Looking at the MD&A, section; Significant Events During 2011: There are several projects that are finished, but they all are for kW projects and yet that generated $5mil revenue for OPEL Solar in 2011, but to make it a little more accurate we have to look at the Events of 2010, especially those of the second year half, as these projects are, or should be booked in 2011. 2011 - 5 MW: "Initial deliveries and installations were made in 2011, and the project is awaiting results and additional funding to move forward." This is a test field and they probably delivered only a few kW's for this set-up. IMO - 5 MW: "This order adds another 5MW of CPV and trackers for solar fields in Inner Mongolia." Same as above. - 125kW: "TF-800 single axis tracker order from Greenlight Power Company for the first phase of a 1.4MW solar farm." So only 125kW was installed in June. - 35kW: "solar installation at the Aquarion Water Company’s local water treatment facility." Finished in Jan '12 - 95kW: "OPEL was awarded a turn-key solar installation of 95kW by the Town of Newtown." Nearly finished. - 480 kW: "OPEL completed the delivery of 480kW of its TF-800 single axis tracking system to Conergy." 2010 - "In April, ABB signed an LOI with OPEL Solar to supply its single axis tracking systems for a 24 MW utility grid installation in Nevada, to start late this year and ending in the first half of 2011." - 2 MW "In December, OPEL signed a joint venture agreement with Ecotech Environmental Technology Ltd... The creation of OSA includes an initial purchase order for two megawatts." - 446 kW: "In December, OPEL signed an agreement with Toray Plastics (America), Inc. (“Toray”) for a 446 kilowatt." - There are several 1 MW projects but I assume these are already booked in the 2010 revenue. 2012 - 4.6 MW: "announced today that it has completed delivery of 4.6 Megawatts (“MW”) of its TF-850 market leading solar trackers to Global Energy Service U.S.A." Even with this mustered information its very hard to calculate what future projects will bring in revenue... Because each one is different, one is with trackers only, others are combined with panels, then you have different kind of panels and trackers, or some projects are phased etc, so for Sh's its very hard to determine what we can expect of future revenue based on past events. In the best case scenario we can only make guesstimates and my roughly calculated version is that $5 mil revenue for 2011 came from 3 - 5 MW of orders. So if several projects equaling 3 - 5 MW can generate up to $5 mil, and knowing that we have 2 x 5 MW orders, and a 1.285 MW order waiting to be installed that would be another +- $14 mil waiting to be booked, and there is that 4.6 MW order that is finished in Q1, so that would come close to $20 mil if everything occurred in 2012. But there was also a MOU in early 2010 of possible projects of up to 150 MW, and a LOI of 24 MW then looking at the previous statement from management of $50 - 80 mil, counting from June 2010 + 18 months was not just pulled out of thin air, but a mere calculation "of what could be coming"... (Taking into account that funding for these projects can be raised of course!)
Today the market displayed a typical over-reaction and sell-off which represents a great buying opportunity for intelligent long investors. Consider the main points : 1.0 Operating Loss of $2.41M was only slightly higher than what was largely expected. 2.0 Inventory $3.82M right-off unfortunate but essentially only a Balance Sheet adjustment. 3.0 $1.5M impairment charge (right-off provision) for the Spanish Solar Field issue was appropriate and necessary under proper governance guidelines. 4.0 It is common practice for PLC's to incur all liabilities in Year End financials in order to pave the way for a clean start to the new fiscal year. If it's going to be a poor quarter and YE - incur every liability. 5.0 Q1 2012 financials will show a much reduced burn rate and much smaller loss. Note : Could Q2 2012 present the first profitable earnings period. 6.0 $1B quotation funnel in healthy margin Tracker / Solar solutions is significant. Consider if Opel win just 5% of this quotation funnel the company becomes a profitable entity, especially as the burn rate has been significantly reduced since Dec 31st 2011. 7.0 Development at BAE and a major US Military Contractor continues SUCCESSFULLY with specific focus on the much sought after IR device solutions. 8.0 Waffers produced by BAE are being used to VALIDATE VARIOUS capabilities and devices using the POET platform. 9.0 ODIS made significant progress in Optical Interconnection of High Speed Circuits. 10.0 Funding redirected to ensure continuation of BAE development. 11.0 Opel to develop a "drop-in" solution for the Military marketplace using POET, develop a Military Spec focused device and acquire a Contractor and Government Entity (CAGE) Code for it's PRODUCTS. 12.0 Expand ODIS engineering team. 13.0 Procure additional equipment required for the continuing development of POET on a speedier and more efficient basis. Numerous reasons to be patient and long on this incredible technological development path.

