    Vestas Bags Orders from Wind Project in Vietnam

    An order for a 29 MW wind project from the Vietnamese developer, Soc Trang Energy Joint Stock Company, a subsidiary of Xuan Cau Company Limited, has underlined Vestas’ ability to provide site-specific solutions for complex and challenging site conditions that require careful planning and execution. Located in Soc Trang, a province in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam, the Soc Trang 7 wind project will feature seven V150-4.2 MW turbines with customised towers placed on reinforced onshore foundations raised above sea level in the shallow near-shore waters. Vestas will work closely with the customer to handle the complexity of planning and executing the intertidal project, and will supervise the installation of the turbines, strategically placed to exploit the full potential of the Mekong Delta region’s favourable wind conditions. This will be Vestas’ ninth intertidal order since winning its first intertidal order in Vietnam less than a year ago in December 2019.

    The order also includes a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, designed to maximise energy production for the site. With a yield-based availability guarantee, Vestas will provide the customer with long-term business case certainty.

    The project is planned to achieve commissioning in the third quarter of 2021.

    Vestas Bags GEC Order for The la Bang 1 Wind Project in Vietnam

    Vestas has secured a 50 MW order in Vietnam with local developer Ia Bang Wind Power Joint Stock Company, owned by the Vietnam-based renewable power producer Gia Lai Electricity Joint Stock Company. This is Vestas second project with GEC and it will take its total order intake past 1.1 GW in Vietnam. The contract includes the supply and supervision of the installation of 12 V150-4.2 MW wind turbines delivered in different power ratings to optimise energy production for the site’s specific wind conditions. The la Bang 1 wind project will be located in Gia Lai province in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, a region with generous wind resources and a growing pipeline of wind projects.

    The order also includes a 10-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreement, designed to maximise energy production for the site. With a yield-based availability guarantee, Vestas will provide the customer with long-term business case certainty.

    The project is planned to achieve commissioning in the third quarter of 2021.

    De kwartaalcijfers waren om 8:00 al bekend. Prima cijfers, maar niet goed genoeg voor een 1.114 DKK waardering op dit moment. Vooral de marges die teruglopen is voor sommigen wat zorgwekkend. Ik blijf nog steeds comfortabel zitten, Vestas blijft een heel solide bedrijf die in de toekomst nog veel turbines op de wereld gaat zetten. Vooral met de uitbreiding met MHI, kunnen ze het offshore segment in.

    AMSTERDAM (AFN/RTR/BLOOMBERG) - Aandelen van windturbinemaker Vestas kelderden woensdag tot 12 procent op de beurs in Kopenhagen. Onzekerheid rond de Amerikaanse presidentsverkiezingen zorgt voor twijfel over toekomstige duurzaamheidsplannen in de Verenigde Staten. Ook andere bedrijven die actief zijn in duurzame energie daalden.

    De Democratische presidentskandidaat Joe Biden benadrukte in zijn campagne grote investeringen in hernieuwbare energie voor te staan. In totaal wil hij 2 biljoen dollar uittrekken voor de overstap van fossiele naar groene energiebronnen.

    Door het uitblijven van een 'blauwe golf', zoals een klinkende overwinning van Biden werd aangeduid, zitten groene energiebedrijven in de hoek waar de klappen vallen. Siemens Gamesa, dat ook turbines voor windmolenparken ontwikkelt, speelde in Madrid bijna 3 procent kwijt. Energiebedrijf Ørsted, dat zich voornamelijk op hernieuwbare energie richt, noteerde ruim 2 procent lager.

    Bij het Deense Vestas, dat in de middaghandel ruim 4 procent lager koerste, speelt ook een tegenvaller bij de kwartaalcijfers mee. Hoewel het bedrijf de omzet het afgelopen kwartaal met 31 procent opvoerde tot 4,8 miljard euro, waren de cijfers over nieuwe orders minder dan verwacht.

    Vestas wint Britse turbineorder

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Vestas heeft in het Verenigd Koninkrijk een order in de wacht gesleept. Dit maakte de Deense windturbinefabrikant vrijdag bekend zonder financiële details te geven.

    Het gaat om 14 windturbines van het type V112-3.45 MW, voor in totaal 50 megawatt, die in Schotland komen te staan.

    De levering van deze turbines wordt naar verwachting in het eerste kwartaal van 2021 gestart.

    Wat een fantastisch koersverloop laat Vestas zien afgelopen maanden, kleurt keurig tussen de lijntjes en geeft zowel koper als verkoper alle kans, waarbij er nog steeds meer vraag blijft naar de aandelen. Het geeft veel rust om zo'n aandeel in je portefuille te hebben. Slow and steady wins the race...

