September 7, 2021 – Vancouver, British Columbia – Kodiak Copper Corp. (the "Company" or “Kodiak”) (TSX-V: KDK, OTCQB: KDKCF, Frankfurt: 5DD1) provides an update on its fully funded drill program at its 100% owned MPD copper-gold porphyry project (“MPD”) in Southern British Columbia.

Kodiak is undertaking a substantial, fully-funded exploration program at MPD in 2021, including up to 30,000 metres of drilling with two drill rigs, geotechnical studies, prospecting, geophysical, geochemical and environmental surveying. The program is progressing well and remains on budget.

    Highlights
    • Drilling in 2021 to date at the Gate Zone has extended the north-south extent of prospective sulphide-bearing, altered porphyritic host rock from 125 metres to 950 metres (see Figure 1). Significant copper-gold mineralization at Gate has been intersected across 350 metres in width (east-west) and to a depth 800 metres, being open in all directions
    • 25 holes totalling 13,600 metres have been completed as of September 1 with two drill rigs operating to the end of the 2021 program
    • Drilling will continue to infill and systematically evaluate the one kilometre long copper-in-soil anomaly at Gate, which lies central to a regional magnetic low that spans three kilometres to the Man target area to the south
    • The high priority Dillard target exhibits similar copper-in-soil anomalies, geophysical responses and encouraging historic drilling like the Gate Zone. Dillard will be drill-tested in Q4 as part of the 2021 program
    • 1,755 soil geochemical samples were collected on three grids, mostly within a five square kilometre area that joins the south end of the Gate Zone to the historic Man target area
    • Field work at MPD included geological mapping, prospecting (55 rock samples) and geotechnical studies. Additional plans for 2021 include geophysical surveying and trenching before year end
    • All samples are being shipped to ALS Canada Ltd. in North Vancouver, British Columbia for preparation and final analysis. Assay results from drilling, soils and rock will be reported throughout the remainder of 2021 and onwards. Lab throughput times have increased significantly and the Company expects to release the next set of drill results in late September or October
    • Kodiak directly engaged with various First Nations whose traditional territory includes the MPD Project
    • Prior to any ground disturbance, Heritage Field Reconnaissance Surveys were carried out by archaeological consultants NNTC/A.E.W LP and other First Nation representatives
    • The Company engaged Hemmera Envirochem Inc. (Ausenco) to design and implement a multi-phased Environmental Work Plan that includes water quality, migratory/nesting bird, species at risk and incidental wildlife surveys
    • Kodiak remediated historic drill sites on the property and performs progressive reclamation at new drill pads that include cementing all holes, land recontouring and revegetation (see Figure 2)

Kodiak Drills 105 m of 0.76% CuEq within 504 m of 0.47% CuEq at Gate Zone, Begins Drilling Dillard Copper Porphyry Target

October 18, 2021 – Vancouver, British Columbia – Kodiak Copper Corp. (the "Company" or “Kodiak”) (TSX-V: KDK, OTCQB: KDKCF, Frankfurt: 5DD1) today reports drill results at the 100% owned MPD copper-gold porphyry project in southern British Columbia.

Nine new Gate Zone drill holes are presented in this release. These holes 1) define additional mineralization towards the centre of the zone, and 2) expand the margins of the zone to the south, and west. The Gate Zone porphyry target remains open to extension in multiple directions.

One of Kodiak’s two drill rigs at MPD has been relocated to the Dillard copper-gold porphyry target, while one rig remains at the Gate Zone.

Kodiak’s ongoing exploration at MPD includes drilling with two rigs, prospecting-mapping, trenching, geophysical, geochemical and environmental surveying. The fully funded 2021 program is progressing well and remains on budget.

    Central Gate Zone

Three new drill holes completed along approximately 500 metres of strike length underlying the central Gate Zone copper-in-soil target once again intersected significant grades and interval lengths of copper-gold mineralization. Results are shown in Table 1 and Figures 2, 3.

