    Largo is een bijna risicoloze optie geworden op een herstel van de vanadiumprijs; dat komt vooral omdat Largo door een ongelooflijk goed jaar (2018) vrijwel al z'n schulden heeft kunnen aflossen.

    Hangt vooral van de Vanadiumprijs af. Als je de cijfers van Q2 bekijkt 30 mil omzet (Q2 2018 + 100 mil.), is dat vooral omdat de V prijs nu rond de 5$ schommelt en vorig jaar 18$ waard was. Met een waarde van 18$ was het aandeel de afgelopen dagen de lucht in geschoten.

    Hopelijk, zit in Largo maar ook in Uranium Energy Corps. beetje in hetzelfde bedje ziek. Zal waarschijnlijk een werk van lange adem worden. Gelukkig heb ik deze week mijn Aurora cannabis kunnen verkopen en in Royal Dutch shell gestoken vlak voor dividend. Met het dividend meegerekend (6%) beperk ik nog een stukje het verlies op mijn groene aandelen. Eén klein deel cannabis nog maar dus ook Vanadium en Uranium nog dik rood.

    Largo Resources Announces Notice to Terminate its Off-take Agreement

    August 20, 2019

    TORONTO, Aug. 20, 2019 /CNW/ - Largo Resources Ltd. ("Largo" or the "Company") (TSX: LGO) (OTCQX: LGORF) announces that it has formally given notice to Glencore International AG ("Glencore") of the nonrenewal of its off-take agreement dated May 14, 2008. In accordance with this notice, the off-take agreement will expire effective April 30, 2020.

    Mark Smith, Chief Executive Officer stated: "Our current off-take agreement was instrumental in securing the initial financing for the construction of the Maracás Menchen Mine and allowed the Company to focus solely on producing among the highest purity vanadium in the world. Largo remains one of the lowest-cost vanadium producers in the industry with an established track record of operational performance highlighted by the Company's new monthly V2O5 production record of 1,042 tonnes in July and global V2O5 recoveries of 80.9% exiting Q2 2019."

    He continued: "With the appointment of Mr. Paul Vollant as Director of Sales and Trading, the Company will continue developing its internal sales and trading business to further enhance Largo's presence as the leading vanadium supplier for premium applications. This transition marks a transformative moment in the Company's history and we will continue to focus on maximizing value for all of our shareholders with the new sales and trading business."

    Vanadium Demand Rising after Prices Slump - Evraz VP

    Bloomberg reported that world’s largest vanadium producer outside China Evraz Plc said steelmakers are boosting their use of vanadium again after it slumped as much as 75% this year. Alexander Erenburg, VP of Evraz, said “The current vanadium price of USD 30 to USD 40 per kilogram makes it optimal for steel alloying both in terms of costs and the technological process.”

    He said that steelmakers had substituted 15% of their consumption of the metal.

    Vanadium, used to strengthen steel, peaked at more than USD 120 per kilogram at the end of 2018 after China implemented new construction standards, stipulating the use of such toughened alloys in houses and infrastructure. Prices of the metal plunged this year as steelmakers partially substituted it with alternatives, such as niobium and titanium.
