    Glad to see the EU approval of the Covid test, That gives me more hope that the FDA approval is right on the heels of the EU, Still as I pointed out yesterday the value of fast COVID testing has been marked down in expectation of a vaccine, If Immunexpress releases a positive COVID validation study, then Idylla should prove very useful through what is looking like a dark winter.

    significant impact of the pandemic in Q2 2020 and grew 61% year-on-year. With year-to-date growth in

    commercial cartridge volume in Q3 2020 standing at 27%, Biocartis is on track to achieve the targeted 30%
    growth for FY2020. The US returned to the growth of commercial cartridge volumes in oncology, complemented
    by initial sales of the Idylla™ SARS-CoV-2 Test1
    . European markets showed consistent growth within oncology,
    fully in line with pre-pandemic expectations. In Rest of World (RoW4
    ) markets, the year-on-year growth during
    Q3 2020 was moderate, while year-to-date growth is still stalling due to the continued impact of the pandemic.
    ? Installed base – During Q3 2020, the Idylla™ installed base continued to expand, with the US representing 50%
    of all new Idylla™ placements. The lingering impact of the pandemic continued to slow down the Idylla™
    instrument growth in RoW markets.
    ? Regulatory update RoW markets – End of October 2020, the Taiwan FDA (TFDA) has accepted registrations for

    Biocartis stelt Idylla-doelstelling licht bij
    Biocartis BCART0,00% , het bedrijf uit Mechelen dat zaklabo’s en de bijbehorende cartridges maakt, verwacht dit jaar ongeveer 300 nieuwe Idylla’s te plaatsen. Dat is iets minder dan het streefcijfer dat begin september in het halfjaarrapport was genoemd: toen lag het streefdoel op 300 tot 350 nieuwe Idylla-plaatsingen.
    De prognose voor de verkoop van cartridges blijft wel onveranderd. Biocartis streeft naar een commerciële volumegroei rond 30 procent op jaarbasis. Dat zou neerkomen op een volume van circa 228.000 cartridges.
    In het derde kwartaal kon Biocartis weer aanknopen met groei wat de verkoop van cartridges betreft. ‘In het derde kwartaal van 2020 heeft de totale groei van het volume aan cartridges zich verder hersteld van de aanzienlijke impact van de pandemie in het tweede kwartaal van 2020’, zegt topman Herman Verrelst in een persbericht.
    Op het einde van het derde kwartaal bedroeg de kaspositie van Biocartis 137 miljoen euro.

    Oud nieuws toch? Het is hier al meermaals gezegd, aan het huidige tempo komen ze nog niet snel genoeg aan winstgevendheid. Zelfs als je daar nog een zeer optimistisch groeiscenario bij doet zal er vroeg of laat nog een keer geld moeten worden opgehaald. En ja dat zal voor wat verwatering zorgen, so what?

    Denk dat het belangrijkste dat we vandaag kunnen meenemen uit de cijfers is dat de outlook voor 2020 realistisch is. De verwachting om dit jaar 30% groei te realiseren, zelfs in deze zeer moeilijke tijden schept vertrouwen. En nog het allerbelangrijkste, ze zijn daar in Amerika de goede richting aan het uitgaan. De keuze om voor een eigen sales team te gaan begint z'n vruchten af te werpen denk ik.
