Wel eens in de U.K. geweest in dejaren 70? Geteisterd door stakingen van dat linkse gespuis. Mensen konden niet eens hun dode begraven. Dankzij M. Zij deed wat nodig was en ze deed het met overtuiging.

Kan de huidige mijnheer die M.P is in Nederland een punt aan zuigen. Weet zijn naam even niet meer...

Ik ga volgende week naar Londen, mijn respect tonen voor een groot leider. Eentje waar de wereld er meer van zou moeten hebben.

Boris Johnson, the Conservative mayor of London and our columnist says Lady Thatcher's legacy "speaks powerfully to every politician in Britain today."

It is impossible to imagine that the death of any other British politician could produce such a reaction. I mean no disrespect to the memory of these worthy servants of the people, but do you remember anything much about the passing of Edward Heath? Of Harold Wilson? Of Jim Callaghan? I rest my case.

It is now almost a quarter of a century since she was deposed by yellow-bellied members of her own party, and there must be people under 25 who can’t understand, frankly, what all the fuss is about. So I want to explain what Margaret Hilda Thatcher meant for people of my generation, and what we mean when we say that she changed this country and the world.

She was the greatest Prime Minister since Winston Churchill, we say – and the comparison is apt, because she was as brave as Churchill; indeed, you could argue that she was even more combative than the wartime leader, more willing to pick a fight on a matter of principle.

Peter Oborne says with her death, Margaret Thatcher joins the ranks of the immortals.

The death of Lady Thatcher will have immediate political consequences for David Cameron and the Conservatives. The tributes to her memory and the recollections of her achievements will remind the party not just of what it has lost, but of what it lacks. The reaction to her passing, however much it has been anticipated, will no doubt surprise us by its intensity.

Those who loved her will draw our attention to how she bulldozed her way past the prejudices of her time to a position of such command.

Those who loathed her will recall the divisiveness that undoubtedly marked her premiership, but also the unique skills that defined her as a leader.

She confounded the Marxist view of history as a process of inevitable forces, and taught us just how much an individual can achieve by will alone. Whether against the miners, the IRA, Europe, the defeatists who were prepared to surrender the Falklands, or above all the monstrosity of Soviet tyranny, her capacity to say "no, no, no" set an example for the nation and for her party.
