TOMTOM'S FLEXIBLE NAVIGATION COMPONENTS TRUSTED FOR NEXT GENERATION PEUGEOT LINE-UP

PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® to deliver connected driving experience to road users

Geneva Motor Show, 7 March 2007 TomTom (TOM2) today announced that its trusted navigation components will be rolled-out into PEUGEOT’s latest car lines. TomTom Maps, Navigation, 3D Buildings*, Traffic, Speed Cameras, Weather, Fuel, Parking and Local Search will be included in the PEUGEOT 208 and 2008, running on the car maker’s i-Cockpit® infotainment system.

The announcement follows the successful launch of the i-Cockpit® concept in the PEUGEOT 3008 and 5008, which included the same components. The PEUGEOT 3008 has been incredibly popular, with almost 100,000 vehicles sold worldwide. The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® features a multimedia system with an 8-inch touchscreen as well as a head-up instrument panel with a 12.3-inch display screen, proving the scalability of TomTom components, which work smoothly and seamlessly over both screens.

“The fantastic thing about our offering is that our navigation components work off-the-shelf, and can be easily integrated into car manufacturers’ customised infotainment systems,” said Antoine Saucier, Managing Director, TomTom Automotive. “PEUGEOT’s i-Cockpit® has proven incredibly popular since launch, so we’re delighted that we can continue to offer its drivers an incredible connected car experience.”

The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® empowers drivers with information to make smart choices. The capacitive touchscreen benefits from the latest TomTom NavKit technology, with the possibility of transferring navigation and direction indications directly onto the head-up screen. 3D buildings and landmarks* are magnified by the 12.3-inch instrument panel behind the steering wheel. The system supports voice recognition, and features the latest TomTom live services.

TOMTOM CELEBRATES MILLIONTH MERCEDES-BENZ CAR HITTING THE ROAD WITH TOMTOM TRAFFIC

Mercedes Drivers Benefit from world-class TomTom Traffic Service

Geneva Motor Show, 7 March 2017 TomTom (TOM2) today announced that its real-time TomTom Traffic information is now available in more than one million Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles. TomTom Traffic delivers highly accurate traffic information, in real-time, to drivers so they know where traffic has slowed down, why, and how to avoid it, enabling continuous rerouting when they need it the most.

The traffic service covers Mercedes-Benz vehicles purchased on three continents: Europe, North America and Africa. 500 million phones, cars and portable navigation devices provide GPS data points to help create the TomTom Traffic service, which is available in 54 countries in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.

Antoine Saucier, managing director, TomTom Automotive said: “The number of vehicles on the road network is increasing, congestion is building and travel times are lengthening. TomTom’s real-time Traffic information helps drivers to beat the jams and get to their destination faster. We’re really proud that Mercedes-Benz has trusted TomTom to deliver this connected car service to so many of its customers around the world.”

Mercedes-Benz has been implementing TomTom Traffic in its cars with navigation since July 2013. The latest version includes Jam Tail Warnings that highlight the precise location of a traffic jam, and provide alerts allowing road users to drive more safely.

    TomTom zoekt partners in verkeerssystemen

    TomTom (06 mrt)
    8,460 0,000 (0,00%)