    Highlights include:

    New drill hole MPD-21-016 intersected 105 metres of 0.50% Cu, 0.39 g/t Au and 1.57 g/t Ag (0.76% CuEq*) within a broader 504 metre interval of 0.37% Cu, 0.15 g/t Au and 1.11 g/t Ag (0.47% CuEq*) Figure 4A
Hole MPD-21-016 was mineralized from near surface at 21 metres to 720 metres downhole (699 metres) and represents the third best hole drilled by Kodiak to date (Cu% grade x width)
    New drill hole MPD-21-012 intersected 108 metres of 0.45% Cu, 0.09 g/t Au and 0.59 g/t Ag (0.51% CuEq*) within a broader 243 metre interval of 0.31% Cu, 0.08 g/t Au and 0.35 g/t Ag (0.36% CuEq*) Figure 4B
    New drill hole MPD-21-024 intersected 42 metres of 0.32% Cu, 0.34 g/t Au and 1.56 g/t Ag (0.55% CuEq*) within a broader 447 metre interval of 0.21% Cu, 0.11 g/t Au and 0.72 g/t Ag (0.29% CuEq*) Figure 5A

    Drilling Gate Zone Margins

Six new drill holes targeted the pyrite-dominated envelope surrounding higher grade mineralization, to help define the dimensions of the Gate Zone porphyry centre. Results are shown in Table 1 and Figures 2, 3.

Two of these new drill holes intersected significant gold mineralization within quartz-carbonate veins and structurally-controlled quartz-sericite-pyrite alteration zones on the eastern and western margins of the Gate Zone:
Drill hole MPD-21-015 intersected 6.0 metres of 2.40 g/t gold
Drill hole MPD-21-011 intersected 3.5 metres of 3.58 g/t gold
Gold-rich pyrite dominant mineralization is a common feature of the outer margins of copper-porphyry systems and identifies potential new gold-rich drill targets at the Gate Zone
Five of the six drill holes intersected anomalous to low-grade copper gold mineralization with pyrite dominating over chalcopyrite over significant widths. Highlights include:
    Drill hole MPD-21-007 intersected 132 metres of 0.15% Cu, 0.08 g/t gold and 0.43 g/t silver (0.21% CuEq*) Figure 5B
    Drill hole MPD-21-013 intersected 318 metres of 0.14% Cu, 0.06 g/t gold and 0.13 g/t silver (0.20% CuEq*)
Ongoing systematic drilling at the Gate Zone has successfully intersected porphyry-related mineralization and host lithology along 950 metres of strike, having the depth (850 metres) and width (350 metres) typical of other multi-centre copper porphyry deposits in British Columbia
The results from the pyrite-dominated envelope are of similar interval lengths and grades to historical drill results elsewhere at the MPD project. The Gate Zone was discovered by further testing adjacent to and below historic intervals, which are now shown to surround a significantly higher-grade core. These results highlight the prospective nature of other areas such as the Dillard. Man and Axe targets, which generally lack deeper drilling

    Dillard Target Drilling

The high priority Dillard target exhibits similar copper-in-soil anomalies, geophysical responses and encouraging historic drilling to the Gate Zone. Dillard will be drill-tested during the remainder of Q4 as part of the 2021 program. Like at the Gate Zone, most historic drilling at Dillard was shallow. See 3D model of drilling at Gate, Dillard and Man in Figure 6.

Historic drilling at Dillard intersected anomalous copper over significant widths. It rarely tested below 350m depth and mineralized potential remains open in all directions
Historic soil surveys at Dillard outlined a 600 x 1500 metre area with anomalous copper and gold
Kodiak’s 2020 ZTEM airborne survey identified a regional magnetic low (1000 x 1000 metre) and large resistivity anomaly at depth, below historic drilling, and copper in soil anomalies
The Dillard target area is underlain by dioritic rocks displaying porphyry-style alteration (potassic and calcic), a “pyrite-halo” from mapped geology and copper-gold mineralization associated with altered volcanic and intrusive rocks

    Ongoing Exploration Program

34 holes (18,724 metres) have been drilled as of October 17 and assay results will be reported throughout the remainder of 2021 and onwards; delays in lab throughput times continue
The Company expects to achieve between 20,000 – 25,000 metres of drilling before year-end
Additional plans in Q4 include a DC Resistivity/Induced Polarization (3DIP) and Magnetotelluric (MT) geophysical survey at the Gate Zone conducted by SJ Geophysics Ltd.
Results from 1,755 soil samples, and 176 rock samples from prospecting and trenching will be reported throughout the remainder of 2021 and onwards
The Company expects to achieve between 20,000 – 25,000 metres of drilling before year-end
A large exploration program is planned for 2022 and drilling will continue in Q1 2022. The program will include assessing the three kilometres regional magnetic low between the Gate and Man target areas, follow up drilling at Dillard, testing analogous targets elsewhere across MPD and initiating work on the newly acquired Axe Property. The Axe property overlies significant geophysical targets with similar signatures to Kodiak’s Gate Zone discovery, and historical copper results in drill core, soils, and rock samples.

