    Volkswagen of America Investing in 50 EV Dealers

    Volkswagen of America Inc has unveiled the first major results of its nationwide Network Readiness Co-Op Program, an investment of USD 20 million to support its more than 600 dealership partners to transform into regional hubs of EV experience. With sales and reservations for the all-electric ID.4 SUV climbing, Volkswagen’s program seeks to enhance consumer access by helping its 50-state dealership network establish the underlying EV infrastructure, such as upgraded service centers and high-capacity chargers. As a direct result of the program, which will continue through June 2022, Volkswagen dealers have added 23,490 kWh of charging capacity, trained more than 1,260 EV service technicians, and implemented dedicated EV Specialists to create e-mobility centric consumer experiences across the country.

    In addition, Volkswagen has launched a dedicated EV Technician Retention Program to support dealers to boost training, incentivize their highly skilled technicians, and recruit new talent equipped at addressing the EV shift. The program enables Volkswagen and participating dealers to financially reward dealership technicians with a retention bonus of $2,000 per year, empowering them to gain new individual certifications to enhance their skillsets and build up comprehensive expertise for the ID.4 and all Volkswagen electric models in the years to come.

    To date, the ID.4 is among the fastest-selling vehicles in Volkswagen of America’s current product portfolio. With more than 15,000 cars sold and more than 40,000 ID.4 gross reservations since its introduction in March 2021, consumer interest keeps climbing. More than 85 percent of all ID.4 buyers have enrolled for 3 years of unlimited charging at Electrify America DC Fast Chargers across the country and drivers have already charged more than 22 million miles for their ID.4s at Electrify America stations.

    With the goal to further push electric mobility for the American consumer, Volkswagen is preparing its Chattanooga, TN, facilities for the localized production of the ID.4 during 2022.

    Vingroup Starts Construction of EV Battery Factory

    The People’s Committee of Ha Tinh Province and Vingroup officially began construction of the VinES Battery Manufacturing Factory in the Vung Ang Economic Zone Ha Tinh. The facility is backed by VND 4,000 billion (USD 174 million) in investments and is being developed on 8 hectares in its initial phase. The establishment of this factory represents an important milestone in VinFast’s strategy of self-production and supply of batteries with global standards for its electric vehicles. The VinES Battery Manufacturing Factory will provide Lithium batteries for VinFast’s electric cars and buses. In Phase One, the factory will scale 8 hectares, funded by a total investment of more than VND 4,000 billion. The entire infrastructure of the factory, including a casting shop, a welding shop, and a packaging (battery pack) shop, is designed to produce 100,000 battery packs per year. Phase Two of the factory will expand production to include battery cells manufacturing and upgrade capacity to 1 million battery packs per year.

    This very first and most advanced battery plant in Vietnam will be equipped with European and American-standard technologies that boast an astounding workflow automation rate of 80%. Vingroup is also working with strategic partners, include world’s leading companies in pioneering technologies for the production of electric vehicle batteries.

    Vattenfall InCharge Expands Charging Business in Germany

    Vattenfall InCharge and DAS FUTTERHAUS have agreed on a cooperation to set up 170 high-power charging points at almost 70 locations all over Germany. This is an important step towards enabling easier public charging, as interest in electrical vehicles increases.

    DAS FUTTERHAUS will provide customer parking spaces in front of its stores. Vattenfall InCharge is responsible for the planning, construction and operation of the stations. Initially, 85 charging stations with 170 charging points will be installed at approximately 70 locations during 2022 and 2023. The next step in the plan is to equip all of DAS FUTTERHAUS’ more than 400 stores with charging infrastructure.

    The stations will be part of the growing Vattenfall InCharge network across Northern Europe. InCharge currently has 28,000 charge points connected to the network, and provides access to many times more through roaming partners.

    De Duitse Vereniging van de Automobielindustrie (VDA) pleit voor fors meer laadpalen voor elektrische auto's in Duitsland. 'Duitsland loopt extreem achter als het gaat om het uitbreiden van de oplaadinfrastructuur voor e-auto's' zegt Hildegard Müller, hoofd van de vereniging in Frankfürter Allgemeine. Om het geplande aantal e-auto's ook daadwerkelijk te kunnen halen, zouden er wekelijks zo'n 2.000 nieuwe openbare oplaadpunten moeten komen, maar dat zijn er in feite maar 300. 'Het tempo moet verzesvoudigd worden', klinkt het vanuit de industrie.

    Bedrijven als Alfen ALFEN -0,82% en Fastned FAST 0,20% zullen die oproep met interesse volgen.

    Solaris to Deliver Another 48 Trolleybuses to Budapest

    A consortium comprised of Solaris Bus & Coach and Škoda Electric will deliver more trolleybuses to Budapest. 48 Trollino vehicles will be fitted with an additional battery power supply that will allow them to drive without being connected to overhead wires. The new order is another batch covered by a framework agreement signed in 2014. Thanks to this long-term investment, a total of 108 Solaris Trollino buses will soon be cruising the streets of the Hungarian capital. 12 single Trollino 12 and 36 articulated Trollino 18 trolleybuses deliveries are slated to start in autumn 2022. The latest order for 48 vehicles exhausts the number foreseen in the framework agreement concluded in 2014.

    The electric trolleybuses destined for Budapest will be completely low-floor and will boast air-conditioning, a video surveillance system, a reversing camera and a fire extinguishing system. Passenger comfort will be enhanced by modern LED interior lighting. What is more, LED technology will be used for dipped headlights and daytime running lights.

