    Hydro Joins Polestar 0 for Climate-Neutral Car

    Swedish electric car maker Polestar has vowed to create a truly climate-neutral car by 2030. Hydro joins Polestar as a materials partner to explore how aluminium can contribute to realizing the Polestar 0 project. Hydro is one of the leading automotive industry suppliers that are joining forces with Polestar in its development of a truly climate-neutral car, the Polestar 0. Polestar is now working to gather some of the world’s leading suppliers of materials to the automotive industry, including aluminium.

    Hydro has many years’ experience in supplying car makers with hydropower-based low-carbon Hydro REDUXA aluminium, but the Polestar 0 project will require zero-carbon footprint aluminium. Hydro’s experts will now collaborate with Polestar on defining joint R&D programs and explore specific aluminium alloys needed for the vehicle.

    Hydro will apply technologies defined in the companies’ technology roadmap to zero emission aluminium production to supply Polestar and also address end-of-life recycling of the car.

    By replacing combustion engines with electric engines, the emissions from the use-phase of vehicles can be reduced to nearly zero, if the car is charged with renewable energy. The next step is to focus on the materials, how they are manufactured, renewable energy throughout the supply chain and how the vehicle can be taken apart and recycled after the end of its life.

    Volgens mij wordt er nu een deadline genoemd vwb de merger.

    De merger zal gewoonlijk ruim vóór deze deadline zijn.
    Logisch zou zijn dat de bekendmaking van deze datum eind van deze maand plaats vindt.

    Mijn idee, kijkend naar de laatste filings. 3 stuks zijn al ingediend. De 4e moet nog en dan krijg je de feinitieve filing....

    Planning filings, denk ik:
    - '4th revision': rond 15 maart (volgende week)
    - 'definitive filing': rond 22 maart.
    - 'merger meeting': ergens in april.
    Eind maar verwacht ik de communicatie wanneer de merger gaat plaats vinden.
    Geduld dus.

    They are registering Polestar common shares, warrants, and pref shares for trade in the USA. Remember Polestar is domiciled in the UK. That means just like you buy ADRs for companies outside of the US

    De Polestar 2 is er sinds een klein half jaar in twee uitvoeringen: de Single en de Dual Motor. De Dual Motor beschikt over twee elektromotoren en in het eerste jaar dat het model op de markt was had je geen keuze, een Polestar 2 was dan altijd een Dual Motor. Met die 300 kW sterke aandrijflijn komt de Polestar 2 heel snel van zijn plek maar hoeveel energie verbruikt deze EV? Die vraag beantwoorden we in deze aflevering van ‘zo ver komt’.

    De eerste langere test bij AutoWeek vond plaats onder ideale omstandigheden voor een elektrische auto. Droog, zonnig weer, 19 graden en geen harde wind. In de vergelijkende test tegen de Tesla Model 3, een van de zuinigste EV’s op de markt, kwam de Polestar 2 tot 21,5 kWh per 100 kilometer en dat leverde een range van 390 kilometer op. Dat is weliswaar lager dan de 470 kilometer van de fabrieksopgave, maar het is netjes. Uiteraard steekt het schril af tegen de waarde die we in die test met de Model 3 Performance haalden, 16,5 kWh/100 km. Maar we hebben het in deze rubriek altijd over één auto, en niet over meerdere concurrenten binnen een segment.

    Afgelopen winter was de Polestar 2 Dual Motor weer te gast op de redactie, en hoewel dat geen vergelijkende test was zoals de hierboven beschreven vergelijking, merkten we dat het verbruik toenam tot meer dan 25 kWh/100 kilometer. Dan zakt de range ver onder de 350 kilometer. Het was in december zo rond de 5 graden.

    Zelden onder 20 kWh/100 km
    Een duik in de gebruikersreviews leert dat maar weinig Polestar 2-rijders uitkomen op een verbruik van minder dan 20 kWh. Deze rustig rijdende bestuurder lukte het, en wel tijdens een vakantierit naar Zuid-Frankrijk. Dan zit er meer dan 400 kilometer in het accuvat. Een enthousiaste reviewer die de 408 pk regelmatige de vrije teugels geeft, noteert in de winter 250 tot 270 kilometer en in de zomer 350 tot 360 kilometer.

    Het valt op dat veel reviewers vooral over de indrukwekkende prestaties, het uiterlijk en het Google Android-multimediasysteem schrijven, het verbruik en de actieradius komen minder aan bod dan bij reviews van andere elektrische auto’s. Nu scheelt het natuurlijk dat de Dual Motor met zijn 78 kWh-accupakket zelfs bij 25 kWh per 100 kilometer nog wel een zeer bruikbare actieradius heeft, maar als 'zuinig bestempelt niemand het opvallende model. En dat sluit dus aan bij onze ervaringen met deze EV.

    Nee, klopt.
    Wachten.
    Het zal niet lang meer duren dat de communicatie plaats vindt. Communicatie kan een voorlopige stijging betekenen.

    Stocktwits is een gekkenhuis en trending is hoog. Op twitter word je ook kapotgegooid met berichten.

Available to order online at Polestar.com, the single-motor Polestar 2 features an accessible starting price of $45,900, or as low as $33,400 after qualified federal and state incentives*.

    In addition to being the lowest priced vehicle in the Polestar lineup, this latest model’s EPA estimated 270-mile range** is the brand’s longest, all while offering the same standard features as the high-performance dual-motor Polestar 2. This includes the world’s first infotainment system powered by Android Automotive OS with Google built-in, a premium vegan interior, and Polestar’s renowned chassis tuning.

    Het is een kwestie van tijd.

    Feit is dat GGPI momenteel stabiel blijft zweven rond de $11.40 - $11.60. Opvallend ook de laatste dagen: begin van de dag zakken (tot 2%) en op het einde van de dag weer bijtrekken naar een kleine plus.
    Kijkend naar mijn ervaring met andere SPACs vraag ik me ook af of we voor de merger nog een piek krijgen (Twitter, Reddit en Stocktwits leden zeggen natuurlijk van wel). Een eerste piek hebben we al maanden geleden gehad (rond de $16) en normaal is het dat dan.
    Meestal (in het verleden bij die SPACs) volgt dan een tweede piek ná de merger (GGPI -> PSNY). Zo ging het vaak in het verleden, maar de SPAC wereld is niet meer zoals in 2020.

    Ander feit is wel:
    - Polestar heeft al 2 auto's op de weg (Polestar 1 hybride, Polestar 2 elektrisch)
    - Verkopen gaan goed: 29000 (2021), streven 65000 (2022)
    - Ze verkopen wereldwijd en breiden dit uit.
    - Fabrieken staan wereldwijd en komen erbij.
    - Polestar 3 - 4 - 5 komen er aan binnen nu en 2 jaren en daarna nog meer....
    - Samenwerking met NVIDIA, Google en Northvolt e.m.
    - Tevens een bedrijf met een uitstraling, visie (100% duurzaam) en een stijl.
    Dus een goed (lopend) en gezond bedrijf.
    Theoretisch een voorwaarde voor beleggers om hier in te investeren.
    Als na de merger Polestar de beurs betreedt, zou het theoretisch niet anders kunnen dat er een positieve reactie op dit aandeel plaats vindt.
    Het is allemaal theorie, maar de feiten liegen er niet om.
