    ABBVIE TO ADVANCE ONCE-DAILY ABT-494 TO PHASE 3 IN RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS BY YEAR-END

    - ABBVIE TO OPT-OUT OF COLLABORATION WITH GALAPAGOS ON FILGOTINIB

    NORTH CHICAGO, Ill., Sept. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- AbbVie (NYSE:ABBV), a global biopharmaceutical company, today announced that it will advance ABT-494, its internally developed investigational selective JAK1 inhibitor, to Phase 3 studies in rheumatoid arthritis. Following a thorough review of available data, AbbVie will not exercise its right to in-license the Galapagos JAK1 inhibitor, filgotinib.

    "We believe ABT-494 has the potential to become a best-in-class therapy for patients," said Michael Severino, M.D., executive vice president, research and development and chief scientific officer, AbbVie. "In our view, ABT-494 also offers a faster path to Phase 3 development with less uncertainty."

    Per the terms of the agreement with Galapagos, all rights to filgotinib will revert solely to Galapagos.

    Galapagos zou dit toch moeten voorzien? Ze weten dat AbbVie met ABT-494 bezig zijn en het liefst willen ze hun eigen product de markt op brengen. Gala zou dan toch wel een persbericht alvast klaar hebben liggen voor dit speciale geval...

    Ben ik blij dat ik pas nog op 57.30 een plukje verkocht had. Had ik nu maar de hele bups verkocht...

    46.5 is de nieuwe weerstand tenzij Gala met een heel goed bericht komt.

    Ik gun iedereen het beste, maar heb zelf de helft van mijn porto verkocht met zwaar verlies natuurlijk. De andere helft hou ik vast, mochten ze overgenomen worden of zelfstandig doorgaan KAN de koers flink stijgen en heb ik mijn verlies goedgemaakt. Voor hetzelfde komt er een emissie.

    Dit zal voor GLPG toch ook een verrassend besluit zijn.

    wat de uitleg van ''onno'' betreft, hij heeft het hier al over gehad: als abbvie er niet mee door gaat zijn er andere geïnteresseerden. hiermee impliciet aangegeven het is niet ondenkbaar dat abbvie de licentie niet neemt.

    Enerzijds zou je kunnen zeggen: nu kan glpg betere voorwaarden bedingen, we zijn immers verder en de resultaten zijn niet mis. (ik durf wel aan te nemen dat abbvies beslissing een commerciële is, in die inhoudelijke discussie is dat besproken)

    anderzijds zal glpg nou misschien niet bepaald vanuit een super sterke positie aan de onderhandelingstafel zitten.

    gewoon flink klote dit en toont wel aan voor alle die hards: niet voor 100 procent in 1 aandeel zitten.

    wat betekend dit voor crohn ?
