    een visie, die geen visie mag heten, maar een tragisch overblijfsel uit de tijd van de Pilgrim Fathers met wetten en ammendments uit die tijd....toen eea. nog
    redelijkerwijs van toepassing was.

    US ports revenues insulated from US-China tariffs - Fitch

    Fitch Ratings said that increased tariffs on bilateral US-China goods trade may result in decreased traffic at certain US ports. However, revenues are not likely to be similarly affected in the medium term given the landlord-based operating model at many of the more exposed west coast ports in which contractual minimums provide a floor for revenues should volume declines worsen. Imports, which make up the largest share of volumes at many of the ports with higher exposure to Chinese trade, have thus far been resilient to the imposition of tariffs, though the risks to volumes will rise if trade protectionism is prolonged.

    On May 10 the US increased existing tariffs to 25% from 10% on $200 billion of imports from China and additional tariffs on almost all remaining imports are being contemplated. China’s corresponding increase of 20% or 25% on approximately USD 60 billion of US goods was announced on May 13. Volume data show some ports are feeling more of an effect than others, particularly when looking at US export volume as measured by loaded outbound 20 foot equivalent units. Of the larger west coast, east coast, and Gulf of Mexico ports, there is a levelling off or decline in loaded exports, other than Port of Houston, TX, since tariffs were put in place in January 2018. This trend worsened in second-half 2018 onward as additional tariffs went online in June and September.

    The steepest declines occurred at Virginia Port Authority (VPA, commonwealth port fund AA+/Stable), City of Long Beach (Port of Long Beach, senior lien revenue bonds AA/Stable), Port of Oakland (Oakland, senior lien revenue bonds A+/Stable), and in recent months, Los Angeles Harbor Department (Port of LA, revenue bonds AA/Stable) and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ, revenue bonds AA-/Stable). “Empties” are rising by double digits, partly due to a catch-up effect as shippers reposition containers back to Asia after the tariff-driven rush in fourth-quarter 2018 led to congestion for many west coast ports.

    Due to offsetting features unique to each of these credit’s revenue profiles, port volume declines are unlikely to directly translate to revenue reductions or affect ratings. In the cases of both Port of Long Beach and the Port of LA, the ports’ long-term guaranteed contracts with most tenants provide a revenue floor, which helps to insulate port revenue from trade-related volume volatility. In the case of Oakland and PANYNJ, bondholders benefit from diversified revenue pledges from business divisions in addition to port operations, namely airport operations in Oakland, and airport, road, rail, ferry and real estate assets in the case of PANYNJ, serving to mitigate volatility in any one area. VPA’s rating is based on the Commonwealth of Virginia’s legislative appropriations from the general fund if needed and is not reliant on port volumes or revenues.

    The US imported USD 450 billion of goods from China in 2018, the vast majority of which arrive through seaports. In contrast with exports, all Fitch-rated ports continue to see volume increases in loaded imports since tariffs were introduced in January 2018, although with stronger growth for east coast and Gulf ports. As US imports from China tend to be made up of higher value cargos than exports, and comprise roughly 70% of loaded cargo for the Port of LA, Long Beach, and PANYNJ, and 50%-60% for the other ports considered here, the revenue effect of a decline in export cargo will likely be muted. Any long-term imposition of higher tariffs would result in lower US consumer demand, which would reduce US imports and curb trade volumes beyond 2019.

    Germany emerged as a leading destination for immigration around 2011, as the country’s labor market improved while unemployment climbed elsewhere in the European Union. A second wave began in 2015, with refugees from the Middle East adding to already heavy inflows from Eastern Europe. The demographic consequences of the surge in immigration include a renewed rise in Germany’s population and the stabilization of the country’s median age. The macroeconomic consequences are hard to measure but look promising, since per capita income growth has held up and unemployment has declined. Data on labor-market outcomes specific to immigrants are similarly favorable through 2015, but reveal challenges in how well the economy is adjusting to the second immigration wave.

    Conclusion
    The German economy appears to have successfully adjusted to a dramatic increase in immigration since 2010. While the inflow of refugees has now slowed considerably, the country’s low unemployment rate suggests Germany will continue to be a magnet for foreign labor, with the benefit of moderating the aging of its workforce.

    Kost me langzaamaan moeite om nog mee te leven met de slachtoffers. Terwijl in tig landen al bewezen is, dat aanscherping van de wapenwetten direct leidde tot een vermindering van het aantal schietpartijen zoals dagelijks te zien in de USA, blijven ze daar maar hangen in hun drogredenen.
    Ziekelijk. Ik kan er niet warm of koud meer van worden, maar laat ze een beetje opschieten (beeldspraak), dan worden we eindelijk verlost van dit soort non-nieuws.

