Als je wat cash zou willen wegzetten voor een goed rendement tegen een acceptabel risicoprofiel: Seadrill

Koers is de afgelopen tijd behoorlijk gedaald (van 47 naar 32). Oorzaken :
    1. terughoudendheid investeringen oliebedrijven
    2. houdbaarheid van het dividend

Punt 1 is tijdelijk.

Seadrill offers an incredible 11.5% dividend yield. This is hard to ignore and investors looking to add yield to their portfolio may want to consider Seadrill. I've changed my tune on Seadrill recently based on its current price and outlook on sustaining its dividend. With the recent decline in its stock price to around $34/share the company has a P/E of just 6.3. This is a good entry point for investors wanting to limit downside exposure. In a market where finding value is extremely difficult, Seadrill offers too many positives to not be considered undervalued here. While the company is highly leveraged and only 3 of its 20 rigs under construction have long-term contracts, its $20.2 billion backlog is more than enough to sustain its quarterly dividend of $0.98 in the short-term. Of the $20.2 billion in backlog, the floater fleet represents $15.5 billion, the jack-up fleet represents $4.2 billion and tender units represent $500 million. In 2014, the floater fleet is 96% contracted and 17 of the 23 jack-ups have contracts extended past 2014. This makes the 2014 dividend almost untouchable.

As an operator Seadrill is the best of breed among large rig lessors, with the youngest and most deepwater-oriented fleet. Therefore, I believe that the decline in Seadrill's share price, not only on a relative basis but also on an absolute one, represents a great value opportunity here.

UPDATE 1-Rosneft says may take controlling stake in Norway's Seadrill

    Sat May 24, 2014 12:33pm EDT

(Adds Sechin's comment on Seadrill, detail)

    * Rosneft may increase stake in Seadrill to 50 pct -Sechin

    * Rosneft, Seadrill spin-off to team up in Russia

    * Deal may value North Atlantic Drilling at $2 bln -Interfax

ST PETERSBURG, Russia/OSLO, May 24 (Reuters) - Russia's Rosneft could buy a controlling stake in the world's largest offshore driller, Norway's Seadrill, after saying it was in talks to acquire a significant stake in Seadrill subsidiary North Atlantic Drilling.

The announcement comes as Rosneft and North Atlantic Drilling signed a cooperation agreement on Saturday, one of several deals announced by Russia's largest oil firm during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, showing the keenness of multinationals to do business with Russia despite tensions over Ukraine.

The agreement is also a coup for Norwegian-born tycoon John Fredriksen, one of the world's richest men, who controls Seadrill and North Atlantic Drilling, as it gives him access to the Russian exploration market on a large scale.

"The agreement contemplates Rosneft acquiring a significant stake in North Atlantic Drilling Ltd. with the latter entering Russia's onshore drilling market, and signing of long-term contracts for onshore and offshore drilling," Rosneft said in a statement on Saturday.

Separately, Rosneft boss Igor Sechin told the Rossiya 24 TV channel his firm could take a stake of up to 50 percent in Seadrill over time, suggesting Fredriksen may further expand his reach in Russia.

"We're becoming Seadrill shareholders. At this stage we're discussing combining our service company RN Bureniye with Seadrill and handing it some of our orders. In time we could increase our stake to 50 percent," Sechin was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency.

Seadrill is the world's biggest offshore oil driller by market capitalisation, ahead of Transocean. Fredriksen, nicknamed "Big Wolf" for his business instincts, is Seadrill's largest shareholder with a stake of 24.54 percent.

Seadrill is the crown jewel in Fredriksen's business empire, that ranges from shipping to fish farming.

    NORTH ATLANTIC DRILLING DEAL

North Atlantic Drilling specialises in drilling in harsh environments like the Arctic. Seadrill spun it off and listed it on the New York Stock Exchange in January. At the time, the initial public offering raised $125 million.

The partnership agreement involves developing Rosneft's offshore and onshore projects until at least 2022.

Rosneft provided no further details, but Interfax reported the deal could value North Atlantic Drilling's capitalisation at around $2 billion.

"We have sought to access the growth opportunity represented by the Russian market for several years, and we are very pleased to have reached an agreement with Rosneft for this landmark transaction," North Atlantic Drilling CEO Alf Ragnar Lovdal said in the statement. Dat zijn nog eens deals zeg !!

Seadrill (SDRL) signs a five-year, $1.1B contract with Total (TOT) for work offshore Nigeria for SDRL's newly built ultra-deepwater West Jupiter drillship.

The West Jupiter is one of eight 6th generation drillships currently under construction for SDRL and is expected to be delivered from the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea this August.

The deal is worth ~$600K/day, including mobilization, according to Reuters calculations.