Claudia Tornquist, President and CEO of Kodiak said, “The Gate Zone keeps delivering impressive drill results and I am very pleased with the progress of our work to date. Kudos to our technical team for executing successfully the largest ever exploration program at MPD, despite unusually challenging weather conditions this year. The Gate Zone discovery is only the first step of our exploration strategy. It proves our district scale approach and provides a road map for other target areas at what we believe is a multi-centre porphyry system at MPD. We will now replicate our successful approach at the Dillard Zone this year and I am looking forward to testing several further interpreted porphyry centres with a large drill program in 2022.”

Kodiak Drills 126 m of 0.87% CuEq within 537 m of 0.45% CuEq at Gate Zone

December 14, 2021 – Vancouver, British Columbia – Kodiak Copper Corp. (the "Company" or “Kodiak”) (TSX-V: KDK, OTCQB: KDKCF, Frankfurt: 5DD1) today reports drill results from the 100% owned MPD copper-gold porphyry project in southern British Columbia.

Results from three new drill holes at the Gate Zone are presented in this release. Holes drilled in 2021 continue to highlight significant copper-gold grades over substantial intervals central to the Gate Zone. The Gate Zone porphyry target remains open to extension in multiple directions.

Highlights (complete results are shown in Table 1 and Figures 2 and 3):
    • 126 metres of 0.72% Cu, 0.21 g/t Au and 2.95 g/t Ag (0.87% CuEq*) within a broader 537 metre interval of 0.37% Cu, 0.11 g/t Au and 1.40 g/t Ag (0.45% CuEq*) in new drill hole MPD-21-018 - Figure 4A
    • 111 metres of 0.53% Cu, 0.34 g/t Au and 1.84 g/t Ag (0.76% CuEq*) within a broader 432 metre interval of 0.27% Cu, 0.13 g/t Au and 0.78 g/t Ag (0.35% CuEq*) in new drill hole MPD-21-026 - Figure 4B
    • 81 metres of 0.31% Cu, 0.13 g/t Au and 1.41 g/t Ag (0.40% CuEq*) within a broader 297 metre interval of 0.23% Cu, 0.10 g/t Au and 0.89 g/t Ag (0.30% CuEq*) in new drill hole MPD-21-017 - Figure 4C
    • In 2021, drilled 21,675 metres in 36 holes, two of which were Kodiak’s first holes at the Dillard copper-gold porphyry target located 2.5 kilometres south-east of the Gate Zone (Dillard results pending)
    • Systematic drilling at the Gate Zone in 2021 continues to intersect porphyry-related mineralization and host lithology along 950 metres of strike, having the depth (850 metres) and width (350 metres) typical of other multi-centre copper porphyry deposits in British Columbia
    • A large drill program of approximately 25,000 additional metres is planned for 2022 to further evaluate Gate and advance other high-priority targets in the Dillard, Man and Axe areas. These prospects exhibit similar regional geophysical and geochemical anomalies, with near-surface mineralization reported from historic trenches and drilling
Claudia Tornquist, President and CEO of Kodiak said,

“We are very pleased with the impressive drill results that keep coming from the Gate Zone, and excited to have our first holes into the Dillard target. The progress the Company made this year, despite challenging weather and operational conditions, sets the stage for continued drilling in multiple areas and another large program in 2022. Kodiak is well funded and we will continue with our district scale exploration approach at MPD to reveal the property’s true potential for multi-centred porphyry systems.”.

