    Vestas Wins 235 MW Wind Turbine Order from Invenergy in US

    Vestas has secured a 235 MW order of V150-4.2 MW turbines and V136-3.45 MW turbines in 3.6 MW operating mode from Invenergy to power the Sapphire Sky wind project in Illinois, USA. The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 10-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance of the asset.

    Turbine delivery begins in the second quarter of 2022 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.

    Vestas to Scale Up Blade Recycling Partnership Solution Offering

    Vestas has been delivering a blade recycling partnership solution for several wind farm operators across the USA. Vestas is currently carrying out this service in the USA and is open to offering the solution in more regions where local recycling infrastructure is robust, and customer demand can be established. The first large scale project was successfully completed in September, and saw Vestas service teams decommission and recycle 10 turbine blades. Several ongoing projects are currently in progress across multiple sites, including the 151 MW Blue Canyon 2 repowering project, as well as the 63 MW Snyder Wind project with Enel Green Power. Recycling of the decommissioned blades was a firm requirement from the operators of both projects. At present, all ongoing recycling projects in the USA have reached a scale of 285 turbines blades in total, including nacelle covers and hub covers.

    As part of the solution, Vestas teams scope an optimal recycling project plan to align with locally available solutions and customer needs. The recyclable glass fiber material is then separated from the turbine and cut into transportable units. The material is then transported to vetted recycling partners, using a glass fiber recycling method that aligns with the customer’s sustainability ambitions. Recycling methods can include cement co-processing, gasification, forming new composite materials, and reclaiming glass fiber and carbon fibers.

    Vestas Bags Order of EnVentus Turbines from TransAlta in USA

    Vestas has received a 301 MW order from TransAlta Corporation to power two wind projects, White Rock East and White Rock West, in Oklahoma, USA. The order consists of 33 V162-6.0 MW turbines and one V136-3.45 MW turbine at White Rock East and 16 V162-6.0 MW turbines and one V136-3.45 MW turbines at White Rock West, respectively.

    Both orders include supply and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance of the asset.

    Turbine delivery for both projects begin in the fourth quarter of 2022 with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of 2023.

    Finse opdracht voor Vestas

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Vestas heeft een opdracht binnengehaald in Finland. Dit meldde de Deense bouwer van windturbines woensdag. De financiële details werden niet vermeld.

    Vestas zal 14 V162-6.2 MW-turbines leveren aan het Pajuperänkagas-project dat wordt ontwikkeld door ABO Wind.

    Naast de de levering en installatie zal Vestas de windmolens ook onderhouden gedurende een periode van 25 jaar.

    De turbines zullen in het tweede kwartaal van 2023 worden afgeleverd en in het vierde kwartaal van hetzelfde jaar in gebruik worden genomen.

    Vestas zal 6 turbines leveren voor een windproject op Sicilië. De financiële details werden niet vermeld.

    De turbines zullen in het derde kwartaal van 2022 worden afgeleverd. Ze zullen in de laatste drie maanden van volgend jaar operationeel zijn, is de verwachting.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Vestas grossiert woensdag in nieuwe opdrachten.

    De Deense bouwer van windturbines meldde vandaag al vier nieuwe projecten. Na opdrachten in Finland, Frankrijk en Italië, kwam daar vanmiddag ook nog één uit Argentinië bij.

    Vestas zal 18 turbines leveren voor een windproject in de provincie Buenos Aires. De financiële details werden niet vermeld.

    De turbines zullen in het derde kwartaal van 2022 worden afgeleverd. Ze zullen naar verwachting in de laatste drie maanden van volgend jaar operationeel zijn.

    Vestas zal ook het onderhoud doen van de turbines voor een periode van 20 jaar.

    Het aandeel Vestas stijgt woensdagmiddag 1,3 procent.

    Opdrachten Vestas in Nederland en Frankrijk

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Vestas heeft opdrachten binnengehaald in Nederland en Frankrijk. Dit meldde de Deense bouwer van windturbines vrijdag.

    Voor Eneco zal Vestas in Nederland 22 turbines leveren voor Windpark Maasvlakte, die gezamenlijk zo'n 152.000 huishoudens van elektriciteit kunnen voorzien.

    In Frankrijk levert Vestas in totaal 23 windturbines, verspreid over de regio's Grand Est en Hautes de France. Eerder deze week meldde Vestas al een project in Frankrijk en haalde de bouwer van windturbines ook opdrachten binnen in Finland, Italië en Argentinië.

