    Er zijn voor 8 miljard kWh aan salderings subsidies verstrekt a €0,15/kWh.
    1 barrel olie = ~136 kg
    Verbrandingswaarde = ~50 MJ/kg of 14kWh/kg, of 8kWh/kg bij 57% rendement.
    Zonnepanelen bespaarden dan 1 miljard kg olie, of 7,35 miljoen vaten a $54/vat.
    Dat komt overeen met $400 miljoen = €320 miljoen.

    Wij betaalden (jaarlijks) de zonnepanelen dus €1,2 miljard subsidie om €0,32 miljard aan olie te besparen.

    Van Oord Celebrates Borssele III & IV Offshore Wind Farm

    Borssele III & IV, one of the largest offshore Dutch wind farms, has reached full commissioning. Located 22 kilometres off the Dutch coast and the Province of Zeeland, the wind farm is capable of powering 825,000 Dutch households with renewable electricity. The construction of the 731.5 MW wind farm, with in total 77 MW turbines was completed on-time, with official commissioning on 6 January 2021. As the Balance of Plant contractor for the Borssele III & IV offshore wind farm, Van Oord was responsible for the design, engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the foundations and inter array cables together with the installation of 77 turbines of which the last was installed in November 2020. Cable installation vessel Nexus and trencher Dig-It completed the installation and burial of more than 170 kilometres of inter array cables.

    The Blauwwind consortium consisting of Partners Group, Shell, Diamond Generating Europe, Van Oord and Eneco, won the tender at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs in June 2016. The wind farm is part of the offshore wind roadmap drawn up by the Dutch government. Financial Close was achieved in June 2018, and the first monopile was installed in October 2019. The wind farm is connected to the Borssele Beta platform, built and operated by TenneT, which converts power from 66Kv to 220 kV and transports it to the onshore electrical substation at Borssele. The connection was completed in July 2020. The 731.5 MW wind farm will supply renewable energy accounting for up to 2.3% of total Dutch electricity demand.

    Iberdrola Building 3 Wind Farm in Malaga & Seville in Andalusia

    Iberdrola is continuing to make strides with its investments into renewables to continue to drive the energy transition and the recovery of the economy and employment. The company has started building a wind complex consisting of three farms in Malaga and Seville, in Andalusia, with a total of 79 MW. The first of these wind farms is the El Puntal II project, with 15 MW, on a site in the Sierra de la Yeguas municipal area, in Malaga. It will consist of three SG145-5 MW wind turbines, each with 5 MW, which will make it the most powerful installed in Spain. The second plant will be in Martín de la Jara in Seville, with 36 MW of installed power and with nine V150-4MW wind turbines. Iberdrola will develop the San Cristóbal wind farm, with 28 MW, consisting of four 4.5 MW and two 5 MW wind turbines in Estepa, also in Seville.

    These wind projects will stimulate business for local suppliers and create jobs. More than 150 professionals are expected to be required. Once operational, the facilities will generate enough clean energy to supply a population equivalent to 70,000 homes and will avoid the emissions of 39,200 t CO2/year.

    Andalusia has become a major pole of growth for Iberdrola in Spain. The company is already the leader in clean and green energy generation in the region, with almost 900 MW, and it is planning to triple its renewable installed capacity to 3,000 MW within the next five years, driving the energy transition as well as economic recovery and employment.

    This plan represents an investment of almost 1.5 billion euros and the installation and assembly phases alone will create 5,500 new jobs in the region.

    GE Renewable to Deliver Turbine for Onusberget Wind Farm in Sweden

    Luxcara and GE Renewable Energy announced an agreement to deliver 753 MW of onshore wind capacity with the Onusberget wind farm in northern Sweden. The project will be the largest single onshore wind farm in Europe and GE's largest onshore wind farm contract outside of the US. Luxcara has already started infrastructure work, and GE will begin installing turbines as early as July of this year. GE Renewable Energy will supply 137 of its Cypress 5.5 MW turbines, a powerful turbine with a 158 meter rotor, ideally suited for the project site's wind speeds and climate. The turbine blades will be equipped with an innovative ice mitigation system, ensuring a stable level of availability and reduced downtime. The parties also agreed on a 25-year full-turbine maintenance and service contract.