    Dus voor Trump's herverkiezing campagne 2020 koopt het Trump verkiezingsteam honderduizenden vlaggen en banners met het opschrift "Trump 2020" en "Keep America Great".

    En natuurlijk bestelt hij de vlaggen en banners bij 6 of 7 fabrieken in CHINA.

    Don't trust Trump.

    Pentagon: er zijn geen plannen om een grote troepen macht in te zetten om Iran aan te vallen.

    Mocht er een plan komen dan vereist dit een lange voorbereidingstijd en planning.
    En als er dan een plan is dan kost het weken om de troepen daar te brengen.

    Het lijkt erop dat Bolton meer bezig is met een mondelinge vorm van escalatie , waarbij hij een vijandige sfeer tegen Iran probeert te doen ontstaan.

    trump denkt er blijkbaar over om een aantal militairen een pardon te geven voor hun misdaden. Hieronder een artikel waarin dit wordt besproken.

    The award for this year’s Biggest Backhanded Compliment to Trump from a Trump Toadie goes to White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, who recently predicted a Trump victory in 2020 because “people will vote for somebody they don't like if they think it's good for them.”

    Mulvaney knows most Americans don’t like Trump. But Mulvaney thinks they’ll forgive his unsavory traits because unemployment has hit a fifty-year low, wages are rising, and economic growth exceeds 3 percent. A CNN poll released in early May shows 56 percent of Americans approve Trump’s handling of the economy.

    This is making some Democrats nervous. No president since World War II has failed to be reelected when the economy was good. “What Democrats have to be most worried about is the economy,” says Democratic pollster Celinda Lake.

    But there’s a whopping difference between Americans thinking the economy is good in general, and thinking it’s good for them personally. The personal economy drives votes, and most Americans think their personal economy is lousy.

    In a survey by The Washington Postand ABC News published May 7, more than 80 percent of Democrats and 66 percent of independents said “the economic system in this country” mainly works “to benefit those in power,” rather than all Americans. Nearly a third of Republicans agreed.

    The official economic statistics don’t reflect personal economics—what people tell each other over the kitchen table when they’re trying to pay the bills.

    Although more Americans are employed, most jobs still pay squat. Adjusted for inflation, recent wage gains are smaller than wage gains in 2015. Workers have lost so much bargaining power that not even the lowest unemployment rate in half a century is doing much to boost wages.

    Employers continue to sack workers willy-nilly. Two years ago AT&T executives promised that the pending corporate tax cut would allow them to create more jobs. They laid off 23,000 instead.

    Consider that almost 80 percent of American workers are living paycheck to paycheck and you get a feel for the havoc so many families are living in.

    Meanwhile, the costs of education, childcare, housing, and health care are soaring, and Trump hasn’t done a thing to help. If anything, he’s made it worse.

    Student loan debt is in the stratosphere. Remember the old promise that if you took a public service job your student loan would be forgiven? Betsy DeVos’s Education Department has rejected 98 percent of forgiveness applications.

    Housing is out of reach for young workers, which is why so many are living with their parents and postponing marriage.

    Childcare is becoming unaffordable. The average cost of center-based child carefor an infant is now $1,230 a month; $800 a month if you park him or her in a family childcare home.

    Health insurance is a nightmare. Last year alone, 30.4 million Americans went without any coverage -- about 1.1 million more than the year before, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Health Interview Survey.

    That's the second year the figure has risen after years of declines due to the Affordable Care Act. The reversal is largely because of Trump’s efforts to undermine the Act. The Trump administration is now asking a court to throw it out entirely.

    Co-payments and deductibles are out of control. According to a recent Gallup survey, Americans borrowed $88 billion to pay for health care last year, and one out of four people decided not to see a doctor because of cost.

    Trumpland has been especially hard hit. A quarter of working-age adults in Texas lack health insurance, for example (in Massachusetts, it’s 4.9%.)

    Trump’s trade wars have hammered the kitchen tables of rural America. With corn and soybean prices plummeting, farm incomes are down $12 billion in the first quarter of this year, according to the Department of Agriculture. Farm bankruptcies are at near record levels.

    Mulvany may be correct that people will vote for somebody they dislike if they think it's good for them. Yet Trump’s economy isn’t good for most Americans.

    Zaterdag 18 mei kwam deze Republikeinse Huisafgevaardigde met een tweet, waarin hij stelt dat hij na het lezen van het Mueller rapport tot negatieve conclusies over Trump is gekomen.