    Iberdrola Awards Vestas Wind Turbine Contract for Polish Project

    Iberdrola is advancing its renewable energy footprint in Poland, one of the company’s new growth markets, with a new turbine supply and installation contract signed with Vestas for the Korytnica II windfarm. The 50.4-MW project, located in Mazowieckie voivodeship, Northeast of Warsaw, will comprise 14 x V126-3.45 MW turbines in 3.6 MW operating mode at a hub height of 132 metres.

    Construction will be carried out by civil engineering company CJR renewables, which built Korytnica I (82.5 MW) back in 2015. Works are set to begin before the end of the year with wind turbine delivery expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2022. The project will be serviced by Vestas under a long-term service agreement.

    The production of Korytnica 2 is covered through a corporate PPA with support from Poland’s fourth Contracts for Difference auction which took place in June 2021.

    With full commissioning of Korytnica II scheduled for the beginning of 2023, Iberdrola’s onshore wind capacity in Poland will then reach 163 MW, including existing operational wind farms Korytnica I (82.5 MW) and Zopowy (30 MW).

    Omzetprognose Vestas stelt teleur

    Vestas, wereldleider in windturbines en bijgevolg een lieveling in duurzame fondsen, mikt dit jaar op een omzet tussen 15 en 16,5 miljard euro. Dat is duidelijk onder de gemiddelde analistenprognose van 16,6 miljard euro.

    Bovendien gaat Vestas over 2022 uit van een bedrijfswinstmarge (ebit) tussen 0 en 4 procent. Het midden van die vork ligt duidelijk onder de ebitmarge van circa 3 procent die Vestas verwacht over 2021.

    De aanbodperikelen zorgen voor belangrijke kosteninflatie en een uitstel van projecten.

    Vestas schiet tekort
    Omzet in 2021 van 15,6 miljard euro.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Vestas blijft in 2021 met de omzet aan de onderkant van zijn eigen raming, terwijl de marge beduidend lager uitvalt dan verwacht. Dit bleek woensdag uit voorlopige cijfers van de Deense bouwer van windturbines.

    Vestas schat de omzet vooralsnog op 15,6 miljard euro waar het bedrijf eerder rekening hield met 15,5 tot 16,5 miljoen euro, een bijstelling van een eerdere raming van 16 tot 17 miljard euro.

    De EBIT-marge blijft met 3,0 procent ruim onder de outlook van 4,0 procent. Aanvankelijk mikte Vestas zelfs nog op 6 tot 8 procent marge.

    In 2021 werd voor 813 miljoen euro geïnvesteerd, afgezet tegen de eigen raming van minder dan 1 miljard euro, die eerder op 1 miljard euro stond. In 2020 investeerde Vestas 687 miljoen euro.

    De vrije kasstroom komt naar verwachting uit op 183 miljoen euro.

    De orderinstroom aan turbines beliep over 2021 in de voorlopige cijfers 13,9 megawatt.

    In november van het vorig jaar werd het bedrijf slachtoffer van een zogeheten cyberaanval, die vooralsnog geen significante schade aan de onderneming heeft toegebracht.

    Outlook

    Voor het lopende boekjaar gaat Vestas uit van een omzet tussen de 15,0 en 16,5 miljard euro, een EBIT-marge van 0 tot 4 procent en een investeringsniveau van ongeveer 1 miljard euro.

    Vestas wederom forse stijging. Het zal wel komen vanwege de verwachting dat er meer investeringen komen in windenergie om de afhankelijkheid van Rusland te verkleinen, maar mij lijkt het een overdreven reactie.
    De cijfers de laatste kwartalen zijn slecht en volgens mij gaat Vestas nog wel meer last krijgen van gestegen grondstofprijzen de komende tijd.
    Ik kijk nog even verder of ik een goed argument kan vinden voor deze koersstijging, anders verkoop ik mijn hele positie. Ik had het eigenlijk als LT-investering, maar 20% winst in een paar dagen moet je verzilveren, denk ik.

    Vestas has received a 171 MW order from Cordelio Power to power the Moraine Sands wind project in Illinois, USA. The order consists of 38 V150-4.5 MW turbines. This project is an expansion of the 185 MW Glacier Sands wind farm, commissioned in November 2021, which consists of 43 V150-4.2 MW turbines delivered in 4.3 operating mode.