    The project with its sub-parks Kallamossen and Djupdal will produce enough power to supply electricity to the equivalent of more than 200,000 Swedish households per year and will save close to 1,000,000 tons of CO2 over its lifetime.

    Equinor Completes Farm Down of Dogger Bank A & B

    Equinor has closed the agreement to sell a 10% interest in Dogger Bank A (1,200 MW) and Dogger Bank B (1,200 MW) assets to Eni. As part of this transaction Eni has also completed the agreement to purchase a 10% interest in the Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B assets from project partner SSE on the same terms. Following this transaction, the new overall shareholding in Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B is SSE Renewables (40%), Equinor (40%) and Eni (20%).

    Eni entered the Dogger Bank A and B assets effective from financial close of project financing which was reached on 25 November 2020. The total consideration received at closing is GBP 206.4 million.

    The farm down to Eni is Equinor’s third offshore wind transaction in less than two years. The three transactions combined (divestments of non-operated interests in Arkona, Empire Wind /Beacon Wind and Dogger Bank A and B projects) generated an accounting gain of approximately USD 1.5 billion.

    Equinor divested around 2.5 GW capacity in the different project’s stages for the cash consideration just under USD 2 billion. This demonstrates the company’s track record in consistently capturing value from world class assets.

    The A and B phases of the Dogger Bank Wind Farm reached financial close at competitive terms underlining the attractiveness of the UK offshore wind assets and the confidence in the joint venture.

    The third phase of the wind farm, Dogger Bank C (1,200 MW), is being developed under a different timeline. There is no change to the ownership of this phase, in which Equinor and SSE each have a 50% stake.

    Total Farms Down Renewable Assets in France

    In line with its business model for the development of its renewables business, Total, through Total Quadran, its 100% renewable electricity production subsidiary in France, farms down respectively to Banque des Territoires and Crédit Agricole Assurances half of its equity in two portfolios of renewable projects.

    Crédit Agricole Assurances acquires a 50% stake in a portfolio consisting of 9 wind farms (103 MW) and 44 solar power plants (182 MW) for a total capacity of 285 MW (100%).

    Banque des Territoires takes a 50% stake in a portfolio consisting of 8 solar farms located in New Caledonia with a total capacity of 53 MW (100%).

    These farm-down transactions value these portfolios (close to cumulative 340 MW) at an enterprise value of around $600 million for 100%. They derisk the Group portfolio, accelerate cash flow recognition and increase the return on equity.

    MAASTRICHT (ANP) - Provincies zijn verdeeld als het gaat om de mogelijke komst van een nieuwe kerncentrale op hun grondgebied. Limburg, Flevoland, Overijssel en Zuid-Holland zullen daar vooralsnog geen medewerking aan verlenen. Zeeland en Noord-Brabant zijn wel positief.

    De Zeeuwse gedeputeerde Jo-Annes de Bat zegt dat Zeeland goed te spreken is over de huidige kerncentrale in Borssele. De bedrijfsvergunning loopt af in 2033, maar de provincie wil de centrale ook daarna openhouden. Zeeland zou er graag nog een tweede kerncentrale bij zetten en kijkt ook naar de mogelijkheid een thoriumcentrale te bouwen. Een kerncentrale die op thorium werkt veroorzaakt minder kernafval.

    Noord-Brabant "verwelkomt kernenergie als onderdeel van de energiemix van met name na 2030", zegt gedeputeerde Eric de Bie. Al benadrukt hij dat de provincie nog geen standpunt heeft ingenomen over de vestiging van een nucleaire centrale. Eind deze maand verschijnt een onderzoek naar kernenergie dat TNO heeft uitgevoerd in opdracht van Noord-Brabant. Daarin is ook de mogelijkheid van een thoriumcentrale meegenomen. "Wanneer het onderzoek gereed is, geven Gedeputeerde Staten aan hoe zij verder aan de slag willen met kernenergie", aldus De Bie.