    Ongoing Exploration

    Throughout Q1 2022 Kodiak will report on outstanding drill results and other 2021 field work, including;
    • Results from 12 holes remaining from 36 drilled in 2021 (21,675 metres). Results from 24 holes have been reported to date.
    • Results from 1,755 soil samples, and 176 rock samples from prospecting and trenching.
    • 19.8 line kilometres of DC Resistivity- 3D Induced Polarization (IP) and Magnetotelluric (MT) geophysical surveying at the Gate Zone conducted by SJ Geophysics Ltd.
A large exploration program is planned for 2022, with field work and drilling resuming in Q1 2022 and approximately 25,000 metres of additional drilling before year-end. Preparatory work in late 2021 involved heritage surveys in specific target areas to allow work during the winter months. The Company has a multi-year, area-based exploration permit that authorizes new drill sites and expanded exploration activity across the MPD property to 2026. The 2022 program will include assessing the three kilometre regional magnetic low between the Gate and Man target areas, follow up drilling at Dillard, testing analogous targets elsewhere across MPD and initiating work on the newly acquired Axe Property. The Axe property overlies significant geophysical targets with similar signatures to Kodiak’s Gate Zone discovery, and historical copper results in drill core, soils, and rock samples.

    Dillard Target Drilling

Drilling in 2021 focused primarily on testing the northern and southern extents of the Gate Zone. In addition, drilling commenced in autumn at the Dillard target and two holes were completed. The Dillard Target area will be further tested in 2022. It has many attributes similar to the Gate Zone (see 3D model of drilling at Gate, Dillard and Man, Figure 5) including:
    • Anomalous copper over significant widths in historic drilling and trenching, but rarely testing below 350 metres depth.
    • Anomalous copper and gold in historic soil surveys defining a broad 600 x 1500 metre target area.
    • A regional magnetic low (1000 x 1000 metre) and large resistivity anomaly at depth, identified by Kodiak’s 2020 ZTEM airborne survey and below historic ground geophysical anomalies.
    • Mapped geology highlighting prospective volcanic and intrusive rocks displaying porphyry-style alteration (potassic and calcic) and a “pyrite-halo” associated with copper-gold mineralization

Kodiak Identifies New Geophysical Drill Targets Near Gate Zone

New York, New York--(Newsfile Corp. - February 3, 2022) - Kodiak Copper Corp. (TSXV: KDK) (OTCQB: KDKCF) (FSE: 5DD1) (the "Company" or "Kodiak") today reports results of ground geophysical and soil geochemical surveys from the 100% owned 147km2 MPD copper-gold porphyry project in southern British Columbia.

    Highlights

3D Induced Polarization (3D IP) geophysical and soil geochemical surveys conducted in 2021 have identified new high-priority drill targets in the Gate Zone area and detected three new kilometre-scale copper-gold geochemical trends on the MPD project.

A new one kilometre long parallel "look-alike" 3D IP response similar to the response of copper-gold mineralization drilled at Gate has been identified 600 metres to the southeast of the Gate Zone (figures 1 and 2).

Conductive 3D IP anomalies traced to depth highlight potential extensions of Gate Zone mineralization along strike and down plunge to the south and southeast (figures 1 and 2).

Results from the 2021 soil geochemical survey highlight three new kilometre-scale copper-gold target areas in the Gate, Man and Dillard areas (figure 3). Prospecting results from 2021 have also identified new prospects. These new target areas will be followed up in 2022.

A large drill program of approximately 25,000 metres is planned for 2022 to further evaluate Gate and advance other high-priority targets in the Dillard, Man and Axe areas. These prospects exhibit similar regional geophysical and geochemical anomalies, with near-surface mineralization reported from historic trenches and drilling.

Claudia Tornquist, President and CEO of Kodiak said, "We are very pleased with the results from our geophysics survey which has given us compelling targets that have never been drilled. The geophysical data indicates possible extensions of the Gate Zone, which highlights the potential to further extend the mineralization at Gate substantially. Even more exciting is the large look-alike geophysical anomaly just a short distance to the east, which represents an entirely new drill target of significant size. The new geophysical data correlates exceptionally well with our drill results so we now have an invaluable tool to target our drilling even more effectively. 2022 could hold a game-changing discovery as we are replicating our successful approach from the Gate Zone at other new and historic target areas like Prime, Dillard, Man and Axe, and continue to uncover a district-scale, multi-centred porphyry system at MPD."

Deeper 3D IP geophysical surveys were undertaken in 2021 to identify new targets similar to the Gate Zone high-grade copper-gold discovery as Kodiak interprets the MPD property as hosting a shallowly-eroded porphyry-related copper-gold mineralized system, where higher-grade mineralization may be more fully preserved at depth.