    Achteraf gezien heeft komt deze negatieve tweet wel heel toevallig kort voor het bericht maandag van Ford over het ontslaan van mensen.

    Dit bericht is slecht nieuws voor de mensen rond Detroit, Michigan, waar Ford gevestigd is.
    In februari al kwam GM met 1300 banen verlies in Warren, Michigan(niet ver van Detroit).

    Velen zullen hun baan kwijt raken en dit koppelen aan de import tarieven van Trump.

    Geen wonder dat zaterdag de senator van Michigan met een negatieve twitter bericht over Trump kwam.

    Hij moet alle zeilen bij zetten om Republikeinen binnen de partij te houden.

    Immigrante kinderen worden gescheiden van hun ouders.

    Er is geen administratie. Van veel kinderen weet men niet waar zij zijn.

    Wel is duidelijk dat er kinderen via de Bethany Christian Services ergens in de US geplaatst worden.

    Bethany Christian Services plaatst de kinderen in principe bij gezinnen met een religieuze instelling. Met name de Evangelicals zijn hiermede verbonden. Een nobel streven van mensen met hun hart op de goede plaats.

    Bethany Christian Services staat onder de bezielende leiding van BetsyDeVos.

    Betsy DeVos :
    Minister van Onderwijs bij Trump
    Betsy en haar man Dick DeVos wonen in Michigan en zijn miljardair(geschat vermogen $ 5 miljard)
    De vader van Dick DeVos heeft Amway opgericht, Amway verkoopt artikelen via huisparties.
    Politiek sponsoren zij Republikeinse Senatoren en Gouverneurs tijdens hun verkiezing.

    Betsy heeft ook prive scholen opgericht. Daarmee kwam zij negatief in het nieuws. Discrimatie bij het aannemen van leerlingen is verboden. Toch had zij een manier gevonden om POC's(People of Colour) te weren.

    Haar beleidslijn als Minister van Onderwijs is : Scholing is alleen nodig voor een beperkte groep(rijken) die de bedrijven en het land kunnen leiden. De rest van de bevolking moet werken, en daar is geen of nauwelijks scholing voor nodig. Openbare scholen , betaald door de overheid, kan maximaal op bezuinigd worden.

    Nu de aandacht voor haar Bethany Christian Services
    - de kinderen van immigranten zijn gescheiden van hun ouders. Zijn geen wezen en hoeven niet bij gezinnen ondergebracht te worden. Zij moeten gewoon bij hun ouders herenigd worden.

    Het accepteren van deze kinderen lijkt meer op kidnapping dan op liefdadigheid.
    En er is geen controle op de kinderen.
    Resten serieuze vragen
    -gaan zij naar een eerlijk pleeggezin
    -er is een wens om kinderen te adopteren als een echtpaar niet vruchtbaar is. Vroeger haalde men kinderen uit weeshuizen in het buitenland. Dat gaat moeilijker en vaak duur.
    -nu komen er kinderen met hun ouders bij de grens . Je scheidt de kinderen en biedt ze ter adoptie aan
    -is er voldoende controle op waar de kinderen terecht komen
    -of gaan ze naar de hoogste bieder
    -krijgen de kinderen een normale opvoeding
    -of worden ze als slaven ingezet of aangeboden in de sex business

    Er is geen controle. Er komt totaal geen informatie van de regering over deze kinderen.
    Waarom horen we niets van hun ouders. Hun kinderen zijn afgepakt.

    Subpoena Dinsdag Don McGahn bij het Huis.

    Don McGahn was Counsel for the White House.
    De Counsel of the White House behartigt de juridische zaken van alle medewerkers van het Witte Huis.
    Hij is in dienst van het volk. Hij behartigde ook de zaken van Donald Trump. Omdat Donald Trump ook een medewerker van het Witte Huis is. Hij was niet exclusief in dienst van Trump.

    Hij wordt nu Dinsdag uitgenodigd voor een Subpoena.
    Na zijn vertrek bij het Witte Huis is hij een vrij man en kan doen en laten wat hij wil.

    Trump meent nu dat hij McGahn kan instrueren niet op de subpoena van het Huis van Afgevaardigden te verschijnen .
    Maar als hij Trump's verzoek niet inwilligt zou zijn carrière in gevaar kunnen komen of zijn advocaten maatschap zou problemen kunnen krijgen. Trump zou zijn eigen vrienden kunnen vragen geen opdrachten meer te geven aan het advocaten maatschap van Don McGahn.

    Lijkt mij toch dat er een zekere vorm van intimidatie is vanuit Trump's kant.