    Omgevingswet

    Flevoland, Overijssel en Zuid-Holland willen wel nadenken over een kerncentrale die zou werken op thorium, maar volgens wetenschappers is die techniek op zijn vroegst pas rond 2050 commercieel beschikbaar. Kernafval is voor Flevoland, Overijssel en Zuid-Holland het grootste pijnpunt. In de Omgevingswet heeft Flevoland opgenomen dat er geen medewerking wordt verleend aan de vestiging van een kerncentrale, zolang er geen oplossingen zijn voor het afval en de veiligheid. Ook in Overijssel en Zuid-Holland (Tweede Maasvlakte) gelden dergelijke besluiten.

    Gedeputeerde Staten van Limburg sluiten kernenergie in de provincie op langere termijn niet uit, blijkt uit antwoorden van GS op vragen van Forum voor Democratie. Gedacht kan dan worden aan ergens rond 2050. Maar op dit moment is er geen aanleiding om een vestigingslocatie te onderzoeken, nu het Rijk al andere plekken op het oog heeft, aldus GS. Het college verwees daarbij naar Eemshaven (Groningen), Borssele en de Tweede Maasvlakte. Het Overijsselse Kampen is in 2018 genoemd.

    Eemshaven lijkt echter geen optie meer te zijn. Premier Mark Rutte zei zondag nog in het RTL-verkiezingsdebat dat een nieuwe kerncentrale in Groningen kan komen. Daarop kreeg hij veel kritiek vanuit de noordelijke provincie. De fracties van GroenLinks in Groningen en Drenthe hebben samen met hun groene collega's in de Duitse deelstaat Nedersaksen hun provinciebesturen onmiddellijk opgeroepen om "alles in het werk te stellen om het kabinet een andere koers te laten varen".

    De fracties zijn faliekant tegen en zeiden al genoeg last te hebben van de gaswinning. Rutte zei donderdagmorgen in het Radio 1 Journaal dat hij het "een beetje verkeerd had ingeschat". Hij wilde niet meer zeggen waar zo'n centrale wel moet komen.

    Verwerking van groene stroom wordt een probleem. Netwerk raakt overbelast.

    Nog nooit produceerde Nederland zoveel elektriciteit uit zon en wind als in 2020. De netbeheerders vrezen dat de kosten om al die elektriciteit te verwerken de pan uitrijzen.

    In 2020, zo meldde het CBS gisteren, werd in Nederland ruim een kwart van alle elektriciteit opgewekt uit hernieuwbare bronnen (wind, zon, water en biomassa); dat was een groei van 40 procent vergeleken met 2019. In totaal werd er 31,1 miljard kWh groene stroom opgewekt. De groei komt vanwege nieuwe windturbines op zee, maar ook doordat er meer zonneparken op land bijkomen.

    Netbeheerder Enexis heeft er de handen vol aan, meldde het bedrijf gisteren bij de presentatie van de jaarcijfers. Dikke nieuwe kabels en nieuwe zwaarder uitgevoerde tussenstations zijn nodig om al die energie op de juiste plek te krijgen. En de energietransitie in Nederland is nog maar net begonnen. Vorig jaar werd bijvoorbeeld voor 70,8 miljard kWh elektriciteit uit aardgas opgewekt en dat zal de komende decennia allemaal omgezet worden in groene stroom.

    Enexis pleit ervoor om nieuwe zonneparken en windturbines daar te plaatsen waar de elektriciteit ook wordt verbruikt. Ook zouden de aansluitingen van grote parken geknepen moeten worden. Geen kabels aanleggen om alle zonne-energie van die spaarzame zomerse dagen met zestien uur fel zonlicht te kunnen transporteren, maar bescheidener aansluitingen die meer zijn afgestemd op de gemiddelde productie. ,,Als we het systeem zo efficiënt mogelijk inrichten, dan zou ons dat de komende vijf tot tien jaar maximaal 660 miljoen euro kunnen besparen. En de andere netbeheerders in Nederland kunnen ook dergelijke bedragen besparen'', zegt chief transitions officer Jeroen Sanders. ,,Het is heel goed dat er zoveel duurzame energie wordt aangesloten. Maar de druk op onze netten neemt toe. Het moet maatschappelijk betaalbaar blijven.''