The new data identified geophysical drill targets near the Gate Zone that are more extensive than indicated by historic shallow IP data, supporting Kodiak's exploration thesis.

Conductive and chargeability anomalies validate the interpreted and untested plunge of the Gate Zone to the east-southeast based on drilling, which may represent undrilled extensions to the zone. The 3D IP data also highlights a potential, undrilled connection between the Gate Zone and Prime target.

None of these new 3D IP geophysical targets have been tested to date. These prospective porphyry-style targets will be included as part of the 2022 drill campaign.

The 3D IP data corelates exceptionally well with drilled copper-gold mineralization at Gate, particularly the higher-grade zones which correspond to conductive responses (resistivity lows) and chargeability trends.

3D IP will be a valuable tool to for future drilling at Prime, Man, Dillard, Axe and other target areas on the property, particularly in areas with shallow copper and gold demonstrated in historic work.

3D Induced Polarization Survey (3D IP)

In October 2021, Kodiak contracted SJ Geophysics Ltd. to conduct the first deep DC Resistivity/Induced Polarization (3DIP) survey on the MPD Project. The survey consisted of 19.8 line kilometres covering a 1.6 x 2.0 kilometre area centred on the Gate copper-gold porphyry zone and historic Prime target. Based on the survey configuration, the 3D IP survey data is interpreted to a depth of 500 metres. The survey also included a Magnetotelluric (MT) survey simultaneous with the IP survey. The benefit of the MT survey is deeper penetration that will provide a link to the ZTEM airborne data collected by Kodiak in 2020.

Historic shallow IP suggested a correlation of higher grade copper-gold mineralization at Gate with north easterly trending structures or zones defined by conductivity (low resistivity) and chargeability anomalies. The purpose of the new 3D IP survey was to characterise the geophysical response of drilled copper-gold mineralization at Gate below historic IP data (~200 metres depth). The new 3D IP survey corelates exceptionally well with the known mineralization at Gate, particularly higher grade zones which correspond to conductive responses on the flanks of resistive highs and chargeability trends at depth.

In addition, new 3D IP conductive anomalies traced to depth coincide with, and extend beyond copper grades noted in drilling, thereby highlighting the potential to expand Gate Zone mineralization along strike and down plunge to the south and southeast. The 3D IP data also highlights a potential connection between the Gate Zone and the Prime target, with further extension to the northeast. More importantly, a new one kilometre long "look-alike" response similar to Gate occurs 600 metres to the southeast (see Figures 1 and 2). None of the new 3D IP geophysical targets near Gate or along strike of known mineralization has been tested to date. These prospective porphyry-style targets will be included as part of the 2022 drill campaign.

Kodiak Copper - Annual Investor Letter

    January 9, 2023 – Vancouver, British Columbia

    Dear Fellow Investors:

As we start this new year, we look forward to building on the accomplishments of 2022, a year that saw Kodiak execute the biggest exploration program to date at our 100% owned MPD project located in southern British Columbia. The program materially increased the scale of our first discovery at the Gate Zone and generated two new discoveries, but by no means are we close to being done! I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who contributed to Kodiak’s success: our dedicated team, including our chairman Chris Taylor, our strategic partner Teck Resources, Discovery Group, the First Nations who we work with and all our shareholders and supporters.

The 2022 exploration program began in March and included over 26,000 metres of drilling completed in 41 drill holes. The first phase of the drill program focused on further extending our already sizeable high-grade copper porphyry Gate Zone where we have successfully drilled mineralization over an area of one kilometre north-south by 350 metres east-west and to a depth of 900 metres. Additionally, we drill-tested nearby look-alike anomalies in the wider Gate Zone area and were pleased to announce the discovery of a parallel porphyry trend at the nearby Prime Zone over 400 metres in length and down to a depth of 550 metres, adding further upside and size potential.

In the later part of the 2022 drill program the Company expanded its efforts to targets in the Dillard area which is characterized by very large surface anomalies and promising results from previous drilling. To date assay results for only nine drill holes from the 2022 drill program have been released, with the remaining results from Gate/Prime as well as Dillard expected over the coming months.