    The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance of the asset.

    Turbine delivery begins in the fourth quarter of 2022.

    Vestas Secures 21 MW Order from Enefit Green in Estonia

    Vestas has received a 21 MW order from Enefit Green AS’s subsidiary, Enefit Wind Purtse, for the Purtse wind project in Estonia, which represents Vestas’ market entry into Estonia. The order also marks Vestas’ first collaboration with Enefit Green. The order includes the supply and installation of five V136-4.2 MW turbines installed at a hub height of 82m. Vestas will also service the turbines under a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreement.

    Deliveries at the Purtse wind project are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2023, while commissioning is planned for the first half of 2023.

    Enefit Green acquired the development project for Purtse Wind Farm from Raunistal in March 2021 and made the final investment decision to start construction in January 2022.

    Vestas to Supply 7 Wind Turbines for Licata Wind Farm in Italy

    International renewables developer wpd has placed a 30 MW order for the Licata wind park to be located in Sicily, Italy. The contract includes the supply and installation of seven V150-4.2 MW wind turbines, six of them delivered in 4.3 MW optimised power mode, as well as a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

    Turbine delivery is planned for the third quarter of 2023, whilst commissioning is expected for the fourth quarter of 2023.

    With this project, Vestas has secured more than 1.6 GW of contracts derived from auctions in Italy, where it has installed over 4.7 GW since 1991, accounting for a market share of more than 40 percent.

    Vestas Secures 86 MW Order from PCR in Argentina

    Vestas has secured an 86 MW order with Petroquímica Comodoro Rivadavia SA for two projects in Argentina: Mataco III and Vivoratá, nearby Bahia Blanca and Mar del Plata cities respectively in the Province of Buenos Aires. This new order includes 19 V150-4.5 MW turbines as well as a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service contract, optimising the energy production for the lifetime of the project.

    Turbine delivery is planned for the first quarter of 2023, whilst commissioning is expected for the fourth quarter of that same year.

    Vestas to upply 7 Wind Turbines for Marhult Wind Farm in Sweden

    Vestas has received a 32 MW order from Marhult Vind AB for the Marhult wind project in the Uppvidinge municipality outside Växjö, Sweden. The order includes the supply and installation of seven V150-4.5 MW wind turbines, which are planned to be commissioned by the end of 2023. Deliveries at Marhult are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2023. As part of the Marhult order, Vestas has also secured a long-term Active Output Management 5000 service agreement to enable power performance certainty and Vestas’ industry-leading service expertise throughout the lifetime of the project.

    Octopus Renewables, the fund management specialist which is part of Octopus Energy Group’s generation business, recently acquired the Marhult wind farm from OX2, and they are working together to build and operate it.

    ArcelorMittal Acindar Investing in Wind Power Project

    ArcelorMittal’s Argentinian steelmaker Acindar has signed an agreement with Petroquimica Comodoro Rivadavia to invest USD 140 million in a renewable energy project. Acindar acquired 49% stake of a local energy company to develop the project in partnership with Petroquimica Comodoro Rivadavia. The two companies said the project should have a 76.5-Megawatt capacity and will be located inside the San Luis Norte wind farm. The project will feature 17 of Vestas’s V150 4.5MW turbines, installed on 90-metre towers. It will increase capacity by 76.5MW and is expected to come on-stream during the second half of 2023. In addition, the companies will install a 10MW solar park

    The project will allow Acindar to supply part of the energy needs of its steel business. Acindar expects to invest USD 200 million in Argentina by 2025 to expand steel output capacity, as it eyes steel exports. Acindar CEO Everton Negresiolo said “Adding renewable energies to our plant’s energy supplies not only brings a benefit to the company, but also to the economy as a whole, since electrical capacity is released for other purposes and the demand for foreign currency is reduced.”

    's Werelds grootste producent van windturbines verlaagt zijn marge- en omzetprognoses na een slecht eerste kwartaal.

    Vestas Wind Systems dook in het eerste kwartaal dieper in het rood dan verwacht. Het gezuiverd bedrijfsverlies (ebit) bedroeg 329 miljoen euro, flink meer dan de -91 miljoen euro waarvan analisten uitgingen. De gezuiverde ebit-marge zakte met 9,3 procentpunten tot -13,2 procent.