    Sanders stelt dat in de toekomst het 'overschot' aan groene energie moet worden omgezet in waterstof om het te kunnen gebruiken voor windstille en grijze dagen. Waterstof kan eventueel ook gebruikt worden als vervanger van aardgas in huishoudens. ,,Bij de verduurzaming van de industrie zal waterstof over vijf jaar al een rol spelen. Bij de verwarming van huizen kan waterstof mogelijk over tien jaar ingezet worden.''

    Er hangt een stevig prijskaartje aan de energietransitie. Het Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving meldde deze winter al dat de elektriciteitsrekening van Nederlanders gaat stijgen om de ambities op het gebied van duurzame energie waar te maken. Om de sterk stijgende hoeveelheid stroom die zonnepanelen en windmolens opwekken te transporteren, voorziet beheerder TenneT de komende negen jaar tussen de 7,8 en 8,7 miljard aan extra investeringen in het landelijke hoogspanningsnet.

    En de regionale netbeheerders zoals Enexis en Stedin zijn naar schatting ook nog eens 2,4 miljard euro kwijt om hun netten op sterkte te krijgen. Volgens het PBL kan de energierekening daardoor 5 procent per jaar stijgen.

    Enexis waarschuwt dat de problemen zo groot worden dat ze niet met geld alleen zijn op te lossen. In het verzorgingsgebied van Enexis, dat klanten in Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, Noord-Brabant en Limburg op het gas- en elektranet aansluit, steeg het totale vermogen van alle duurzame opwekinstallaties in 2020 met 60 procent ten opzichte van het voorgaande jaar.

    Projectontwikkelaars
    Het probleem is dat projectontwikkelaars sneller grote zonneparken kunnen realiseren dan dat het net kan worden uitgebreid. Onder andere in Limburg en Brabant dreigt het net deze toename niet meer aan te kunnen, waardoor netbeheerders daar tijdelijk geen grote opwekkers van energie meer kunnen aansluiten.

    Volgens de netbeheerder moet de rijksoverheid een sterkere rol gaan spelen dan nu het geval is. Omdat netbeheerders zelf geen voorrang mogen geven bij het aansluiten van bijvoorbeeld de industrie, huishoudens of zonneparken, wil Enexis dat Den Haag die keuzes maakt.

    energie bedrijven vragen het kabinet om met 2,5 miljard euro te investeren in waterstof.

    Het geld is nodig voor opslag en productie. Het zijn niet de kleinste bedrijven die deze kabinetssteun vragen. Eneco, Essent, Vattenfall, Engie, TenneT, Stedin, Alliander en Gasunie en een paar kleinere energiebedrijven zijn de ondertekenaars van de brief aan het kabinet.

    Als de bedrijven hier zo veel in zien, waarom dan zelf niet investeren? Ze zijn toch ondernemingen, geen steuntrekkers?

    Men is zo gewend aan subsidie, dat ze stil blijven zitten als die er niet komt.

    Jaarlijks gaan er tientallen miljarden euro als subsidie naar de energiebedrijven en NOG is het niet genoeg.

    Vattenfall Awards Van Oord 4-year O&M Framework Contract

    Van Oord has been awarded a 4-year Operations & Maintenance contract by Vattenfall. Working through its MPI Offshore organisation, Van Oord will provide jack-up and associated lifting services for main component exchanges across Vattenfall’s portfolio of offshore wind farms. The contract includes planned and unplanned maintenance campaigns for approximately 600 Vattenfall wind turbine generators. The parties both have the option of extending the contract for another year.

