18 August 2016 | By Louise Dransfield, Iain Withers
Incumbents Willmott Dixon and Balfour Beatty among those to miss out
Six contractors have landed roles on the highly sought after 6€bn P22 health contracting framework, Building has learned.
The winners are Bam, Kier, IHP (a Vinci and Sir Robert McAlpine joint venture), Interserve, Graham Construction and Galliford Try, according to market sources.
Two incumbents - Balfour Beatty and Willmott Dixon - missed out on spots, with Bam and Graham Construction replacing them. The remaining four contractors retained their roles from the previous P21+ framework.
Laing O’Rourke, which previously had a spot on the earlier P21 framework, had sought to regain a place on the framework but has also missed out.The winners are expected to be confirmed next week.
Willmott Dixon declined to comment. Balfour Beatty and Laing O’Rourke have been contacted for comment.
The Department of Health estimates the P22 framework will be worth between 2€bn to 6€bn over four years, with 750€m-866€m of work expected to be procured through it per year. It will replace P21+, which expires next month.