As in previous years, Kodiak also undertook a systematic regional exploration program at MPD that included sizeable geophysical and geochemical surveys to identify and refine new targets and prospective areas. This work resulted in the discovery of the Beyer Zone, a new high-grade gold-silver zone on surface through trenching that was announced in December. It is open in all directions and is a high priority area for follow-up work and drilling in 2023. What makes the Beyer Zone particularly promising is that it is situated within a 2.2 kilometre long, 750 metre wide corridor with multiple other gold-in-soil anomalies which offers great potential for further gold discoveries.

MPD has all the hallmarks of a district-scale, multi-centered porphyry system with several previously drilled targets with similar signatures to the Gate Zone yet to be tested, and multiple new targets being generated across the large 147 square kilometre property. With a lot more discovery potential to be unlocked we will continue our disciplined and systematic approach to exploration and look forward to another large exploration program in 2023 to generate more copper and gold discoveries and reveal MPD’s true mineral potential.

The Company was able to execute a large exploration program in 2022 after raising $9.6M in March to top up the treasury by financing before the capital market weakness set in that characterized much of the last year. Kodiak’s largest shareholder Teck Resources participated in the financing, along with several institutional groups, and we very much appreciate this continued investment and endorsement of Kodiak’s exploration strategy. As we embark on our 2023 exploration program Kodiak remains well funded, with a strong cash position of over C$7 million and a tight capital structure.

Kodiak regards excellence in environmental, social and governance (ESG) as a fundamental pillar to being a successful and responsible resource company. It is a key aspect of our strategy to manage risks, build a sustainable business and create value for shareholders. Solid environmental programs have been an integral part of our exploration work from an early stage, and we actively reach out to the local Indigenous communities to build relationships based on mutual trust and open dialogue. We are currently working on carbon reduction as part of our ESG programs and will be able to update our shareholders on this initiative as the year progresses.

Kodiak Drills Significant From-Surface Copper at
    West Zone: 0.58% CuEq Over 254 m
    within 0.27% CuEq over 941 m

October 17, 2023 – Vancouver, British Columbia – Kodiak Copper Corp. (the "Company" or “Kodiak”) (TSX-V: KDK, OTCQB: KDKCF, Frankfurt: 5DD1) today reports results from its fully funded drill program at its 100% owned MPD copper-gold porphyry project in southern British Columbia. Assay results from five drill holes at the West Zone (see figure 1) are presented in this release.

    Highlights – Figures 2,3 and Table 1

Best ever drill holes at the West Zone, following the application of a Cadia-Ridgeway or Red Chris “style” of exploration model that targets higher grades and significant vertical extents within the total mineralized system.
Shallow high-grade copper assaying 1.17% Cu (1.26% CuEq*) over 39 metres, within 0.33% Cu (0.39% CuEq*) over 198 metres, starting at 33 metres depth in drill hole AXE-23-008.
Best mineralized interval reported from the West Zone to date; 0.49% Cu (0.58% CuEq*) over 254 metres, within 0.21% Cu (0.27% CuEq*) over 941 metres starting at bedrock surface in drill hole AXE-23-011.
Holes AXE-23-008 and 011 confirmed the high-energy, mineralized hydrothermal breccia at depth in the West Zone, as first reported in AXE-23-002 (news release July 27, 2023). This new zone has now been extended to 185 metres of strike and remains open in all directions.
New and historic drilling at the West Zone has confirmed porphyry mineralization over an area of 300 metres by 650 metres, and from surface to depths of 962 metres, which is open to extension.

Chris Taylor, Chairman of Kodiak said,
“The West Zone is clearly significantly larger than past explorers had appreciated and contains higher grades as well, where copper and gold are concentrated by key geological features. The significant near-surface copper at the West Zone and other porphyry centres at MPD are an attractive complement to the deeper higher-grade mineralization discovered by Kodiak at the Gate Zone.”
Claudia Tornquist, President & CEO of Kodiak said,
“This year’s drill program is an important milestone for the Company as we are applying the exploration strategy that led to our Gate Zone discovery to five new targets with the aim to demonstrate the true size potential of our district-scale MPD project. With the 2023 drilling at the West Zone we successfully advanced a second high-grade porphyry centre, in addition to our original discovery at Gate, which represents a significant step forward for MPD. With the majority of this year’s results yet to come, our shareholders can look forward to more news from multiple targets over the coming months.”