    Vattenfall is a market leader in offshore wind, with 10 offshore wind farms in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. During the contract period, its offshore portfolio will be extended to 622 turbines with a combined capacity of 2.6 GW. Wind power is a growing pillar in Vattenfall’s strategy. Its ambition is to operate 15 GW of commissioned offshore wind capacity by 2030.

    Siemens Gamesa Bags Order for Courseulles-sur-Mer Offshore Wind

    Leading France’s wind power revolution, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has been awarded the firm order from the EDF Renewables-Enbridge-wpd consortium for the 448 MW Courseulles-sur-Mer offshore wind power project. Located 10 km off the Bessin coast, the project brings the total capacity awarded to Siemens Gamesa by the consortium in France to approx. 1 GW. Both the wind turbine nacelles and blades for the Courseulles-sur-Mer project are scheduled to be produced at the Siemens Gamesa facility currently under construction in Le Havre.

    The 448 MW project will rely upon the stable technology of the SWT-7.0-154 Direct Drive offshore wind turbine, a part of the world’s most installed offshore turbine fleet. Installation and commissioning of the Courseulles-sur-Mer project is scheduled for 2024.

    Siemens Gamesa Inks 50MW Deal with EnergieKontor UK

    Siemens Gamesa has signed a 50 MW deal with EnergieKontor UK Ltd to supply the subsidy-free Longhill Burn wind farm near Edinburgh with the industry-leading SG 5.8-155 turbines, one of the most powerful wind turbines in the sector. The contract comes before the next renewable energy auction, CfD round 4, scheduled for late this year. The deal shows green shoots for the resilient onshore wind sector in the UK and is a strong sign that one of the lowest cost sources of energy is able to help meet the country’s ambitious net zero target.

    The deal is also the first for the Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform in the UK, a platform that through its large 155-meter rotor and latest technology offers one of the highest power ratings in onshore wind and a flexible rating capability to 6.6 MW. The wind turbine order is accompanied by a 25-year full-scope service agreement.

    Since its launch in April 2019, the Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform has now recorded over 2.3 GW in sales, with major contracts to supply wind farms in Sweden, Brazil, Finland and now the UK.

    Iberdrola Consolidates Renewable Leadership in Extremadura

    Iberdrola consolidates its renewable leadership in Extremadura and continues its investment plan in the region, with 750 MW of new photovoltaic capacity under development in the province of Cáceres, with which it will contribute to economic recovery and the demographic challenge in the region. The Tagus photovoltaic plant 380 MW will be located in the municipality of Alcántara and will have more than 930,000 panels and 226 inverters on a fixed structure. The company expects that it will be commissioned between the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023. The Cedillo photovoltaic plant, located between Alcántara and Herrera de Alcántara, will have installed capacity of 375 MW, with 925,680 panels and 180 fixed structure inverters. In this case, it is expected to enter into operation in 2022.

    With a joint investment of 420 million euros, the construction and start-up of these two photovoltaic projects will have a leverage effect on the industrial fabric and local employment, requiring the services of more than 1,700 professionals.

    Following the startup of the largest photovoltaic plant in Europe, Núñez de Balboa (500 MW), Iberdrola is currently building eight renewable projects in the region, with total capacity of more than 1,300 MW. Projects include the Francisco Pizarro photovoltaic plant (590 MW), Europe's largest photovoltaic project under development, which will provide 375,000 people/year with clean energy. It will become operative in 2022 and will prevent 245,000 tonne of CO2 emissions per year, reinforcing the competitiveness of this technology for protecting the environment and mitigating global warming. It is also making progress on the Ceclavín (328 MW), Arañuelo I, II and III (150 MW), Arenales (150 MW) and two plants in Cedillo (100 MW)

    Iberdrola currently has more than 2,900 MW installed in Extremadura, making it the second autonomous region with the most 'green' megawatts installed by the company. With the projects planned in the region, more than 2,600 MW, Extremadura's renewable capacity will be doubled to 5,500 MW.

