in our people and the technology they need for the future. We have therefore embarked on feasibility studies for potential work streams that would generate higher levels of profit to enable growth. There will be no sudden moves. Entry to new markets will be carefully planned with assistance from experts both inside and outside the Group.’

    Despite very little change in turnover, BAM was nevertheless able to reduce its carbon emissions (tCO2e) by 13% to an all-time low of 11,488 tonnes. The company has 2,549 employees. It completed 33 construction schemes in 2018 and secured 39 more.

    BAM’s parent, Royal BAM Group, is 150 years old this year. The UK business started operating in 1874 and its record includes early iconic schemes such as the Tate Gallery, the Natural History Museum, and Park Lane Hotel. It has built over 300 hospitals across the country.

    'AEX begint hoger aan nieuwe beursmaand'

    AMSTERDAM (AFN) - De Amsterdamse aandelenbeurs lijkt maandag hoger te beginnen aan de nieuwe beursmaand. Ook de andere Europese beurzen zullen waarschijnlijk met winst openen. De hervatting van de handelsgesprekken tussen de economische grootmachten de Verenigde Staten en China zorgt voor opluchting onder beleggers.

    De Amerikaanse president Donald Trump liet na zijn gesprek met de Chinese leider Xi Jinping op de G20-top in het Japanse Osaka weten dat de gesprekken weer op schema liggen. Trump beloofde geen nieuwe importtarieven op Chinese producten meer in te voeren. Ook hief de Amerikaanse president de blokkade van de Chinese telecomreus Huawei voorlopig op.

    Aan het oliefront komen de leden van oliekartel OPEC en samenwerkende landen waaronder Rusland maandag en dinsdag bij elkaar in Wenen. Volgens de Saudische energieminister Khalid al-Falih zullen ze daar waarschijnlijk hun bestaande productiebeperkingen voor de oliewinning met negen maanden verlengen tot maart 2020. Ook Rusland is voor een verlenging van de huidige afspraken.

    Antwerp, 28 June 2019 - Oiltanking Antwerp Gas Terminal (OTAGT) awards Engicon NV (Geldof) and BAM Contractors nv (BAM) an EPC contract for the construction of a fully refrigerated 135.000 cbm storage tank in the port of Antwerp.

    Oiltanking Antwerp Gas Terminal is a long-term integrated logistics partner of Borealis, the latter being a provider of innovative solutions in the fields of polyolefin, base chemicals and fertilizers. In light of Borealis’ new Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) plant, a fully refrigerated 135,000 cbm tank will be constructed on OTAGT’s premises. OTAGT has awarded Geldof - in consortium with BAM - the EPC contract for the construction of this tank.

    More specifically, it concerns the construction of a double containment fully refrigerated storage tank, implying that the gap between the inner and outer tank is sealed. The propane which will be stored inside the inner carbon steel tank (resisting extremely cold temperatures), is protected from external elements such as fire, explosions and atmospheric impacts by the second wall which is also impermeable to liquids and vapors. With a net working capacity of 135.000 cbm and a maximum liquid capacity of 145.000 cbm, this propane tank will be one of the largest in Europe.

    Geldof and BAM are responsible for the supervision and execution of the EPC project of the tank, from the beginning to the end. A good balance between price and positive references, combined with a good professional relationship, led Oiltanking Antwerp Gas Terminal to engage Geldof in this project. Both Geldof and BAM have comparable references and have worked together on successful projects, ensuring the necessary know-how and expertise for this multidisciplinary project. Since activities on site already took off one day after signing the contract, we are off to a great start! Finalization of the project is foreseen end of 2021.