    The Czech manufacturer will supply the electric equipment for the trolleybuses and a set of batteries that will enable the vehicles to cover at least four kilometres without being connected to overhead wires. The 12-metre Trollinos will be equipped with a 160 kW electric motor, while the 18-metre trolleybuses will boast a 250 kW engine.

    Solaris buses and trolleybuses have been present in Hungary since 2002. In 2014, the consortium comprised of Solaris Bus & Coach and Škoda Electric signed a contract with the urban carrier Budapesti Közlekedési Központ Zrt for the delivery of 24 trolleybuses. The tender also included an option to extend the contract by purchasing an additional 84 vehicles in two length variants of 12 and 18 metres. At first, operator BKK ordered an extra 36 trolleybuses. The execution of this order began in 2015. So far a total of 60 trolleybuses have been delivered to Budapest. Currently over 150 of our vehicles ply routes in the Hungarian cities of Budapest, Debrecen, Nyiregyháza and Paks

    DFDS Orders 25 Electric Trucks from Volvo

    Volvo Trucks has received an order for an additional 25 heavy electric trucks from DFDS, Northern Europe’s?largest shipping and logistics company. The new vehicles are on top of the record order of 100 Volvo FM electric trucks that was made in October, adding up to a total of 125 electric trucks for DFDS. Delivery of the vehicles is planned to commence in Q4 2022. The new trucks will be used for transports in the DFDS logistics system in Europe.

    With a Volvo FM Electric truck, it is possible to drive up to 500 km during a workday, with a fast top-up charge, for example during the lunch break. The Volvo FM Electric has a gross combination weight of up to 44 tons and can be charged both overnight at the home-depot and via high power fast charging on route.

    Volvo Trucks started serial production of electric trucks in 2019, as one of the very first truck brands to do so. The product range now includes six electric truck models – the Volvo FH, Volvo FM, Volvo FMX, Volvo FE, Volvo FL and the Volvo VNR, sold in North America.

    Of the electric trucks (16 tonnes and heavier) registered in Europe so far this year, Volvo Trucks has a market share of just over 40%.

    BMW creëert tot 6.000 extra jobs in 2022

    De Duitse autogroep BMW is van plan volgend jaar tot 6.000 extra banen te creëren om zich voor te bereiden op de groeiende vraag naar elektrische wagens. Dat zegt CEO Oliver Zipse in een interview met de Münchner Merkur. Hij merkt op dat de fabrieken van BMW klaar zijn voor e-mobiliteit. 'Daarom zullen we het aantal personeelsleden met maximaal 5 procent verhogen.'

    BrightDrop Starts Delivery of Electric Vehicles to FedEx

    BrightDrop has delivered the first five of 500 electric light commercial vehicles to FedEx, the first customer to the receive the EV600s, which are the fastest built vehicles, from concept to market, in General Motors history. The introduction of BrightDrop’s all-electric, zero tailpipe-emissions vehicles into the FedEx fleet is an important step in the company’s goal to take its global operations carbon neutral by 2040.

    The EV600 combines the best attributes of a traditional and a step-in van into one vehicle, keeping driver safety, comfort and convenience top of mind.

    Man man
    Ligt het eindelaarsdiner nog op uw maag of ben jij nog een zware kater aan het verwerken misschien.
    Dat zal waarschijnlijk nog erger worden voor jou als de beurs maandag met een flink hogere X-peng koers zal aanvatten.
    Aan iedereen een geweldig mooi X-Peng 2022 gewenst.

    De Chinese bouwers van electrische auto s kwamen met hun maandelijkse opgave. NIO(10000), Li(14000) en Xpeng(16000). Wereldmarktleider Tesla een gemiddelde van ruim 100000. Op kwartaalbasis 308000.
    Het chiptekort zal tot zeker 30 Juni aanhouden , zeggen kenners. M.n Chinese autobouwers moeten de chips onder elkaar verdelen?
    De president van China heeft vorig jaar al opgeroepen tot consolidatie. Fusies? Teveel electrische automakers in China? Wordt de spoeling dun. Remt groei afzonderlijke bedrijven.

    Arrival Starts Trials of Electric Bus with FirstBus in UK

    Electric vehicles pioneer Arrival has started trials of the Arrival Bus at a testing facility in the UK. The vehicles will be going through rigorous validation and testing ahead of certification. This is a key milestone for Arrival, ahead of EU certification and public road trials next year. Following proving ground trials, Arrival will commence public road trials of the Bus with First Bus, one of the UK’s largest transport operators, in Q1 2022. The trials will see Arrival’s vehicles operating on existing First Bus routes in the UK. Arrival is expected to begin production for the Bus in Q2 2022.

    The Arrival Bus is creating a new and improved public transportation experience for all users, from the drivers and passengers to the engineers, cleaners, and fleet owners, and reducing costs for operators, making the transition to electric vehicles more economically viable. The vehicle takes advantage of Arrival’s software ecosystem, enabling full connectivity, digital customisation, and deep access to vehicle behaviour and data. The vehicle can be tailored to meet local cities’ needs with its modular design, which enables configuration of length, range, battery, and passenger capacity.

    The first Arrival Bus features up to three doors, with flexible passenger seating capacity across the entire flat floor allowing for greater accessibility, as well as creating more usable standing space and the ability for passengers to travel more comfortably. The vehicle also has wrap-around exterior and interior screens, adaptable lighting, transparent roof and a suite of digital features.

    The Bus uses in-house components that are also found on the Arrival Van and Car, and Arrival’s lightweight recyclable composite materials. This, alongside common suspension and the wheels and tires at front and rear, means the Bus is estimated to be lighter than other battery-electric buses in the market today.
