    Groet, Jonas

MZ Group will work closely with Sigma Labs management to develop and execute a complete capital markets strategy designed to increase the company's visibility throughout the investment community. Through targeted campaigns, the team will highlight recent business successes in commercializing the company's best-in-class quality assurance solution for the commercial 3D printing industry, including the launch of its breakthrough PrintRite3D software version 5.0, the company's recent partnership with Airbus (air:FP / OTC) for a rapid test and evaluation (RTE) program and the fortification of its balance sheet in July of 2019.

MZ has developed a distinguished reputation as a premier resource for institutional investors, brokers, analysts and private investors. The firm maintains offices worldwide, including New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, San Diego, Aliso Viejo, Austin, Taipei, and São Paulo. Additionally, MZ Group was recently ranked the No. 1 consultancy in Latin America and No. 7 in the world in business communication.

Managing Director and Head of MZ North America's Orange County Office, Chris Tyson, will be advising Sigma Labs in all facets of corporate and financial communications, including the coordination of roadshows and investment conferences across key cities and building brand awareness with all financial and social media outlets.

Chris Tyson, Managing Director of MZ North America, said: "Sigma Labs is well positioned to monetize the rapidly growing commercial 3D printing market, which faces notable quality assurance issues inherent to the additive manufacturing process as it stands today. Their unique software product allows machine operators to correct mistakes before they happen, increasing end product quality and reliability," concluded Tyson.

"We have been tracking the commercial 3D printing industry for some time, looking for a company that targets an unmet market need with a product that has a clear path to commercialization and broader market acceptance," said Ted Haberfield, President of MZ North America. "During our due diligence process, we discovered that Sigma has no direct competition and the integration of its software at the OEM level, creates an incredible licensing opportunity that we found particularly attractive.

US Air Force Develops 3D Printed Steel

US Air Force scientist has developed a state-of-the-art low alloy high-performance steel that can be powdered and 3D printed into components, and other replacements parts for military and commercial applications. The new steel was invented by Dr Rachel Ann Abrahams of the US Air Force Research Laboratory’s Munitions Directorate, according to a patent issued. Dr Abrahams described the new USAF-96 steel, originally designed for bunker-buster bombs, as the perfect material for both military and commercial use. He said that “The actual task was to see if we could make it easier for the producers to make and reduce the cost by about 10%. When they came back and said that it was going to be a 50% reduction in cost I think all of us were very, very excited and very surprised.”

Current steel production methods are costly due to the number of expensive alloys necessary, including tungsten and cobalt. Until now, new ways of manufacturing steel failed to retain strength while cutting costs.

According to the Air Force’s newly issued patent, “One major disadvantage to traditional high strength, high-performance steels is the relatively high cost of the steel, which arises from the alloy content, as well as the expensive manufacturing processes associated with such high-performance steels. To produce high strength steel, prior art compositions generally contain high levels of nickel, tungsten, and/or cobalt, which are relatively expensive elements and contribute to the high overall cost of the final steel product. “

To counter this, USAF-96 steel contains no tungsten or cobalt and is a low carbon, low nickel-alloy composition. In addition to its material cost advantage, USAF-96 Steel can be produced using standard air-melt production processes, at a substantially lower cost than prior methods.

The steel’s composition, along with specific thermal processing conditions, leads to the growth of beneficial nano-scaled carbides in a martensitic matrix, which allows it to possess high-performance characteristics even in heavier sections while using reduced the need for expensive components.

The new steel has also shown in testing to demonstrate through hardenability and toughness at -40°C, even with sections up to 4-inches in thickness, making it ideal for a range of applications from automotive components to structural bridge pieces to 3D printed parts for an M1 tank.

Dubai constructs largest 3D printed two-storey building in the world

The government of Dubai announced that it hosts the largest 3D printed two-storey structure in the world. The building, which spans 640 square meters and is 9.5 meters in height, was recently recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. The two-storey building was presented this week by the Dubai Municipality and showcases the Middle Eastern city’s continued commitment to its 3D Printing Strategy and, specifically, its plan to construct 25% of buildings in Dubai using 3D printing by 2030. At first glance, the 3D printed building does not grab the eye. But it is precisely this feature that adds to its success. Dubai has shown that 3D printing can be used to produce not only novelty homes and structures but also usable, practical spaces.

The project also focused on the sustainable aspect of 3D printing, and the 3D printed building reportedly complies with sustainability requirements and green building standards. Even the building material was sourced locally from within the UAE (the mixture recipe is protected as IP of Dubai Municipality).

The 3D printed house integrates a number of features, such as internal wall structures to increase insulation efficiency. The hollow voids within the printed walls can be utilized to improve thermal insulation and ultimately reduce energy consumption. They can also be used to integrate electricity, water, communications and IT functions into the building seamlessly.

Ja. Voorlopig wel beperkt aan 1,34... Twijfel om er even alles uit te gooien en terug te wachten op een dipje. Maar heb schrik dat we niet meer naar beneden zullen gaan met 't laatste nieuws. :)