    Bilfinger Stops Nord Stream 2 Pipeline Work

    German tabloid Bild reported that construction and engineering group Bilfinger has withdrawn from work related to the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Concerned over looming US sanctions targeting companies associated with the project, Bilfinger has recently informed the United States as well as Nord Stream 2 AG, a subsidiary of Russia’s Gazprom, about the decision.

    Bilfinger had been contracted to develop, deliver and operate process control and safety systems for the controversial pipeline as well as supply a gas-fired heating generation unit. A heat station for the preheating of natural gas is being built for gas grid operator and energy provider Gascade Gastransport at the landfall point in Lubmin.

    Bilfinger is responsible for the engineering, delivery, assembly and commissioning of a 90 MW + 30 MW reserve natural gas fired heat generation plant. This consists of four structurally identical natural gas fired 2-flame tube boilers. In addition, we are also responsible for the entire warm-water system and supplementary systems as well as the required electrical and control technology plant peripherals for the complete regulating and monitoring of the plant.

    Iberdrola Plans Three Photovoltaic Farms in Valencia Region

    Iberdrola is making progress with the formalities for its first photovoltaic projects in the Valencia region, which will have an installed capacity of 450 megawatts and represent an investment of more than 235 million euros. The company has plans to build two solar plants (PSF Ayora 1 and FV Cofrentes I) in Valle de Ayora-Cofrentes, each with an installed capacity of 200 MW, along with their energy evacuation infrastructures, such as a substation and the power lines necessary to transport the energy; and a third 50 MW facility (FV Alhorines), which is to be located in the La Encina district in Villena (Alicante).

    The plants planned in the region will comprise a total of almost one million photovoltaic modules and provide employment for almost 1,450 professionals during peak periods, helping to reactivate the local economy and guide companies and employment towards sectors with a future. The projects have involved reaching agreements with numerous landowners in the different areas.

    Once operational, these facilities will generate enough clean energy to supply the equivalent of 220,000 homes and avoid emissions of 140,000 tons of CO2/year into the atmosphere.

    Naturgy to Supply Renewable Energy to Sidenor in Spain

    European leader in Special Steel Long Products Spanish Sidenor has entered into a renewable energy supply agreement for its production plants. According to this agreement, which will last 10 years, Naturgy will supply Sidenor with electric energy produced from renewable sources. Sidenor will obtain an energy supply amounting to 350 GWh per year, coming from renewable, solar and wind energy, within the framework of a power purchase agreement.

    This is a step further in Sidenor’s commitment to the fight against climate change and to the decarbonisation of its processes by using green energy in its production facilities.

    Sidenor has production centers in the Basque Country, Cantabria and Catalonia and has commercial delegations in Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom, where more than 1,500 people work.

    Impacts of Nord Stream 2 Construction in 2019 As Assessed

    The monitoring of Nord Stream 2 offshore construction activities in 2019 shows that there were no impacts other than those that had been predicted. In the Russian onshore section, there were no significant impacts on the biotic and abiotic environment of the protected area. In 2019, the monitoring focused on relevant physical-chemical (e.g. water quality and air quality), biotic (e.g. birds and marine mammals) and socio-economic (e.g. cultural heritage and ship traffic) environments. The objective was to observe potential impacts caused by the construction activities implemented offshore (in Russia, Finland, Sweden, Germany) and onshore (in Russia, Germany). Construction activities included pipelay, rock placement, cofferdam installation, post-lay trenching and dredging/backfilling.

    Also additional monitoring activities were carried out through specialist studies to enhance scientific knowledge of for example the Baltic Sea environment.

    Extensive mitigation measures have been implemented throughout the construction phase. Conformance to the environmental and social management system has been monitored through an environmental and social auditing programme.

    The monitoring results offshore verified that:

    In German waters, the impact of construction activities performed in 2018 – i.e. dredging, pipelay and backfilling – on the seabed was in line with the assessment as demonstrated by post-construction monitoring of 2019. Exclusive use of backhoe dredgers during dredging inside protected Natura 2000 habitats proved to be a successful mitigation measure, allowing minimisation of the spatial footprint. No contamination of the seabed sediments was observed.