ODIS Continues Work with NASA Phase II Development Contract: Breakthrough Optical Code Technology Continues to Influence Air, Space and Commercial Advances. SHELTON, CONNECTICUT and TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 1, 2012) - OPEL Technologies Inc. (TSX VENTURE:OPL) and ODIS Inc. (collectively "OPEL" or "the Company"), a semiconductor device and process developer and, a leading global supplier of solar tracker systems and other solar related products, announces after months of intense specification review ODIS has officially received a follow on development contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration ("NASA"). The Phase II Award is for $750,000. After an evaluation of the successful research and development progress in the Phase I Award, NASA's continued acceptance of ODIS's POET platform as a preferred method to develop Optoelectronic infrastructure for RF/Optical phased arrays led to the decision to issue the Phase II and carry on with POET development and association with ODIS. Next generation sensors in space require both optical sensing in the 1.0 - 1.5um waveband and mmw sensing at 35GHz. Normally, separate emitting apertures are required for the optical and RF functions. ODIS will develop the Planar OptoElectronic Technology ("POET") to combine the RF and optical transmit beams for phased array sensors into a single monolithic circuit, with each circuit providing a pixel of the RF array. When multiple circuits are produced on a single wafer, a phased array sensor is realized monolithically. POET will also enable on-chip electronic control of both RF and optical beam steering angles by using differential group delay produced with integrated optical resonators. With the large number of such spacecraft sensors deployed in extended missions, a huge advantage is gained by the elimination of weight and power along with improvements in reliability. The combining of two sensors into the same aperture achieves all of these goals. Leon M. Pierhal, President & CEO of OPEL, explains, "Although ODIS has a history of successfully receiving SBIR ("Small Business Innovation Research") grants for many years, this Phase II NASA grant builds on the significance of the first award because it indicates NASA considers the POET process integral to meeting their future needs." "As a reminder, commercial applications may be brought to bear once the device is completed for NASA," Pierhal continued. "Compact electronically scanned phased array sensors with combined RF and optical emission have significant commercial potential in security, aviation and free space optics communication markets. These are active sensors which complement the traditional infrared and visible imagers." POET (PlanarOptoElectric Technology) is ODIS's new and patented semiconductor fabrication process. The heart of POET is a unique and patented Group III-V materials system that supports monolithic fabrication of ICs containing active and passive optical elements, together with high-performance analog and digital elements. For the first time an economical integration of many optical devices together with dense, high-speed analog and high-speed, low-power digital elements are possible in monolithic ICs. POET allows ODIS to fundamentally alter the landscape for a broad range of applications by offering components with dramatically lowered cost together with increased speed, density, and reliability. About OPEL Technologies Inc., OPEL Solar Inc. and ODIS Inc . With operations in Shelton, CT and head office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the Company, through OPEL Solar, Inc., designs, manufactures and markets dual- and single-axis trackers and other solar related products for CPV and PV systems for energy applications worldwide. The Company, through ODIS Inc., a U.S. company, designs III-V semiconductor devices for military, industrial and commercial applications, including infrared sensor arrays and ultra-low-power random access memory. The Company has 36 patents issued and 14 patents pending in PV systems technologies and for its semiconductor POET process. The POET process enables the monolithic fabrication of integrated circuits containing both electronic and optical elements, with potential high-speed and power-efficient applications in devices such as servers, tablet computers and smartphones. OPEL's common shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol "OPL". For more information about OPEL, please visit our websites at www.opelsolar.com; and www.opeltechinc.com; and for ODIS at www.odisinc.com.

Keep it up!!
Patience is required. I have always thought that the license for a military device will be the starting point for this stock moving up to the multiple dollar range. And it could happen when we least expect it. The many hours of due diligence provided for so many months will have been worth it. In the meantime I am ignoring the share price. The payoff will be extraordinary when it comes. New ODIS staff at UCONN and BAE means they are ramping up development. Statements of successful development at BAE BAE Systems successfully continues its independent development of an infrared sensor device using the POET platform. The most recent POET advancements have led to the release of a product technology road map, now available for viewing on the ODIS website. So BAE are independently developing the IR which is as we know is for a specific product. ODIS has the new phase 2 SBIR for the RF/optical phased arrays. And there is the new patent for the Laser Warning Receiver for missile defense. POET has huge advantages in this area compared to existing technologies and they state: This is a core patent from which additional development is expected. And we have the near term optical interconnection of high speed circuits under development. The wait is hard but there are lots of irons in the fire. The first military license will start the ball rolling on the share price. The optical interconnect for high speed circuits will be a disruptive technology.investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.a...

Connecting the dots: Conergy, China and Opel A Chinese company will acquire 30% of Conergywww.pv-magazine.com/news/details/beit... OPL has a connection with Conergyfinance.yahoo.com/news/OPEL-Solar-Tra... Opel has megawatt contracts in China. Conergy has done projects before using Opel trackers. China is buying 30% of Conergy. Opel has bids in on $1 billion in projects. But there is more; An investment bank has been selected in Sept 2011 and they usually work 6 to 9 months to establish a monetization process... WE ARE IN MONTH 8 NOW! SOMETHING in Opel's books convinced a finance company that has a record of loaning to successful companies to give Opel a line of credit for $5 million. Something in Opel's books that we did not see on the 2011 fiancial report (but will in the Q 1 report coming up very soon. (and the 2011 report got the write offs out of the way). And the SP is starting to move up. Oh yes, and Opel is getting new equipment to speed up the POET validations. Also the Pellegrino Valuation report said that it would take 12 to 18 months before POET would be ready to commercialize. Pellegrino said that in March of 2011, so we're past the 12 month and in the next few months we could see a big contract coming for OPL. Do your own DD & decide wisely...investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.a... PS: Spread the word if you like what you see ;-)