    Vestas and Casa dos Ventos Energias Renováveis have extended their partnership with the largest deal in the history of both companies in Latin America: the 534 MW order for the expansion of the Rio do Vento complex, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

    This is the third contract signed between the partners in less than two years, totaling 1.2 GW of wind turbines and underlining the strong collaboration between Vestas and Casa dos Ventos. With this deal, Vestas further strengthens its presence in Brazil, where we have a total order intake of more than 5.5 GW.

    Met de gemiddelde verkoopprijs van $0,7-0,75 miljoen is dit project goed voor $400M aan leveringen en nog eens 534MW aan turbines in beheer.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Vestas heeft in Italië een opdracht in de wacht weten te slepen. Dit maakte de Deense bouwer van windturbines dinsdagochtend bekend zonder financiële details te melden.

    Het gaat hierbij om de levering en installatie van 11 V136-3.45 MW windturbines en een onderhoudscontract voor de duur van 15 jaar.

    Levering van de molens staat gepland voor het tweede kwartaal 2021.

    Vestas Customised Power Plant Solution for 42 MW Order in Finland

    Vestas has received a 42 MW order for the Langnabba wind project. The project will be developed by Vind AX AB, a Finnish developer and independent power producer, and new customer for Vestas. The project will be located on the Åland Islands, in the Baltic Sea, between the Finnish and Swedish mainland. As Aland’s largest wind power project to date, the project leverages the versatility of Vestas’ 4 MW platform, comprising ten V136-4.2 MW turbines with 112m towers. To ensure a maximised energy production over the lifetime of the wind project, Vestas and Vind AX has signed a 25-year Active Output Management AOM 5000 service agreement. Under this contract and supporting job creation on the Aland Islands, Vestas has engaged Allwinds AB, a local service provider, to support Vestas’ service team at the Langnabba wind project.

    The Langnabba wind project at its Aland Islands’ location is characterised by a very demanding grid environment with extraordinarily low short circuit ratios, making it prone to instabilities. Leveraging its industry leading grid capabilities, Vestas has developed project-specific settings on control parameters, involving both key wind turbine components and the power plant controller. This configuration will ensure a cost efficient and reliable connection between the wind project and the grid.

    The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution, lowering turbine downtime and thus optimising the energy output.

    Deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2021 and commissioning is planned for the first quarter of 2022.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Vestas heeft in de Verenigde Staten een nieuwe opdracht in de wacht weten te slepen. Dit maakte de Deense bouwer van windturbines vrijdag bekend zonder financiële details te melden.

    Het gaat hierbij om de levering en installatie van 32 V150-4.2 MW windturbines, 15 V162-6.0 MW en 8 V110-2.0 MW turbines.

    Ook werd een meerjarig onderhoudscontract getekend met de opdrachtgever.

    Levering van de turbines staat gepland voor het derde en vierde kwartaal van 2021.

    MHI Vestas Leases Waterside Manufacturing Facility

    MHI Vestas Offshore Wind and CIP Changfang & Xidao Offshore Wind Project lease Fortune Electric site in Taichung Harbour as preparations continue to carry out turbine hub and final nacelle-related assembly in Taiwan. MHI Vestas has taken on significant acreage in Taichung Harbour as it ramps up preparations to deliver the world’s most ambitious offshore wind localisation plan in Taiwan.

    MHI Vestas and developer Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners have secured a 5000 square metre site located centrally in zone 1 of Taichung Harbour adjacent to the pre-assembly quayside of CIP’s Changfang & Xidao Offshore Wind Project, intended for assembly activities for some of the projects to be delivered in Taiwan using V174 technology. This site is being leased from Fortune Extra High Voltage Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Fortune Electric Co., Ltd., and will be prepared for MHI Vestas’ operations.

    For certain MHI Vestas projects, turbine hub assembly is expected to be carried out on the site, as well as final nacelle-related assembly and testing.

    Hub assembly activities at Fortune’s site will involve some of the offshore wind components made locally in Taiwan, including hub plates from Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group YGG and spinner covers from the Atech / Fassmer FACT joint venture. YGG and FACT are among the many Taiwanese suppliers producing offshore wind turbine components as beneficiaries from MHI Vestas and CIP’s world-leading sustainable localisation plan, which has been approved by Taiwanese authorities.

    Ben benieuwd of we bij de volgende kwartaalupdates ook wat meer te horen krijgen over nieuwe turbines van Vestas voor het offshore segment. Met de acquisitie van MHI kunnen ze hopelijk sneller schakelen om ook voor het offshore segment grotere en efficiëntere turbines te kunnen leveren. Hier lopen ze nog aardig achter op Siemens en GM.

    Durft iemand een voorspelling te doen voor 2021 nu het einde van 2020 nadert? Is Vestas op dit moment 'priced to perfection' of valt er nog te winnen? Ben zelf ook benieuwd of er nog te renoveren valt. Ik zou weleens in het R&D departement van Vestas willen spieken om te zien waar ze allemaal mee bezig houden.
