PRAXISforum Big Data Analytics in Process Industry
    Huub Rutten, Sopheon
Big Data Analytics practically embedded in Innovation Management

Managing Innovation is a form of “rethinking” your company’s future, short term, long term, and takes into account the surrounding dynamic world continuously. Big Data Analytics is a natural component of Innovation Management practices in all industries, also in the Chemical Sector. Many very dynamic economic trends, like for instance of the price of crude oil, determine in the end the outcome of investments. In many cases negatively.
The Lecture will describe typical Innovation management practice in the Chemical Industry and illustrate with concrete best practice examples how the enormous mass of external and internal data sources can be used intelligently to help minimize the risks of each single investment in new products, technologies or processes, and to be as alert as possible in agile adaptation to new circumstances. In fact, “without a lot of work”. How to juggle the world’s predictions?
The audience will be engaged actively in this Lecture.

Sopheon plc (AIM:SPE) is predicted to shrink its earnings per share by an unfavourable double-digit of -26.38% over the next three years. Presently, with an EPS of $0.612, we can expect an upcoming EPS of $0.451. I am going to look at the latest data on SPE to assess whether this adverse expected growth is reasonable. See our latest analysis for SPE

What can we expect from SPE in the future?
There are dark clouds over Sopheon’s potential over the next couple of years. Analysts are predicting the earnings to slide down to $0.451 in the three year’s time from previous levels of around $0.612. This would be a decline of -26.38%, so it will be an interesting ride. During the same time and profit is predicted to dip from $5M to $3M in the next couple of years. Furthermore, margins look rather unappealing at the current levels of revenue and earnings.