    In Swedish waters, underwater noise associated with pipelay and rock placement was comparable to or lower in level and frequency than noise from commercial cargo ships in the area. This supported the initial assessment that no harm occurred to the marine mammals.

    Additional monitoring provided valuable information for the scientific community: for example, a previously unknown pod of grey seals was found at the Sommers island rockery, and the round trip of a tracked Baltic ringed seal to western Estonia was identified for the first time.

    Monitoring of third-party shipping traffic demonstrated that risk mitigation measures were successfully implemented during construction in all countries. No incidents were recorded.

    Project activities in Finnish, Swedish and Danish waters did not disturb cultural heritage objects.

    There were no chance finds of munitions and cultural heritage objects in Danish waters.

    The spawning of Baltic herring and the seasonal salmon migrations were not impacted.

    No significant impacts on water quality occurred during pipelay, dredging, trenching and rock placement. The results were in compliance with the requirements set by national standards.

    In the Russian nearshore section, installation of the cofferdam successfully prevented increase of turbidity and general impacts on water quality during the main construction activities in shallow waters. Analysis of seabed sediments demonstrated no significant increase in pollutant concentrations in the areas where seabed intervention work took place. The monitoring of soil quality, exogenous processes and hydrology mostly displayed values within the natural variability of the area.

    Monitoring results onshore verified that:

    In Russia, there were no significant impacts on the flora and fauna of the Kurgalsky Nature Reserve (also at the boundaries of the Kader swamp), which confirmed the conclusions of the environmental impact assessment.

    Red Data Book Species relocated in 2018 in Kurgalsky Nature Reserve, e.g. Aulacomnium androgynum and Epipactis atrorubens, were in a good condition. The hydrological regime of the area was not impacted by the construction activities and no hazardous exogenous processes were detected throughout 2019.

    In Germany, airborne noise monitoring at monitoring sites did not detect an acoustic impact from construction noise.

    Erdogan en Putin geven startsein derde unit Turkse kerncentrale

    In de Turkse provincie Mersin is woensdag het startsein gegeven van de derde unit van de eerste kerncentrale van het land. Dat is gedaan door de Turkse president Recep Tayyip Erdogan en zijn Russische collega Vladimir Putin.

    De kerncentrale genaamd Akkuyu zal jaarlijks 35 miljard kilowattuur elektriciteit produceren om ongeveer 10 procent van het energieverbruik van Turkije te dekken, zei Erdogan tijdens de virtuele ceremonie.

    De Turkse president benadrukte dat de energiecentrale is uitgerust met de meest geavanceerde beveiligingssystemen om ervoor te zorgen dat deze voldoet aan de normen van het Internationaal Atoomenergie Agentschap (IAEA).

    Het besluit om kernenergie op te nemen in de energie-infrastructuur van Turkije is een strategische stap voor de zekerheid van de energievoorziening, benadrukte Erdogan. Hij merkte ook op dat het aandeel van binnenlandse en duurzame energie in het geïnstalleerde vermogen een niveau van 63,7 procent heeft bereikt.

    De ontdekking van 405 miljard kubieke meter aardgas door Turkije in de Zwarte Zee was een belangrijke stap in de richting van energieonafhankelijkheid, voegde Erdogan eraan toe, waarbij hij zei dat het land ernaar streeft kernenergie toe te voegen aan de energieproductie van het land, die geen CO2-uitstoot veroorzaakt en milieuvriendelijk is.

    Netbeheerder investeert komende jaren miljarden in energienet

    ARNHEM (ANP) - Landelijk netbeheerder TenneT schroeft de investeringen in het energienet de komende jaren flink op, vanwege de toename van het aantal aansluitingen door de energietransitie. Daarvoor moet het netwerk "aanzienlijk" worden verbeterd. De komende drie tot vijf jaar investeert TenneT jaarlijks tussen de 5 en 6 miljard euro in de uitbreiding van het net in zowel Nederland als Duitsland. Dat meldt de netbeheerder in het jaarverslag over 2020.

