Misschien wel even mooi geweest

    Update:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEW YORK, Dec. 04, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via NetworkWire —Sigma Labs Inc. (NASDAQ: SGLB) today announces its placement in an editorial published by NetworkNewsWire ("NNW"), a multifaceted financial news and publishing company for private and public entities.

To view the full publication, titled “Unleashing the Disruptive Forces of 3D Printing,” visit: nnw.fm/g3zSt

Additive manufacturing, better known as three-dimensional or 3D printing, has potential to change the world. However, the full promise of the technology has been stymied due to the high costs and complexities of end-product inspection and quality control. With its pioneering PrintRite3D(R) software, Sigma Labs Inc. (NASDAQ: SGLB) (SGLB Profile) appears to be ready to help unleash the transformative forces of 3D printing and usher in what’s been called the fourth industrial revolution.

Aerospace has embraced 3D printing and, for the first time in the industry, Sigma Labs’ software makes possible nondestructive quality assurance during the 3D printing of metal parts, uniquely allowing errors to be corrected in real time. The sector has been searching for just such a validated tool and method to raise quality and cut costs, scale production, and bring 3D printing even more into mainstream manuf

MX3D 3D Prints Structural Steel Connector for Takenaka

Amsterdam-based metal 3D printing company MX3D has revealed collaboration with Japanese architecture and engineering firm Takenaka. Together, the companies designed a Structural Steel Connector, which MX3D then 3D printed using its large scale robotic printing technology, Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing. Once designed, the part was 3D printed by MX3D using Duplex stainless steel, an alloy known for its good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. The result is a hollow steel structure weighing 40 kg which is designed to be filled with concrete post-printing, for a total weight of about 45 kg. These steel connectors can be used in the construction of buildings.

In civil engineering, filling steel tubes with concrete is a fairly common practice known as Concrete-filled Steel Tube. The process is both effective and economical as adding the concrete core to steel tubes delays the buckling of steel, while the steel structure can bear tensile and bending forces.

In the 3D printing world, MX3D is probably best known for its 3D printed canal bridge project, which has been in the works since 2015. More recently, the company has also worked on a number of interesting initiatives, ranging from an aluminum 3D printed bike to an optimized robotic arm in cooperation with Altair.

Apis Cor Completes 3D Printed Wall Structures of 2 Story Building in Dubai

Apis Cor recently completed 3D printed wall structures of a two-story administrative building for the Dubai Municipality. Standing at 9.5 meters tall with an area of 640 square meters, it is the largest 3D printed building to date. Apis Cor was able to conduct extensive R&D dedicated to testing the equipment under harsh climatic conditions and developing the 3D printing material. Unique design of Apis Cor’s 3D printer the structure of the building was built directly on-site without any extra assembly works. The total area of the building is 640 sq. meters, which is larger than the printing area accessible when the Apis Cor’s 3D printer is stationary. However, the Apis Cor 3D printer is mobile and was moved around the construction site by crane.

The whole process took place in an uncovered area, meaning such critical environment requirements for 3D printing material like temperature and humidity were uncontrolled.

The giant building was built on-site by means of one Apis Cor's 3D printer. 3D printing a floor by floor

Structural calculation and analysis for the building included: seismic actions, vertical action, floor masses and mass moments of inertia, structural model, modal analysis, accidental torsion effects, shear forces, displacements, damage limitations, internal forces.

Nordmetall adds Gefertec arc403 System for 3D Printing of High-Strength Steel Parts

Neukirchen Germany based materials testing specialist Nordmetall GmbH has acquired an arc403 system for wire-arc metal Additive Manufacturing from Gefertec GmbH, Berlin, Germany. The addition of the new machine is expected to improve its process technologies as it undertakes R&D projects aimed at advancing technologies for the production of components from high-strength steels.

Gefertec’s arc403 uses the company’s 3DMP® process, based on arc welding technology using wire as the starting material. The advantages of wire-arc metal AM include the build speeds available, the ease of handling wire feedstock as opposed to loose powder, and the feedstock’s comparative affordability. The arc403 enables 3-axis production of metal components to a maximum mass of 800 kg.
