Amsterdam, 29 April 2015 - TomTom (TOM2) today introduces TomTom MyDrive, a website and app designed to seamlessly connect the car to the digital world. For the first time, drivers can use their smartphone, tablet or PC to review real-time traffic information, plan routes, and send destinations to their TomTom GO, before they get in the car. TomTom MyDrive is launching with an innovative set of features and will continue to evolve, because the MyDrive platform is open to developers and third parties. This means that innovative driving concepts and applications can be developed and implemented in the future – benefiting drivers all over the world. At launch, TomTom MyDrive allows drivers to get going faster by sending destinations to their TomTom GO from their smartphone, tablet or PC. As soon as the driver gets in the car, they are ready to leave. TomTom MyDrive also helps drivers to know when to leave so that they arrive on time, because they can see real-time traffic information before they go. People can review the latest traffic situation, pre-plan routes and get an ETA based on the current traffic – allowing them to plan their departure or arrival time. And it's easier than ever to add favourite destinations anytime, anywhere. People can set home and work locations, save favourites and see them on the map on any device, and even import custom Points of Interest lists[1]. Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and managing director, TomTom Consumer: "MyDrive launches with some innovative features – all designed to make the driving experience more seamless. From knowing when to leave so that you arrive on time, to making your map personal with your favourite places – even sending your destination to your TomTom GO before you get in the car, we're really excited about the service. But this is just the beginning. MyDrive offers so much more – and, by opening-up the platform to developers, we're opening-up new, and exciting, possibilities for the future." MyDrive is available via mydrive.tomtom.com on PCs and laptops and via apps on iOS and Android™ devices on the Apple App Store and Google Play™. MyDrive launches on the all-new TomTom GO 510, GO 610, GO 5100 and GO 6100, and is available on previous[2] TomTom GO models via a software update.

L.s., Amsterdam, 29 April 2015 – TomTom (TOM2) is introducing Lifetime World Maps and Lifetime Speed Cameras[1] to drivers with the launch of new TomTom navigation devices. Lifetime World Maps allows people to drive with maps from around the world at no extra cost, for the lifetime of their TomTom GO device[2]. Lifetime Speed Cameras lets drivers know the locations of all speed cameras – both fixed and mobile, also for the lifetime of the device. The TomTom GO 510, 610, 5100 and 6100 feature a fully interactive screen to pinch, zoom and swipe – as well as a rich user interface, simplified user interaction, 3D Maps[3] and a Click & Go mount. Drivers can also choose between a 5" or a 6" screen size. And, to make the daily commute even easier, the new TomTom GO devices even include 'Drive Home' and 'Drive to Work' buttons in the main menu, for faster, simpler navigation. TomTom GO devices combine real-time traffic information with routing technology, to always offer drivers the fastest route available. TomTom Traffic covers all mapped roads and combines data from millions of data sources, from all over the world, to deliver traffic information so accurate that, with each new update, it can pinpoint the start and end of a traffic jam, precisely, down to 10 metres. Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and Managing Director, TomTom Consumer says: "With the addition of Lifetime World Maps and Lifetime Speed Cameras to our new TomTom GO devices, we're offering the most comprehensive package to drivers that we've ever launched. Our aim is to help you avoid the jams, getting to your destination faster, wherever in the world you might be." Lifetime TomTom Traffic is available via a smartphone connection on the TomTom GO 510 and 610. The TomTom GO 5100 and 6100 offer Lifetime TomTom Traffic via a built-in SIM with unlimited data and roaming at no extra cost. The new TomTom navigation devices are compatible with TomTom MyDrive[4]. For the first time, drivers can use their smartphone, tablet or PC to review real-time traffic information, plan routes, and send destinations to their TomTom GO, before they get in the car. Previously launched TomTom GO devices[5] are also compatible with MyDrive though a simple software update. Find out more about TomTom MyDrive here. The new TomTom GO devices are now available online and in-store from €199.95. Bron: corporate.tomtom.com/releasedetail.cf... Mydrive: mydrive.tomtom.com/en_gb/ viermeiden

Bandit ziet er goed uit. Nog een tikkie bulky. Maar nu de features?
*TomTom introduceert Action Camera, genaamd Bandit Binck
L.s., Amsterdam, 29 April 2015 – TomTom (TOM2) today launches the all new TomTom Bandit Action Camera which makes editing and sharing videos quick and easy. Instead of spending hours downloading and sorting through footage, users can now create an exciting edit and share it within moments of the action. Now every hero can share his or her skills. The TomTom Bandit is the first ever camera to come with a built-in media server, eliminating the need to download footage before being able to edit it. The camera works with a companion app, making it possible to create and share videos in a matter of minutes, simply by shaking a smartphone. "We know that the biggest frustration people have with action cameras today is the time and effort it takes to edit," says Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and managing director, TomTom Consumer. "With TomTom Bandit we've cut the editing time down from hours to minutes - all it takes is a shake!" "We took a simple, but radical approach to solving the editing problem," says Slobodan Stanisic, lead engineer, TomTom. "With all existing action cameras you first need to download gigabytes of footage to a powerful PC, a process that can take a long time. Then you need to find the highlights, put together a story and format it. We know this often takes hours. Not with the TomTom Bandit. We have designed a camera where the footage is processed on the camera itself, making the editing process far easier and much faster." The TomTom Bandit Action Camera is equipped with in-camera motion and GPS sensors to automatically find and tag exciting moments based on speed, altitude, G-force, acceleration and heart rate*. Highlights can also be tagged manually with a tagging button on the camera or the remote control*. The TomTom Bandit works with a smartphone app, which includes a superfast viewfinder. Footage can be reviewed instantly with the smartphone app thanks to the built-in media server. In editing mode, a simple shake of the smartphone instantly creates an exciting movie. Users can then easily make changes, add music and add overlays of favourite metrics, such as speed, before sharing with friends. The TomTom Bandit Action Camera produces great quality video. It has a wide angle lens, high-end 16 MP CCD sensor and a powerful processor. It is also completely waterproof, eliminating the need for an additional bulky case. ** The steel ring mounting system has a quick release mechanism and the low profile of the TomTom Bandit looks great on a helmet. The uniquely designed Batt-Stick combines the long lasting battery, microSD card and SuperSpeed USB 3.0. It plugs directly into a computer via USB to charge and download footage, removing the need for additional cables or adaptors. The TomTom Bandit Action Camera will be available on www.tomtom.com and selected retailers in May for 429 Euros. It will be available in APAC and the US later this summer. A premium pack will also be available in June including additional accessories for even more ways to enjoy the TomTom Bandit Action Camera. There will be a wide range of accessories available to purchase. For more information visit www.tomtom.com/action-camera viermeiden

Ik hoop wel dat ze er ook nog een basis versie van maken voor in de auto, eventueel gecombineerd met de PND.