    De afgelopen jaren is het aantal aanvragen van nieuwe klanten in Nederland vertienvoudigd, schrijft de netbeheerder. Dat komt veelal door de toename van duurzame energie, zoals zonneparken en windparken. Het aansluiten daarvan moet vaak op landelijke locaties gebeuren waar onvoldoende infrastructuur is. Dat leidt momenteel tot beperkingen in wat het energienet aankan.

    Om het extra werk aan te kunnen trekt TenneT meer technisch medewerkers aan. Dit jaar komen er in zowel Nederland als Duitsland 600 banen bij.

    TenneT investeerde het afgelopen jaar 3,4 miljard euro in het energienet, naar eigen zeggen een recordbedrag. Daarvan was 1,3 miljard euro voor projecten in Nederland. Naar activiteiten in Duitsland ging 2,1 miljard euro, daar is TenneT de beheerder van een groot deel van het hoogspanningsnet. Er werden 42 grote wind- en zonneprojecten in de twee landen afgerond, en de netbeheerder investeerde in zogeheten elektriciteitssnelwegen in Noord-Nederland en Zeeland en andere verbindingen waarmee stroom getransporteerd kan worden.

    De netbeheerder noemt de coronapandemie een "kans" om in te spelen op "groen herstel" en te investeren in duurzaamheid. "Iedereen is zich nu bewust van de klimaatdoelen", licht een woordvoerder toe. Volgens de netbeheerder biedt de Noordzee veel mogelijkheden voor een "internationale hub van groene energie".

    TenneT zette in coronajaar 2020 een omzet van 4,5 miljard euro in de boeken. Dat is 9 procent meer dan een jaar eerder. De stijging van het resultaat kwam onder meer door het doorrekenen van de kosten voor de uitbreiding van het stroomnetwerk aan regionale netbeheerders en klanten. De brutowinst dikte aan tot 910 miljoen euro. Daarvan profiteert de Nederlandse staat, die van TenneT 149 miljoen euro aan dividend krijgt.

    DEN HAAG (ANP/BLOOMBERG) - Door de harde wind zijn de stroomprijzen voor zaterdag tot onder nul gezakt. Naast Nederland gaat het ook om de termijnmarkt in België, Duitsland en Denemarken. De stroom die door windmolens is opgewekt, zorgt samen met de andere energie-opwekkers voor een overaanbod op de netten en daarmee voor negatieve prijzen.

    Dit fenomeen is niet uniek. In België zijn er in de politiek wel vragen gesteld omdat daar windparken op zee stilgelegd moesten worden om de piek te verlagen. De Belgische minister van Energie noemde dit de wereld op zijn kop. België is voor een groot deel van zijn stroom afhankelijk van kernenergie die minder eenvoudig uit te zetten is. Energieleverancier Eneco vindt dat hernieuwbare energie juist voorrang moet krijgen op het net.

    Ook in Nederland gebeurt het wel eens dat er te veel stroom wordt aangeleverd, bijvoorbeeld op heel zonnige dagen of bij veel wind. Volgens netbeheerder TenneT wordt op die momenten als eerste beslist om conventionele stroomopwekkers als kolen- en biomassacentrales uit te zetten.

    "Vaak zien uitbaters van de centrales een dergelijke piek vooraf al aankomen, waarop ze de centrale op voorhand al uitzetten", legt een woordvoerder van TenneT uit. Het laten draaien van de centrales op dit soort momenten is namelijk niet rendabel.

    Volgens TenneT ontstaan met onder andere het uitfaseren van kolencentrales een reeks nieuwe uitdagingen om het stroomnet betrouwbaar te houden. Dit omdat er niet zomaar even kan worden bijgestookt op het moment dat er een tekort is aan wind of zon. Ook heeft Nederland geen waterkrachtcentrales die even aangezet kunnen worden. Een deel van de oplossing zit in het beter bufferen van energie. Daarnaast heeft ook de ontwikkeling van waterstof de aandacht, aldus TenneT.
